Straily doesn't suck. He's no all-star or anything but he could fit somewhere on a decent team. (Even if it's long relief man)Azubuike24;1797495 wrote:Fixed. -

He sucks. Released by 2 teams in the last 2 years. 4.36 FIP yet a 3.43 ERA says he's pitching far over his head. 27 walks in 60 innings is an unsustainable pace to have an ERA under 3.5. He has done a good job at missing bats, but at best, he's a reliever on a shitty team.Ironman92;1797507 wrote:Straily doesn't suck. So maybe that's harsh, he's having an okay season. But I'd bank that is falls apart before he becomes of any value to the Reds. And given his league minimum contract, say he does have an okay year, he isn't worth actually paying any money. -
thavoiceStraily is the not-so-fat girl that hangs out with the obese crowd and just looks better because of the others around her.
Just heard about Thom B last night. Hope everything goes alright. I wouldnt hold it against him if he took an extra...oh, 3 months to recover..... -

Lol, yeah. Well, he probably wouldn't mind being active to do his national gig. Just save his voice for then and skip all the local stuff. If that means no more of those lame-ass commercials for that one business that he's been doing, I won't complain.thavoice;1797519 wrote:Straily is the not-so-fat girl that hangs out with the obese crowd and just looks better because of the others around her.

As long as he doesnt bring back the Arroyo/Welsch "Together again" commercials for JTM I am fine with it!Heretic;1797530 wrote:Lol, yeah. This says that you are banking on him sucking. You gotta earn suck.Azubuike24;1797509 wrote:He sucks. WHIP isn't bad. He walks too many but that also means he doesn't give in every time it's 2-0, 3-1 etc and that can be part of pitching over his metrics. Low-ish WHIP helps the ERA stay down also. He isn't pitching in pitcher's parks and not against the Braves every other game either.
He doesn't suck yet. -
thavoiceLamb apparently threw well last night. Didn't bother watching with hockey on of course.
Thing with him is he doesn't have fantastic stuff so days he is off he is just gonna get drilled. As far as being just a bullpen guy...don't tend to see many finesse lefties in the pen. Most seem to be a power guy or at least one with some nasty stuff to a lefty. Lamb doesn't fit either of those categories. -
Ironman92Offense is returning for a 3 game win streak. Hamilton warming up, Votto showing signs, Duvall now on fire and Suarez goes from 0-28 to 6 for his last 8 with 3 HR. Cozart looking like an all-star. Bruce leading MLB in triples and has been an extra base hit machine of late.
Bullpen sucks very much bad still but I have enjoyed these games since the 17 run debacle -
Ironman921st play of the game and Billy makes the defensive play of the week. Such a difficult play going into the wall. Awesome
-
Ironman92Duvall!
-
gerb131Playing some decent ball lately.
-
Ironman92Damn effing horse shit. I walk back in from mowing and it's 10-9 with bases loaded and 0 outs. Pressure on the PITCHER...not the Reds though. Anyone that knows anything knows a non-power closer like Papelbon isn't cream puffing a fastball to a rookie. Duvall swings way too eagerly and pops up like Paul Janish. Cozart fell for the bait as well.
Closers don't compile 350 saves by giving in when the going gets tough.
Horse shit plate approaches bailed that fucker out. -
Midstate01That's a tough way to lose, and one that should never happened. BUT the reds have been playing decent and the young guys are fun to watch.

friendfromlowryBack to back miserable showings from Moscot.
-
thavoiceMoscot needed a good outing and didn't get it done.
Iglesias is coming back soon and they said he will only be in the pen the rest of the season.
Had a bad feeling when they went up 5-0 and the cowboy said when you score 5 runs you should win the game. I knew that was the kiss of death. -
se-alumRebuild mode? Why do we keep trotting out Simon and his 9+ era? The best thing going for the Reds is it's looking like Bruce may have some significant trade value at the deadline if he can keep hitting.

I was out with some friends watching the early innings of the game and we were wondering the same thing. I mean, they have to have anything resembling a warm body in Louisville who (a) would do better than Simon and (b) has a potential future with the organization. Because Simon has been pure garbage since partway through last year and has shown no signs of consistently doing anything right.se-alum;1798408 wrote:Rebuild mode? They have a couple of guys they like but wont bring up for awhile because of $$ and time in service. They aren't necessarily tearing it up down there but are considered good prospects but if they bring them up now it starts their TIS clock. They know this year isn't about winning so they are not going to "waste" a year and bring them up.Heretic;1798493 wrote:I was out with some friends watching the early innings of the game and we were wondering the same thing. Azubuike24June 15th is the key day for Super 2. Look for Reed and Stephenson full-time by July or August. Peraza should be up again, and Winker possibly in September. It would be nice to get to really get a solid look at Lamb, DeSclafani and Lorenzen in the pen.

And so long Simon and Ohlendorf?Azubuike24;1798559 wrote:June 15th is the key day for Super 2. Look for Reed and Stephenson full-time by July or August. Azubuike24Well it sounds like Lorenzen and Iglesias go right to the pen. So you will have Cingrani, Iglesias and Lorenzen there. DeSclafani will join Finnegan, Lamb and hopefully Stephenson and Reed in the rotation. Sounds like Bailey won't be back. Straily and Wood, although not good, don't deserve to lose their spots. Everyone else can hit the road...

I've always thought Iglesias could be electric out of the pen. If Lorenzen can hit his spots maybe but I don't quite feel he'll be much better than what is now.Azubuike24;1798586 wrote:Well it sounds like Lorenzen and Iglesias go right to the pen.
