  Surprisingly, this doesn't bother me because if they do it right, they will build this team for sustained success. By the time the guys they draft pan out, Roethlisberger & Flacco should be fading and who knows where the Hell Dalton will be,

  Anyone who won't be part of the 2018 team is completely replaceable for someone cheaper, even if not as good.

  Wouldn't QQ to see him see the field more in TC/Preseason and see if he can make more plays like this. Same with Desir.

  You know if this team goes 1-15 or 0-16, which isn't out of the realm of possibility, dumbass fans will lose their mind. I'm sure I sound like a broken record but I'm expecting, and have braced myself for, more miserable football than we're usually used to.

  There's no question he has physical talent but you hit the nail on the head with "done himself no favors." Just like Manziel, he wasn't prepared to go out there. When they have to put a scrub like Bademosi out there, you know there's no faith. Now I will give Pettine blame because he was the one who had a hard on for Gilbert & wanted him so badly.

  Actually, over the course of his stay in Cleveland, Bademosi made quite a few nice plays. He should've never been on the field covering people though.

  Yeah, even the expansion 1999-2000 teams found a way to win a couple of games. I just think they are going to be trotting out lineups that look like they're straight out of "Major League." The new QB will be the only big "draw" to watch them. I feel bad for season ticketholders who will likely sit through 7-8 home losses and some really ugly football.

  So far, yup. If Dansby is correct about him turning a corner, and his desire/work ethic increases, it's up the coaching staff to put him in position to use hit physical talents. That's what good teams do.

  Realistically, because Gilbert's under contract, the obvious thing to say would be "keep him around and see if he's moldable." But the fact that he's a lazy fuck, with no work ethic, who still thinks he's good and has had some off the field distractions says "get rid of him." I'd expect that they will want to look at him but I don't think he gets it, nor will he.

  They can only hope the fans are capable of understanding that a 2-14 team could be closer to being good in a couple of years than a 6-10 team.

  That's been my take. If they get the QB, they should be pretty good in about 3 years (maybe sooner).
  
  As I've said, I've resigned myself to the fact that we (the fans) are very likely in for some bad football for awhile. This has been a long time coming and well needed. Knee jerk fans will probably lose their shit over how bad they will be but, if done right, it's for the greater good, in the long run. Just going to be a few more years of pain (hopefully).
  
  Kind of an "expect the worst, hope for the best" type of mindset.

  LOL....not every year. I know that coming out of 2007, optimism was high for the team and they laid an egg. Last year, coming off a 7 win season, many thought they'd be better than they were.
  
  I guess I should've phrased it more like "expect them to suck REALLY bad and any wins will be a surprise/bonus until they get their crap together."
