2017 Browns Off-Season Thread

Oh, he's still a bitch boy who loves to rag on the Browns. Should be very interesting as 92.3 is having a draft "roundtable" this Wednesday at the Hard Rock Casino here in Cleveland. La Canfora, MKC & the local hosts from 92.3 will be fielding questions. I'm sure La Canfora is going to take some heat for his anti-Cleveland type takes.Commander of Awesome;1842941 wrote:Ah yes, I believe you're correct. Regardless, La Canfora is still a butt hurt bitch boy. -
like_thatJust want to chime in to say La Confora can go fuck himself. Would he even have a job without Lombardi feeding him bullshit?

ohiobucks1Only read the last three pages so I apologize if any of this has already been posted but:
1. I agree with the people saying pass on Watson. Don't think he has the arm strength to succeed in the Cleveland wind/weather. I'm praying for Mahomes at 33 or else wait until 2018 with Darnold/Rosen/Allen.
2. If we don't take Garrett #1 overall at this point, I'm done (baring an insane trade). Don't fuck it up.
3. At 12 my favorite players are (in order - only semi realistic options): 1)Hooker 2)Adams 3)McDowell 4)OJ Howard 5)Thomas 6)Mike Williams (unlikely) 7)Best Available CB.
4. Pryor is an idiot, he's dead to me.
5. I love what we've done with the line. Let's get Crow locked up. I also wouldn't mind drafting Mixon in the 3rd. Either we, as a society, tell these dudes that its a 1 strike and you're done policy when it comes to hitting women or we give him a second chance like we have with many many other people. I don't believe you can selectively decide which guys deserve to be in the league and which don't (looking at you teams that have employed Tyreek Hill, TJ ward, Greg Hardy, Davone Bess, Adam Jones, etc).
6. I would trade all 3 of our 2018 seconds for Jimmy G if he signed a reasonable long term deal.
7. Lastly, I'd like to see the browns go heavy on D (if we dont get a QB) in this draft. Let's get a Defense and solid O-line in place for a QB that we draft next year. We can also add weapons with our abundance of 2nd round picks next year. -
Benny The JetI agree with everything except #4. I could care less about Pryor. But everything else...spot on. Load up that D and Line and get that #1 QB next offseason.ohiobucks1;1842990 wrote:Only read the last three pages so I apologize if any of this has already been posted but:

Commander of AwesomeI don't agree with waiting on a QB. That's been our MO since Quinn/Weeden.

I don't think anyone is worth the #1 or 12 pick. If someone falls to Rd.2 great, if now...meh. I don't believe any of these guys are franchise QB's. Reminds me of the '13 class.Commander of Awesome;1843005 wrote:I don't agree with waiting on a QB. That's been our MO since Quinn/Weeden. -

I sort of like Mahomes and Webb as developmental guys. However, waiting until next yr is also a shitty bet, rememebr last season everyone was JO-ing to Kizer at the #1 pick, now he's likely a rd2/3 guy. Have a guy, stick to him, and develop the guy.Benny The Jet;1843007 wrote:I don't think anyone is worth the #1 or 12 pick. If someone falls to Rd.2 great, if now...meh. Agree 100%. Too many variables. If they somehow luck out and get 5 wins, they're probably screwed in getting the QB they want.Commander of Awesome;1843005 wrote:I don't agree with waiting on a QB. That's been our MO since Quinn/Weeden.
My only issue is that if they don't go after JG or Cousins, there's nothing I like in this draft. Don't want any more "developmental guys." -

I disagree, but if Hue thinks so we prob wont get him if we pass at 12.iclfan2;1843015 wrote:Trubisky is easily worth the 12

ohiobucks1If we take Trubisky at 12, I trust Hue knows what he is doing, however, if we don't and Mahomes isn't there at 33, I'd rather wait til next year. I know people said Kizer could be #1 this year, but NOBODY had the critics and scouts talking like Darnold does. His buzz reminds me of Andrew Luck. Rosen and Allen will probably be higher rated than any of these QBs come next year.

BR1986FBBeen kind of dead lately on the free agency front. Likely because there's not much (worth a crap) left...
Field Yates‏Verified account @FieldYates 15h15 hours ago Source: the Browns hosted free agent S Bradley McDougald on a visit. He had 92 tackles, 10 PBU's and 2 INT's in 2016 with Tampa Bay. -

Mahomes at 12 is a huge reach. And that's coming from someone who is never going to be upset with taking a QB lolCommander of Awesome;1843086 wrote:He's a Columbus kid, from Dublin.

I've been following Sobo since bernie insider's days, he knows his shit. He's not the type to throw shit against the wall in hopes to get clicks or a convo going.SportsAndLady;1843093 wrote:Mahomes at 12 is a huge reach. I take it more of a sign that pundits/media catching up to the fact that Watson sucks ass (him before round 4 is a huge reach IMO), Mahomes has most upside, and playing experience, Kizer doesn't love football, and Turbisky is small sample size guy. -

It wouldn't surprise me. I think it would be dumb, but it wouldn't surprise me. I've seen stuff where Webb might be creeping in to the back end of the 1st round.SportsAndLady;1843093 wrote:Mahomes at 12 is a huge reach. Thinking same thing. He's def in play at 33, can't discount that Hue worked with him at the senior bowl.BR1986FB;1843098 wrote:It wouldn't surprise me. I think it would be dumb, but it wouldn't surprise me. I've seen stuff where Webb might be creeping in to the back end of the 1st round. -

As you well know, teams are so desperate to find that "pot of gold" to solve their QB problems that guys that were projected 3rd rounder's can become 1st rounder's in the snap of a finger. Guys like Mahomes & Webb could now be 1st round picks when a few months ago they were considered 3rd (maybe 2nd for Mahomes) or later. Carson Wentz was a prime example. Kind of came out of nowhere to be picked where he was.Commander of Awesome;1843100 wrote:Thinking same thing. He's def in play at 33, can't discount that Hue worked with him at the senior bowl. -

I think this class is similar to the 14 QB class. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.BR1986FB;1843104 wrote:As you well know, teams are so desperate to find that "pot of gold" to solve their QB problems that guys that were projected 3rd rounder's can become 1st rounder's in the snap of a finger. sleeperNone of the Qbs in this class will ever start a meaningful game in the NFL. The only exception being is if they get drafted by the Patriots and Tom Brady gets hurt in the AFC Championship game and they have to start the Super Bowl. Then we'll have Browns fans wanted to trade their entire draft to get this Qb where he will be out of the league in <2 years.

He'd be a nice fit with their WRs. His arm is yuge.Ironman92;1843141 wrote:Researching the Texans most of their mocks had him going to Houston in Rd 1

BR1986FBJosh Cribbs finally retired yesterday. Went out as a Cleveland Brown.
On the FA front, the Browns, along with about 3 other teams, are looking at WR Rod Streater. Dude is lightning fast (4.37) but pretty much a JAG. -
Commander of AwesomeJoe Thomas on @923TheFan talking up Shon Coleman. "I think he's going to be a really good tackle." Thinks he'll do well if he wins RT job.
Bye bye Erving, ya bum -
BR1986FB
Thomas has been great since he got on social media. He has that old man "I don't give a fuck what I say" attitude. It's actually pretty refreshing. Where most of these athletes have the politically correct/close to the vest responses, JT really doesn't care what he says or who he says it to.Commander of Awesome;1843675 wrote:Joe Thomas on @923TheFan talking up Shon Coleman.
