OQB5knots, if their run is as impressive as is gets, then what would you say about Coldwater, Mooney, Alter, Steubenville, Ursuline, St Johns, Marion Local....I'm positive all of those guys have it up on Genoa!
-
SLLfanOk, I was very surprised to see CR beat Orrville 33-0. How did that happen? Suspensions? Injuries? My early hunch is that Genoa wins, impressed with the two team victories the last two weeks.

You ever see us play? Watch any film? Know anything about our team other than Cf beat us? Just curious what you are basing your hunch on?SLLfan;560141 wrote:Ok, I was very surprised to see CR beat Orrville 33-0. How did that happen? Suspensions? Injuries? As far as our game with CF. 0-0 until they hit MCune for a 50 yard screen pass with under a minute in the half...6-0. We ran 6 plays in the first half so that tells you something about our game plan....sucked. Score was 12-0 we have the ball inside the 10 and get nothing. Have it again inside 5, 1st and goal and we are in a no back set (brilliant) and the ball slips out of the QBs hand when he draws it back....CF recovers. That kind of night. They gashed us late in the 3rd or early 4th on a couple play actions. it was 25-0 with under 2 minutes and Doup got loose on a counter and scored from 40+. /They went for 2 and got it.....yeah , we will remember that one for sure! Our offense was pathetic that night. Sometimes when you are too balanced you never really get an identity on offense. We are just now finding our identity. Hope it shows Friday. -

Very poor offensive execution. Teams go through slumps we all know that. We were on a slump. I think/hope we have come out of the slump. CF played very well but we had several chances to score and just choked. I said it earlier we probably played worst offense game in last 30 yrs. Sophomore qb learning but after 12 games I don't consider him a sophomore any more time to step it up and play no more excuses. -

Are u kidding!! wouldn't miss game for anything! -
OQBI have talked to a Genoa fan in Private messages on here and on the huddle....he has even given me text updates each week for their games, as I give him text updates of the Orrville games. He's a real nice guy, and I don't think he would lie to me.
That being said that same Genoa Comet fan told me that this team isn't as good as last years, and the Db's are not too impressive. He went on saying how they have good run defense, and that their oline is bigger than last years. The young sophomore rb looks to be like another solid player in Vicars system, but they lack that big play guy or guys like they have had in the past 3 years.
SLL fan,
Orrville's Offense did not show up for that CF game, we were inside their 30 yard line about 4-5 times in the first half and couldn't score, meanwhile our defense held the colts scoreless for all but 6 seconds of the entire first half. If we score just once their in the first half it is a completely different game. Our defense was on the field for about 3/4 the game and were worn out. -
5knotsI would say our team may not be as good as last years either...yet.

Right on the nose. We don't have the big play guys like in past years and our D-backs make me nervous, but as a team they are finding a way to make it work - and most important - showing improvement each week. We've faced the spread a few times in the league this year, but were able to get good pressure on the QB to shut it down. Where we have gotten in trouble the last two years with Alter and then Orrville is when we have to deal with a good O-Line, a good QB, and good receivers. Just two of the three and we seem to do alright - but get a good team with all 3 and it gets scary. I think our best defense will be grinding out the clock and keeping Orville's offense on the sideline. -
OQBOrrville returns 4/5 offensive lineman, Have 3 starting running backs in our stable (Simpson, MOnheim Davis)
2 reciever who can really stretch the field (Turner, Brenner)
Tight end who is going to Indiana (Pirman)
Sophomore QB who is really taking strides (Lichti) -
5knots^^I agree that is the key to victory for Genoa. And to do that you need mistake free football. A holding call can kill a drive for grind it out teams deep in the play offs. That is why it always comes down to fewest mistakes. Ask CF . If they don't give you the ball back on that fumbled punt....who knows.

5knotsNot so sure about that Indiana thing? Boy did they get hammered!

OQBHaha, yeah I know...he still has the opportunity to go somewhere else with all those offers he has....How was your trip to Nebraska?
