Orrville Football - 2010

5knotsThere has to be time for Mason and coach Haley to talk face to face about what is happening. The kickoff is one of the only plays mason has the opportunity to discuss anything with the D coordinator. I think your RB/LB and your RB/DB need to be off the field for at least a play here or there otherwise their impact on the game lessens. max it has just been a health issue. Even though their are fresh uni's out there doesn't mean they are not capable. I would definitely agree whoever is out there it needs to improve.
A lot of tams seem to be going to the pooch high in the air with much success...I wish we would do that against a threat like Thomas. -
Go RidersI remember when we lost to Triway 28 - 14 we gave up a return. The offense had driven down the field scored td to make score 21 - 14 used lots of energy and clock just to have it all go to waste. We took the best players off the field to kick it off and they took it to the house. To me thats coaches fault. They say that gives players a rest. I think player would give up a one minute rest in order to prevent a huge special teams play by our opponent.
-
5knotsI can't say I disagree with the importance of the Kickoff team. I just think we have guys who are capable and hungry. Just because they are not on the first D may not be an indication of their ability on the kick team. They are still expected to deliver. If we kick to Thomas we are idiots.

WagonsgaI may be a NEWBIE on this website but I have been watching ORRVILLE football most likely longer than some of you have been alive. What I am saying it is one thing to talk at Mrs j's or Buehler's with your buddies but to put personal attacks on to a website for everyone to read is just wrong. I don't always agree with the play calls or don;t like some of the things the kids may have done in a game, but to attack them on zthis website is not the place. With that said here is something from the Beacon Journal, OUR QB is 10th in the area in passing with a QB RATING of 136.2. Seems he is doing a good job. We are 5 and 1 from the talk I heard around town before the season started no one was expecting us to be this good. Glad the kids were NOT listening. GO RIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5knotsall the talk I was involved in pre season was "all we need is a QB to surface". I think that is why so much scrutiny has followed ours. It was truly the missing piece. I have said before I think the fact that so many int's were for TDs made things worse. I am pulling for Kyle to continue improving..heck, we all are. the team has complete faith in him. I really don't care what some QB rating in the "area" says the interceptions have been a big problem for Kyle. We cannot beat good teams with turnovers. We improve that aspect of our game we will be fine. He is a different QB each week. I like the exclamation points...shows passion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who is attacking him in a personal way? Please stop with accusing us of being some mob out to get him. It's just not true. If you disagree...use the copy & paste feature and list what you feel is a PERSONAL attack on him.Wagonsga;510390 wrote:to put personal attacks on to a website for everyone to read is just wrong. Our conversations center around his on-field performance, which has been above average. Still needs to grow and develop the intermediate passing game and limit poor decisions....he and Coach Davault would be the first to admit that.
I just hate the stigma of internet discussion being a cancer and shattering kids' confidence....and from reading your words it's ok to say the same things at Buehlers and Mrs. J's...but not here? That's confusing to me. -

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have it in your mind that I am out to get Kyle. Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thread is about football X's and O's you know!!!!!! I intend to expose matters concern. I am not going to posts thread after thread saying " Gee great job buddies!!!!! Go Go Go!!!!!!!!!!!!". If we want to do that start a thread called "Best Red Rider Cheering". Everybody can then just say positive comments to no end. When we discuss areas of weakness it is because we all want on team to win on Friday. We are 5 - 1 but there are areas of our game that we all see need improvement. By the way, the talk we do here is all just arm chair coaching and fun to discuss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or it is supposed to be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
5knotsI am lovin' the exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RiderfanWagon,
QB is the easiest position to critique. The player in that position has a hand in 100% of the offensive plays, they're in the spotlight. Right now our QB is being measured against some talented QB's from the past. Is that fair? Probably not. But this is Orrville and we have a rich tradition at that spot. No one is picking on the kid, all the QB's that have played at Orrville have been criticized at one time or another. I agree with 5 Knots, the pick for 6 is the most alarming mistake. An interception you will have from time to time but I can't think of any interceptions being returned for TD's in the last 5 years. He is young and will improve. He just needs to learn from his mistakes , that's all anyone is looking for. -
5knotsback to the kickoff. I imagine we get Dillon back on the kickoff team this week. So I am trying to think who is there....Dliion Lemmon , Matt Davis, Joel Zook, Trevor Sommers, Stu, Cody Weaver, Hedberg, pretty formidable so far. Zook, weaver, Davis, Lemmon, can fly to the football. I see what you are syaing...there is always a comfort in having your best athletes on the field for everything..I just thing some of these kids need to show there stuff as well....and with a fresh body, they may do a better job?

Go RidersOur last 3 losses we lost were by a total of 3 points all on failed special teams play. Genoa lost to us partially because of failed extra point and they scored a TD on a great special teams kickoff that changed the momentum big time. We have made big special team returns with Turner who is one of our best players. The way I see it goes like this. We put our best players back to return kicks with good reason and it has worked great. I think if we put our best players in on kickoffs we will have a much better chance at causing a fumble. Special teams on our punts has also been huge. The blocked punt by Matt at Northwest led to a score. Love the X's and O's talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RedRider1How dare you attack and slander those on the kickoff coverage team.....
fore shame......
!! -
5knotsthose are good points Riders.

WagonsgaJust in case no one has noticed I never once pointed a finger at any one individual as being 'the' blogger so if your in an uproar must be the fact that you feel you are the guilty party. I just was saying this should be general not NOT pointing out individuals. Football has always been a team sport and yes the QB is involved more than anyone but we have a lot of talented kids who so far have given thier all every game and have won some good games won some ugly games and lost a tough game, But the main thing is they play with heart.
-
Go RidersSurprised I was not called out on what my plan would be if Kyle was not qb. I will tell anyways. My thoughts going into Aug. were to have Mason at QB, Davis at H and Trey at tail. I would love to see a Genoa style sweep with these guys. All 3 have 4.5 speed and run well. I would still love to see that play even if it is only once in a while.

You sure didn't...you pointed a finger at all of us.Wagonsga;510575 wrote:Just in case no one has noticed I never once pointed a finger at any one individual
Get tired of people showing up to call us all terrible people because we have an opinion on a game.
From pre-season on, we've all been supportive of the kids. We know there's talent and potential on this team, I think it's yet to be realized....maybe it's this week. -
OQBWe are all die-hard Orrville fans who just need to vent on certain situations. We want Kyle to be our QB and we are 5-1 with him under center. This site just allows us to talk football to other guys who enjoy football and our KNOWLEDGEABLE about the game of football.
-
RedRider1I'm far from knowledgeable......but love to talk.

WagonsgaI guess not having any kids or grangkids on the team right now helps me to be objective not predjadice as to who should or should not be playing what position or how much playing time they should be getting. I never said you ALL were not Riders fans thru n thru just stop attacking individuals on this site. You want to attack me go ahead I'm a big boy.

I asked you to show me where anyone is attacking...and you haven't. Either prove it....or stop making the claim.Wagonsga;510635 wrote:stop attacking individuals on this site
Simple as that. -
Go Riders
Who should and should not be playing has everything to do with talent and hard work in practice. It is not based on prejudiced parents or fans.Wagonsga;510635 wrote:I guess not having any kids or grangkids on the team right now helps me to be objective not predjadice as to who should or should not be playing what position or how much playing time they should be getting.
