Orrville Football - 2010

need him too much right now and can spare him on D. Not rue for our other RBs. It's not ideal but it is what it is. also very hard to read Tre.....limps after a fumble when no one touches him but not after a 15 yd gain? Just hard to read him.

IMO, he shouldn't need anywhere 30 carries for us to win this game. Hope we see a lot of Davis tonight.

Season gets awful short after tonight. You could say it's week 1 of the playoffs starting at Ashland. I like it....gets kids in the playoff mentality.

Davis was in more last week. The problem is the 2 or 3 plays where the H back gets the ball have not been real successful this year. Otherwise they just block for Tre and are in the slot puttin some big time crack back blocks up! Also I think we can run right at W Holmes. Groves back on the O-line tonight should help that. I think we can give Ashland problems with Max. Any QB on the run is a bit limited as to one in the pocket on where he can go with the ball. We need to limit Fuller as much as possible. Our DBs and LBs are as fast as their receivers. We just need our offense to stop giving the ball away.

5knots, I know what you mean. Never really know when he is serious or just sulking. But I do hope we can get him some rest tonight.

Maybe even play a game like Genoa....:D

The lack of success by the player running out of the H has not been the player(Mason or Matt). The lack of success by those 2 when they run is that they very rarely get a lead block. The whole point is that if Mason and Matt are good enough to run from the H spot with no lead block then they are good enough to run from the tail with a block. If we want to put the whole running with or without a block thing to rest lets run Tre from the H like Mason and Matt. Lets see what the numbers are then.

That play for the H you are referring to is not the best play by any means. Haha, I remember when I played we ran that base play we were lucky to get 2-3 yards on it, plus the defense knows whats coming. Just line them up at RB and let them run a true downhill run play with a lead block, instead of getting fancy trying to run motions and counters.

Need to harass Fuller and get pressure on him....like any QB. Make him rush throws and disrupt his timing. Like you did with Carmichael.

Heres my armchair coach take on tonights game. West Holmes passing game is weak so Tre will probably be on bench during defensive series. This means he will be well rested for series on O. On the other hand Mason and Matt are going to have to play real well on D be always rested and ready. West Holmes will be coming at them all night. Unless we run out to a huge lead I would look for a big night for Tre at least when it comes to number of carries. Hopefully the yards on those carries will also be high. I don't see many carries for Mason or Matt unless we start to blow them out. The Red Curtain defense does its job against the run the Riders win easily. If Kyle throws like the Triway game this will be fun to watch. Go Riders

Here's where I'll slightly disagree....Tre was limping several plays BEFORE the fumble. One pass play (i think just before the fumble) he could barely run his route. So the limp wasn't a result of the fumble. Maybe his preoccupation with his leg CAUSED him to lose focus and thus the fumble....you could at least argue that.

Like I said....very hard to get a good read from him...coaches...trainer, fans?

    Point made.

Ok I was not at the game, but haven't heard any complaints from you guys about playcalling....yet! It sounded like we got the ball around better tonight and a bunch of guys scored. How was the playcalling though tonight??

We did see some different things. A bit more creative.....but that could be a reflection of the defense? Kyle still missed a couple major opportunities to tuck and run. On the 1st half int he threw it looked like he had 15 yards in front of him and then just step out of bounds? Sly must have pepped him up at half....he did run one in the 3rd quarter and took a good lick.....and to be quite honest seemed like he was a different player after that? Got me thinking about when I played. It was that first big crunch that got the adrenaline going....maybe that would help get his motor running a little earlier in the game.

Here's a pointer for the Orrville staff, one that the Wooster coaching staff has never heard of. Play a safety or two against the Arrows. Throw in some junk defenses....rush even just 2 or 3 at times and drop 8 or 9 just to mess with their head. Fuller at times will take off running it between the tackles....and when he does, you have to put some hits on him. When it's actually 16 against 11 on the field....it's never good unfortunately.

We won!! Great!! If you were at the game the best word to describe your feeling after the game would be "Confused" . Two separate teams played against West Holmes the first half team and the second half team. Defense was the only thing they had in common. The first half teams defense played well the offense had a few good plays, tons of penalties and many bad plays. The second half teams defense played well and the offense played great. Can somebody can explain the logic behind this to me? I wanted to stab my eyes out at the end of the first half just to stop the pain of watching the offense self destruct. Then came the 3rd quarter. I must be to simple minded. High school football you've got to love it. The surprises never seem to end. Go Riders

Calculating us at 3rd in the region after week 6. Clear Fork got a bunch more 2nd level pts from their win over Wooster than we did from West Holmes.

    Elyria Cath - 12.266
    Clear Fork - 12.05
    Orrville - 11.9
    Genoa - 10.63
    Triway 8.2
    Edison - 6.783
    OG - 5.966

As of right now....Triway would travel to OG. They cn score huge points with a win over Manchester....so can Orrville with a win over Ashlnd this week.

You mean triway to Genoa :)
  • Old Rider
Would love to see a Triway - Genoa game. 2 totally different styles.
  • OQB
    Defense this week:

    3 down lineman
1 LB that spies Fuller (Monheim)
7 DB's (Turner, Simpson, Brenner, Rice, Woods, Davis, Graber)

How bad is Pirman, and will he be out??

BRF is happy with the completion of a Trifecta for the weekend! Wins by the Riders, Buckeyes and Browns! Anybody else think like that? If you pause and reflect, all 3 overcame adversity to claim their wins.

    2 out of 3 :(

Riders are you a Bengals fan?

    Hasnt happened since September 26, 27 & 28th of 2008.

Orrville beat Mansfield Sr, Ohio St beat Minnesota and the Browns beat Cincy.

The Trifecta is a rare thing, apparently.
  • OQB
I would've thought it happened more often, I guess the Browns just really mess that up.
