Boy I hope it stays like this....Dover WILL be able to play with Marlington. Especially when we can win big without a passing touchdown. -
Crimson and Gray HairMe too. I'd really like to see a Dover-Marlington match up right up front!
I guess we should now hope to see Minerva and Edison both win next week. -

i wouldn't hoping for Marlington if i were Dover.. they are a heck of a lot better than you guys must think.. they shut out a good Louisville team all the way till like less than 1 min left or something like that.. -
TheQThis was a tough night for Salem. Not only did they lose, everbody else won. With a win over EL it's still going to be close as to whether they pull ahead of Dover. And I'm sure EL will go into Salem fighting to keep their momenum going into the playoffs. Honestly, this was probably the worst game Salem has played in the last two years in terms of mental errors, etc. Too bad it had to happen last night.

crimsondaveI don't think it as much hoping for Marlington as it is putting of the Big Red as long as possible.
-
crimsondaveI noticed on Joe Eitel that Dover doesn't control its own destiny, if they beat phila what needs to happen for them not to get in?

According to Joe Eitel's projections, if Salem and Dover both win, Salem has a slight edge if both teams get maximum points. If they get minimum points, it's a tie. Those are just two scenarios, and of course it's never that simple. Granville also has a very slight chance to sneak in. -
LocoEngineer66J,
You should know better than to wish for that. -

Yes and No. I watched the Marlington/Leps game today. They are very, very, very good. I just think Dover's D will match up good with there two headed monsters. Plus with our O now being able to smash the ball as well as throw, it makes it hard to defend. Carrollton played them pretty well until the D folded like a lawn chair. Carrollton could have played with anyone this year had the Defense been schooled right before the game. IMO
Dover will first be lucking to get into the playoffs this year and will need even more luck to pull out a win. -

Look butthead...I have been going to Big Red games for 20 years. Don't start handing me that crap about being a creek fan. I have kids that go there. The crowd sucked! Very Vocal? Gimme a break!SUPER787;529348 wrote:Don't spread that crap on here. It was a very vocal crowd until it got to 31-0. Many fans even stayed to cheer the team at the end and listen to the band play. Next time turn up your hearing aid.
And what's a Golden Warrior doing at our game when your team needs all the support it can get?
Geesh! -
crimsondaveIt's very unsettling when you Big Red people fight amongst yourselves.

Like I said, turn up your hearing aid. That 80 year old woman probably saw 3 times the games as you have. The crowd was as vocal as it needed to be. If you want more vocal, stay in the endzone with the rest of the kids. -

There is no fight to it; the kid's a jerk if he thinks the crowd should scream their lungs out over a game like we had Friday.crimsondave;530074 wrote:It's very unsettling when you Big Red people fight amongst yourselves. -
finster4307I was there last night...and I cheered. Sat with a friend in the 2nd half...even cheered for St. Joe QB when he scrambled away from 3 defenders and threw a TD pass. I must be getting old as I appreciate some of the opposing team talent...

Carrollton didnt play good at all against them.. they were down 14-0 like 2 min into the game... i dont really consider that playing pretty well against them -

If Salem and Dover both win they will each have 19.25 before L2 points. Here is the breakdown of those L2 points:
Salem
add .35 if LaBrae (4-5) beats Steubenville Catholic Central (1-8)
add .40 if United Local (6-3) beats South Range (7-2)
add .50 if West Branch (1-8) beats Marlington (9-0)
add .45 if Liberty (1-8) beats Girard (5-4)
add .05 if Campbell Memorial (8-1) beats Struthers (4-5)
add .40 if Beaver Local (1-8) beats Brookfield (4-5)
Dover
add .50 if Carrollton (4-5) beats Canton South (2-7)
add .50 if Canfield (5-4) beats Poland Seminary (6-3)
add .45 if Claymont (2-7) beats West Muskingum (0-9)
add .05 if Meadowbrook (1-8) beats Cambridge (4-5)
add .05 if Coshocton (7-2) beats River View (2-7)
I will post a complete breakdown of points for Region 11 on Sunday evening. -

Outpost, do you know what the tiebreaker is? Do they just keep going to the right of the decimal point? -
outpostIf teams end up in a tie, it then goes to 3rd level points.
-
outpostThere are 10 teams with a mathematical chance of qualifying for the playoffs. Realistically, Granville has no chance. That leaves 9 teams for 8 spots. Minerva, Edison, Dover and Salem are fighting for 3 spots. Here are different scenarios to determine which team will not make the playoffs.
If East Liverpool beats Salem, then Salem is out.
If Salem wins, then there are many possible scenarios. Assume a Salem win in each case.
If all 4 teams win, then Salem or Dover will be out. That team will be determined by L2 points, which is a toss-up.
If 3 teams win and 1 loses, then the loser is most likely out.
If 2 teams win and 2 lose, then the team out will be determined by L2 points between the losers.
If Salem wins and the other 3 lose, then the team out will be determined by L2 points between the losers. -

Also the next week they go into Ferry and play decent. They did put up a heck of a game vs Bellaire. But having 3 of the last games at home and only winning one is not good.
Finishing 5-5 is not going to sit well with many of the Creek faithful. I'm just wondering how many parents and players will be thinking about sending their kids to Big Red next yr.
i know how many 0 reno gives up on trying to get creeks players after jr high -

Funny, I always thought it was the "PARENTS" of minors who decide where "THEIR" children will attend school. I don't think the (SCS) Steubenville City Schools ever gives up on getting students, anywhere, anytime from anyplace in any state. My advise to you and the rest of the Buckcry 8 is to stop making excuses as to why you can't keep your students.
Gee, you should be wondering WHY those PARENTS decided on SCS to educate their children instead of ANY other Buckcry 8 school. Just maybe, maybe the billboards, the open houses and the Back 2 Back Excellent rating from the State is the reason. Or just maybe it's the millions & millions of dollars that SCS puts into their schools, NEW schools on a regular basis. Maybe they feel better sending their child to a school that actually has REAL class rooms inside of the school instead of trailers. Could be they just feel at ease with SCS having fiscal responsibility instead of being in the red. Maybe they see a school system that provide for their faculty and students. Maybe it's the program, the tradition, the winning........But your right, Reno just wills it to happen. -

Please explain to me how Dover would get an extra .05 points if Meadowbrook beats Cambridge and Coshocton beats River View. Dover played all four of those teams!!! It makes no sense to me.
By the way, Meadowbrook will not beat Cambridge and Coshocton will beat River View. -
bases_loadedCoshocton is a smaller school than River View so its worth more points.

You sir are an idiot...I can honestly give a rats *** about Steubenville City Schools. Keep pounding your own chest, building a winning program and tradition takes a while sometimes and I'm in it for as long as it takes. Cowards and Turncoats loves to hop on the bandwagon of schools and programs that are already established, and my question is , whats the pride and honor in that? especially when SCS supporters have no respect for the community that you live in ? I for one find Big Reds level of arrogance quite hilarious.....Big Red is the Boise State of Jefferson County...Thats it thats all...LOL
