    I'm not surprised.
Since you're only 12, have you seen a live pair of tits yet? Mike Browns don't count, BTW.

There was no way of slowing down mismatches. Sometimes the other team just has the advantage..

Tell me devil, what would you have done differently? Brown tried putting different guys on certain Magic players, he tried to go small, he tried to go "bigger"... None of it worked. We were simply BEAT by the better team. Nothing more, nothing less.. Besides, it happened last season, I think it's time to LET IT GO.

Hey...shit happens all the time. Back in 1969, the Colts were favored by 18 points over Namath's Jets. Jets won 16-7. Had they played the following Sunday, the Colts would have been favored by 17 points.

Against the Lakers, the Magic had the exact same looks and missed them.

The matchup argument is overrated. Are the Atlanta Hawks better than the Celtics this year? You won't find one NBA guru that would buy that....despite Atlanta blowing out Boston twice in the Garden and once at home.

Kudos to the Magic for playing way over their heads and upsetting the heavily favored Cavaliers.

    Magic regular season 3pt%- .381

    Magic Playoff 3pt%- .359

    Magic/ Cavs series 3pt% .401

Thats not an anomole, a freak of nature, a lightning strike, hitting the lottery type of thing IN ANY WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting what I already knew. Maybe you need a math lesson. .401 is signifantly higher than .359. Or 381 for that matter

And the .359 illustrates even further that the Magic lit it up against Cleveland...and not the Lakers. Do you want me to post the Magic's 3% against the Lakers?

    I didn't think so.

Like I said...congrats to the Magic for pulling off one of the biggest upsets in sports history.

Yeah .381 is a big difference from .407.

Its the equivalent of making 2 more 3- pt shots out of 100.

Now that's lighting it up. I'm done arguing with a 12 yr old who obviously has no clue, but I already knew that.

I agree with skyhook on this one..

Exactly. The Magic averaged 10.0 3 pointers per game in the regular season, 10.33 per game in that Cavs series. That's barely a difference.

One of the greatest upsets in sports history?

I usually don't do this, but this is a serious, and I mean

    SERIOUS, GTFO!

Besides, it's Cleveland Sports. It should never be put in that context.

Well, I'm not going to resort to namecalling or anything, because it's not that serious to me, but I don't get how someone can call that Orlando series "One of the biggest upsets in Sports history"... That is just absurd..

^^^Dude...give it a rest. Like I told you....this is the internet. You think Mike Brown is a shit coach, I think he's a good coach. You and others think the Magic were better than the Cavs last year, others don't...and we think it was an upset...which happens in sports.

Now...you want to continue your high school humor all night long? Or do you want to grow up a little. The choice is yours. If you think that your high school garbage offends me, well think again.
  • h2thaizzo
Me either. The only thing I can say about that series is that I don't remember ever witnessing another team blow huge leads on more than one occasion. Blew a 15 point halftime lead game one, almost blew game two after being ahead by 23 at one point, up by 17 after first quarter of game 5, then only managed to lead by one going into halftime, then just shit ourselves game six. We definitely weren't head and shoulders above the Magic, though. Afterall didn't we go 1-2 against them in the regular season, including an almost 30 point stomping in the final reg season match up?

Aren't you the guy who asked how old I was? I'd say you have a lot of growing up, rather shutting up to do. I don't care if I offend you or not, you're stupidity offends all of mankind.

While blowing leads isn't good, it happens in the NBA. The first half is basically worthless.. That's why the old saying of "It's the NBA, everybody makes a run" was established...

Given the way Orlando shot 3's, it was only a matter of 6 or 7 possessions to get back into the game... I don't see that happening this year though, as we match up much better.

And yes, we went 1-2 against them last season.. Including playoffs we were 3-6. Clearly Orlando was the better team. You don't win 6 out of 9 unless you are the better team. And that game down in Orlando towards the end of the season was a travesty..
  • devil1197
Yeah we got curbstomped late in the season by Orlando.

Well...when was the last time a 6-1 underdog won a series? 6-1 is a pretty big upset in my book.

.....and I didn't set the odds...the people in Vegas did. Give them a call LTrain, and see what they have to say.

You and others have every right to disagree with my opinion. But one should be a little careful when disputing some facts.

Maybe you missed my link showing that the Cavs were 6 to 1 favorites. You ya go.

    From Danny Sheridan...national sports handicapper...

"Danny Sheridan's odds: Cavaliers favored 6:1 for the series; Cavaliers 5:7 and Magic 15:1 against winning the NBA title".

    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2009-05-19-matchup-cavaliers-magic_N.htm

Or this bookie shop that had the Cavaliers at 8.5 to 1. (that's what -850 means). You lay bet $85 to win a lousy 10 spot.

    http://www.betonline.com/sports-betting/basketball/cavaliers-magic-odds1

Now..if you want to compare and contrast. The undefeated Patriots were only a 3 to 1 choice to beat the Giants in the Super Bowl 3 years ago. We all know that the Giants shocked the world by beating New England.

So...according to the odds makers....the Cav loss was twice as shocking as the Giants upsetting the Patriots.
  • hoops23
Dude, I don't give two shits about Vegas odds.. The stats and outcomes tell the truth, not bookies...

3-6 including playoffs DOES NOT equate to being the better team... smh...
  • h2thaizzo
So now the only numbers that matters are 66-16 regular season and the 6-1 odds that the bookies had us favored by? OOOOOk then.
  • devil1197
    Odds?

The odds were huge because the Cavs went 8-0 before meeting the Magic.

If a sane and intelligent person looked at the regular season, the odds wouldn't have been 6-1.

The Magic owned the Cavs in the regular season and Brown made no adjustments to the ass kickings.

Well dude....that's what determines the size of an upset. If you don't understand the basic principles regarding probability and statistics, then I can't help you here.

Going into the series last year...the Cavs were 39 and 1 at home. They had just swept 8 straight games. That is why they were so heavily favored.

And that is why it is considered quite an upset. You questioned me on how anyone could make such a statement...and I've explained it to you.

    smh...and rme.

Now this is a sensible reply. Finally someone gets it. It is your opinion that the odds should not have been that long. I'll buy that.

Yet...before the games started, as many people were betting on the cavs as were betting on the magic. And people who bet on the cavs lost a small fortune.

Opposed to the ridiculous bullshit you subject everyone on this thread to read through? Actually, as I recall, I posted my stance on Mike Brown, and you decided to take the personal route of calling names and shit way before me. And yet you tell me to grow up? Get a clue.
  • Footwedge
What I said was...I'm sick and tired of cleveland fans bitching about this basketball team...including the coach. Shawn1515 ruined every Cav thread last year with his bitching.

Last year...and so far this year, the Cavaliers have provided great entertainment for Cleveland sports fans. Lord knows it's long, long overdue.

Instead of ripping on them at every chance, why don't you reflect on how good this team is...and that extends from ownership, through general management, through the coaching staff and the players?

If you want to complain...go to the Browns threads or the tribe threads....where bitching is justified.

You are entitled to your opinion on Brown. The internet gives you the opportunity to speak your peace. You've said yours and I've said mine.

Your sigline is quite sophomoric...typical of a 25 year old...and shows that you take this place way too seriously. Just sayin.
  • h2thaizzo
IMO it's not long overdue, winning a ring is long overdue. I've seen this team compete the last five seasons, and I see this team making the same mistakes they made last year, mistakes that led to their demise in the playoffs, mistakes that aren't going to allow them to beat good basketball teams if they don't fix. I'm not into the whole celebrating the wins and forgetting the losses kind of thing, one bit. I can turn your thoughts around on you...Instead of praising them every chance you get, why don't you reflect on how much this team needs to improve in order to win anything other than meaningless games? It can go both ways man. I saw us lose a game that we had absolutely zero reason to lose, I'm going to speak my mind. As far as the sigline, when I see a few more respectful posts from you to me, yes, you started the shit, so its up to you to end it, then I'll change the sig.
