All of those arguments work against Mariota too? Better passer than RGIII, but will he ever be elite?

    He is bigger too, no??

But, I have never been a Marriota fan.

Hue Jackson has already made the comment "we tailor the system to the players" (or something to that effect) so he's not going to try to make RG3 another Peyton Manning. Griffin is a very gifted athlete who they will somehow try to harness, for at least the short term.

As long as they stay true to their draft, I'm fine with it. Unless it was a huge smokescreen, the way they were fawning over Wentz at his Pro Day today (only team to give him instruction), I'd expect them to take a QB at 2 and have them compete.
The reason Geuden tried to make him a pocket passer is because thats what wins superbowls , there hasnt been a superbowl won from outside the pocket. The redskins and 30 other teams in a QB starved league didnt want Griffin , what does that tell you? The Browns are looking like a 2-14 season coming. they cant draft a qb next draft

Have you seen the roster?? They're a 2-14 team with or without him at qb..

I still believe the number 2 pick will be wentz. They would be stupid to put all there eggs in one basket with RGIII

I know it would be a luxury to be able to let someone like Wentz sit & learn. I heard a stat that the last "several" QB's that were taken at #1 or #2 (Winston, Mariota, RG3, Luck, Newton, Stafford & Bradford) all started from day 1. I like Wentz but I don't think any of these QB's are ready to start for awhile, which would kind of suck (want an immediate contributor).

On a side note, saw an article about a potential Browns/Eagles draft day trade. Eagles would get #2 this year while the Browns would slide down to #8 and get a 2016-2nd, 2017-1st & 2nd. Would you pull the trigger on this?

Not a believer in sitting/learning on the bench at all. QB at #2, they need to start day 1. No penis flickers.

I'd want more than honestly. Maybe add a 2016- 4th and 6th rounder.

And before anyone says that's ridiculous, the Rams got 3 1sts and a 2nd rounder for moving from #2 to #6. In the proposed trade, Browns only getting 2 1sts and 2 - 2nds for moving from #2-#8. I want more.

I do like they are stockpiling QBs

If they think any QB is franchise good, then you keep the pick and take them. If not, you jump on that (almost definitely nonexistent) eagles trade immediately.

They HAVE to stockpile QB's, we are getting rid of our good line. Which means every one of the QB's we have will be running for their god given lives. We couldnt stop a blitz with 2 All Pro's.....what will we do with 5 scrubs?

Yeah, in hindsight, not sure how "good" that O-Line was. Pretty sure they gave up the second most sacks in the league last year plus they couldn't run the ball worth a shit. To quote a few on here, right now I'm not "QQing" over the loss of Mack & Schwartz. The QB's were running for their "god given" lives last year so not much is going to change, imo.
  • Go4alOngbOmB
I can not disagree BR1986FB. They did look like a bunch of "LOOK OUT" blockers last season.

But giving up Mack was.....huge in my eyes, that is the QB of the O line.

If we end up trading Thomas, we better get some value.

Dansby signing with Cincy. Does he have anything left as a backup LB?

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 5m5 minutes ago The #Bengals are signing LB Karlos Dansby today, source said. The former #Browns defender visited last week.

Who are your starters? He might end up starting for them. He's still solid but he's lost a step. At least 10x's better than what you have in AJ Hawk.
  • Azubuike24
    Maualuga, Burfict, Hawk, Rey.
  • friendfromlowry
They're going to need him when Burfict inevitably gets suspended again.

    Browns cut Whitner
  • Azubuike24
Browns cut Ifo Ekpre-Olomu too. What's the story here? He's pretty talented and drafted last year? Why wouldn't a team going nowhere just stash him?
  • Lovejoy1984
Sounds like he's probably done. That Knee is beyond fucked.

He was bitching that they waited so long and taking shots at the moneyball philosophy on Twitter as well.
  • IggyPride00
This organization is a complete and utter joke.

Jimmy might run the biggest profit in NFL history this season.
  • Midstate01
I liked that Whitner came home, and it was cool, but he was absolutely terrible. Couldn't cover and couldn't tackle. I won't miss him.
