I understand that he affects roughly a handful of players, so it's hard for the Union to draw a line in the sand for a few kuckleheads, but this is ridiculous.ts1227;1788589 wrote:The union fucked up big time during the last CBA when they basically dropped any of the gripes they had with Goodell in order to not miss a paycheck once the lockout got into August. HitsRusYou think the Browns would sign RG3 and STILL draft a QB @#2? ....No f***ing way.

RG3 is one of the worst qbs in the NFL. You think they should abandon finding a QB because they signed one of the worst qbs in the NFL? LOLHitsRus;1788591 wrote:You think the Browns would sign RG3 and STILL draft a QB @#2? ....No f***ing way. -

No, I think he's in the same boat as me. We don't think they should abandon finding a QB, but history shows (and our owner has proven anything but patient) the Browns look for the quick fix. And thus wouldn't draft one at 2 bc of RG3.SportsAndLady;1788594 wrote:RG3 is one of the worst qbs in the NFL. Exactly. If RG3 doesn't scream "Stop gap QB for another 2-14 season so we can get 2 seasons of high draft picks in a row" then I don't know what does.SportsAndLady;1788594 wrote:RG3 is one of the worst qbs in the NFL. I don't think they should, but I think they will. I can't rationalize why they would bring in RGIII if they still plan on drafting a QB early and starting him from day one.SportsAndLady;1788594 wrote:RG3 is one of the worst qbs in the NFL. HitsRusI'm staying with what I said a long time ago, that they are going to trade down and get a couple of extra high value picks. I think that is even more likely now that they lost 4 starters to FA and let a couple of others go. At the end of last year, they needed to upgrade 11-14 positions....now it's even more. I think if they sign RG3, it's a clear indication that they are going to try to stock as much young talent that they can, and pursue the franchise QB next year.
If no RG3...then there is a high probability that they'll go QB at #2, although I still think the play is to move down a few spots and get an extra pick...they could still get one of the 2 top QB's at #7..... That is of course, if they could find a trading partner. -

Such a pipedream. Every year Browns fans say "trade down collect more first round picks and draft more starters!"HitsRus;1788607 wrote:I'm staying with what I said a long time ago, that they are going to trade down and get a couple of extra high value picks. It's a fucking pipedream. No team is going to unload a bunch of picks especially first rounders. And the Browns can't get any of their draft picks right, why would we think that adding more we'll just magically start drafting well and picking up starters?
And I'm not even going to mention how idiotic you are saying you don't want the best QB available on a team that has been desperate for a decent QB for decades.
I mean what the hell? -
Go4alOngbOmBJust another name to add to the Jersey Downtown, at this rate the poor guy is going to have to rent the space above him so it can hang properly.

Agree with this in principle. Big trades for high draft picks do happen but rarely at #2 and rarely from a team outside the top 10. RG3 might have been the last big trade to go down and it absolutely destroyed the Redskins so bad for little return. Most teams won't give up a lot to move up that much anymore.SportsAndLady;1788610 wrote:Such a pipedream. Even if we get a big trade package, I have zero confidence they will draft appropriately. -

Hue Jackson knows what an NFL franchise QB looks like, so if they decide to pass on a QB at#2, I'm ok with that. Let's keep in mind this regime is completely different from previous ones, and they will be making choices based on a different set of variables. And I'm not even going to mention how idiotic you are saying you don't want the best QB available on a team that has been desperate for a decent QB for decades -

So Hue Jackson has it all figured out then eh?HitsRus;1788647 wrote:Hue Jackson knows what an NFL franchise QB looks like, so if they decide to pass on a QB at#2, I'm ok with that. RGIII is the answer to our problems Cleveland! Hits says Hue Jackson knows what to look for! All those championships he won with a top QB--oh wait. -

It does not logically follow that the new regime will continue on the same path of futility as previous ones.Said every new regime since 1999. -

Well, I think I'm on pretty solid ground when I say he knows more than you.SportsAndLady;1788663 wrote:So Hue Jackson has it all figured out then eh?

BR1986FBThis whole thing is going to be contingent on whether Jackson and the brass is sold on Goff or Wentz as a franchise QB that can lead this team to a championship. If they're not, you don't (broken record) take a QB at 2 just for the sake of doing it. I don't want to see them draft some guy who turns into a Weeden/Ponder/Geno Smith piece of crap just because they "need a QB." If they feel they'd be better off rolling the dice toward 2017 and prefer someone else, so be it.
I don't think they have any impression whatsoever that RG3 is going to be "the guy." I do think it's possible that they could be taking the "build the team so you can plug in a QB" approach. It's probably going to piss off a lot of people but, oh well. -
HitsRus
I wouldn't think they think that at all. They may feel that signing him will allow them to defer the "franchise QB pick" to next year and better use their #2 pick this year to improve the team in general. Now that is predicated on their evaluation of the QB talent this year as not being worthy of spending a #2 pick on.So Hue Jackson has it all figured out then eh?

These are kind of my thoughts. They may be using Griffin as a piñata until they can get the O-Line fixed and move forward. If RG3 bounces back and shows some worth, bonus !HitsRus;1788675 wrote:I wouldn't think they think that at all. Yeah, did Holgrem know more too?HitsRus;1788667 wrote:Well, I think I'm on pretty solid ground when I say he knows more than you.
Knowing more is irrelevant. Poor performance and winning nothing are what matters. What has Hue Jackson won? -
HitsRusMore than you.

BR1986FBJust read an article where it wouldn't be a surprise for a team like the Eagles to offer their #8 pick to move up to #2.

I want the RG3 draft deal + some if that happens. 3 1st rounders and 2 second rounders, + some late round picks.BR1986FB;1788681 wrote:Just read an article where it wouldn't be a surprise for a team like the Eagles to offer their #8 pick to move up to #2.
I don't want some shitty Magini deal involving players and trash picks. I want the kitchen sink. -
