Might have to leave the lady out in the cold. :) You surely will need to adhere to the "no cheering in the presbox rule"...probably be right next to one of the radio crews.

Here's my count....Three radio crews...a tv crew...orrville's coaches....orrville & Triway videographer, pa guy, spotter, two Orrville stats people, scoreboard operator, daily record, and little old me...and you guys. Wont be much elbow room.
  • OQB
They should put the Triway videographer on the triway side.

Is it time for a 3 deck press box, maybe with some luxery suites.....?

Thanks for the heads up. Working Orrville, I might just stop by Orrville HS after work (at 4:30) and reserve my spot in the press box before I head home to change. Haha! See everyone Friday.

I think our defense needs to match the intensity of Orrville and what Orrville had in the first match-up. If our defense can't get mean and nasty and hit Orrville in the mouth and Orrville wins the physical battle, it could hurt us big time. We need to be physical all night long, take some hits, and dish them out as well.

Good luck, Titans! Beat the Red Riders!

Is Triway capable of being physical with Orrville? It's a fine thing to want to be physical....but wanting to be physical and being physical are two different things.

I think Triway needs to hit big plays and have long sustained drives to have any chance.

It's pretty hard to have long, sustained drives if we're having big plays... but whichever one scores points, I'll take that one! ;)

And yes, we are capable of being physical with anyone on our schedule, including Orrville. We have shown signs of physicality and times of going through the motions. It's no secret we'll need to play a great game to win Friday, and part of playing that great game would be matching Orrville's physicality. Few teams can exceed Orrville's physicality, but we at least need to match their physicality, intensity, and mentality. If we do that, we'll be in this game. Go Titans!

Just for you Ringz. According to recently updated fantastic50, guess which team among all teams in div IV had the number 1 most difficult strength of schedule? Ding ding ding, give that man a cigar! You guessed correctly. The Orrville Red Riders. Scoff at it if you want, but my feeling is it prepares us for week 11 and beyond. Check out his site. His info is a great read for a football fan. www.fantastic50.net

Only team in D-4 to finish 7-3 and still host a game.

One of 8 teams in Ohio to finish 7-3 and host.

If that doesn't speak for schedule strength, I don't know what does.

    Fantastic 50's picks...
    CF by 30 over Ontario
    Genoa by 3 over OG
Ely Cath by 14 over Huron

Here's mine from my Region 14 page on my blog...very similar.
#8 Ontario at #1 Clear Fork. Colts by 25+.
#7 Huron at #2 Elyria Catholic. Elyria Catholic by 14-20 points.
    #5 Ottawa-Glandorf at #4 Genoa. O-G by 7.
  • THE4RINGZ
I was correct! I knew you couldn't go an entire week of posting without mentioning the strength of schedule Orrville has. By the way, I was not scoffing at it, rather predicting the course this thread would take leading up to the game.

Speaking of cigars, I do have a couple of nice ones here at the house. You know what I am saying BRF?????????

What else can we talk about? Unless you care to enlighten us on a good cigar in case you are an afacianado. I just love that word.

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself an aficionado, but I do love a good cigar.

You forgot to list Drew's prediction for the Triway/Orrville game:
    Orrville (7-3, D4 R14) by 14 (85%) vs Triway (Wooster) (8-2, D4 R14)

    Here is Calpreps:
Triway (Wooster, OH) at Orrville (OH), 7:30pm [projection: Orrville (OH) 31-22]

I hope we can prove him wrong. :) Go Titans!

Fox 8 will be here with the helicopter to cover the game, so that should be some excitement. They'll land on the practice football field.

Just think how tough our schedule would've been if Northwest and Lexington didn't have down years.... :D

Don't forget wooster, they want to fire their coach , so they must have been down also :)

FYI for those who can't get to a game Friday or Saturday you can listen to streaming webcasts at this site http://www.ohiobiz.com/Ohioradiofeeds.htm
I picked up the end of the OG game there last week.
  • OQB
Haha they actually had a nice season just lost to all the good teams they played....

sweet. Not just a SkyFox flyover either.

If you guys had attended the majority of the Wooster games over the past 10-plus seasons you would know exactly why people want a new coach. He's your John Cooper....I see why you'd want us to keep him.
  • OQB
CC, I want him gone. I would rather both teams be 8-1 7-2 going into week 10 and the game be a tossup. Yeah its fun winning 6 in a row, but to me its not that big of a rival game like it used to be...when I played we hated Ashland, northwest, and Lexington more than wooster.

    Or Lloyd Carr.....

Trust me...I like beating Wooster, but I think a change is in order....just like it was here in Orrville a year and a half ago....just time for a fresh perspective.

    Back to this game.......
  • OQB
How bad is the weather going to slow down the Triway passing attack?
  • thePITman
You hear all the time from veteran QB's that they'd rather throw in snow and rain than in wind. So, I'm hoping it's cold moreso than it is windy. Either way, rain, sleet, and snow can affect teams that like to run the ball, too, since QB-RB exchanges and holding onto the ball can become more difficult as well.

BUT we do live in Ohio, so we may see low-60's and clear by the time Friday night rolls around. Haha!
  • THE4RINGZ
The weather won't effect our Wishbone triple-opton attack.
  • OQB
Pitman, absolutely correct. I loved good weather, but playing in the rain/snow/cold was a lot of fun. Just hope you have good receivers who concentrate on catching the ball first, before trying to make a move. If the field is muddy and wet it favors the offense, becuase they know where they are going, the DB's don't know what direction to cut and makes them slower....that could make a big difference in the game.

Ringz....You joke about going from the spread to the wishbone....Dover has done it plenty of times when playing us! They would go from 5 wide to a wing-T. It certainly makes it difficult planning for two different types of offenses. I'm not fooled though Derek will be back there trying to pick us apart (while getting attacked by Pirman :D )
