These are based on what exactly? We've gotten Savage, Heckert, and Holmgren in here. All of which were "top candidates".HighRoller74;1771665 wrote:This was really all you needed to say. Cleveland will not get a known GM regardless of who the coach is or is not. We will be stuck with a retread or a young up-and-coming guy trying to make his mark where he couldn't care less of who his head coaches the front office is such a dumpster fire anyone proving will not touch it unless they have Cleveland hometown ties.
Homlgren and Heckert came here and kept womangini. It's possible. -
Laley23I might be the only person who thinks Connor Cook is going to be a very good pro. Everyone I talk to thinks he will suck (with a few OKs). Lol
-
Lovejoy1984And outside of Holmgren, they were all guys looking to make their make in the league, and get their first job as "the Man", which is what I claimed was possible.
I don't see us getting a highly sought after, well known GM. With the quick trigger that Haslam, has shown these guys aren't going to risk coming here, and not getting immediate results, and being shown the door. -

The biggest red-flag I have with him, is he doesn't have the leadership qualities needed for a Top QB.Laley23;1771672 wrote:I might be the only person who thinks Connor Cook is going to be a very good pro. Everyone I talk to thinks he will suck (with a few OKs). Lol -

I haven't gotten to sit down and watch MSU with that keen of an eye to be judging something like that, but curious as to what you see (or don't see)??HighRoller74;1771674 wrote:The biggest red-flag I have with him, is he doesn't have the leadership qualities needed for a Top QB. -

Well he is an all American senior QB and wasn't voted a team captain lol so that's a start.Laley23;1771675 wrote:I haven't gotten to sit down and watch MSU with that keen of an eye to be judging something like that, but curious as to what you see (or don't see)?? -

Maybe I misunderstand you, I think Farmer was the JFF champion and Petite was reluctant to start such a erratic player.like_that;1771638 wrote:That tells me they are ok to roll out Jff next season. -

Just speculating if they keep Pettine they would tell him he needs to roll with Jff next year and not play revolving penis flickers with the QB position.Sonofanump;1771687 wrote:Maybe I misunderstand you, I think Farmer was the JFF champion and Petite was reluctant to start such a erratic player. -

Well if they're a "high sought after" GM, that would mean they're proven and successful correct? If they're proven and successful, they already have a job with a proven and successful organization. Why would they leave to make a lateral move? This arguement/QQing going on in this thread is asinine. Might as well say, lets sign Tom Brady, a proven and successful QB. There's a reason you don't see Ozzie Newsome leave the Ravens for fucks sakes.HighRoller74;1771673 wrote:And outside of Holmgren, they were all guys looking to make their make in the league, and get their first job as "the Man", which is what I claimed was possible.

There's probably 7 highly sought after GM's in the NFL, no shit the Browns aren't going to get one.
Now, that being said, I think there will be some sought after HC's that I think the Browns lose out on (if they do Fire Pettine, which they should). -

Thinking about some of the "big" FA Coaches we have missed on. Chip, LOL. Doug Marrone, LOL. Trestman? LOLSportsAndLady;1771700 wrote:Agree with this.

LOL good point. You won't see the media coming back to say they were wrong about them and for giving the Browns a hard time during their hiring process though.Commander of Awesome;1771701 wrote:Thinking about some of the "big" FA Coaches we have missed on. I don't think they should fire pettine for the sole reason of continuity. The Browns have a bad enough reputation in terms of stability. It might be taking a step backward, but in the long run it might have the franchise by giving pettine a third year.SportsAndLady;1771700 wrote:Agree with this.

Yeah, I'm firmly in the keep petty pett camp. One thing I might take away from him, game day rosters. He's a fucking imbecile with that. Oh and DC has to go. Farmer, I could care less, he's done nothing to make me say keep him but I don't care if he stays. I want scouts to stay though. Revamping scouting system is hard on an organization.like_that;1771703 wrote:I don't think they should fire pettine for the sole reason of continuity. Off the top of my head, Mike zimmer and Bruce Arians were supposed to be Browns HC candidates.Commander of Awesome;1771701 wrote:Thinking about some of the "big" FA Coaches we have missed on. Chip, LOL. Doug Marrone, LOL. Trestman? LOL

I'm not QQ'ing you fucking moron. The Browns never get the "right" head coach. -

As for Zimmer, right there with you. You, like_that, and myself to name a few wanted him. However to my knowledge we passed or didn't even interview him smh (same as Arians). Thus he didn't spurn us, aka turn us down. Which was my point. Chip, strung us along to increase his salary with the iggles. -

My bad it sounded like you were saying the QQ thing to me when I said we won't get top notch HC candidates.Commander of Awesome;1771732 wrote:No one said you were QQing little guy. It was highroller and br QQing.

I think we did interview Arians, but we got too butthurt when he told us what was wrong with the franchise and he walked out. Smh -
Lovejoy1984
If I recall correctly, we interviewed him....he told the Hiring group all the stuff wrong with the organization, and we didn't bring him back for a 2nd.Commander of Awesome;1771732 wrote:No one said you were QQing little guy. It was highroller and br QQing.

I remember that store, wasn't sure who if it was Wizenhunt or Zimmer. Didn't Arians basically beg for an interview and we say nah bc Lerner had a chub for Womangini?HighRoller74;1771743 wrote:If I recall correctly, we interviewed him....he told the Hiring group all the stuff wrong with the organization, and we didn't bring him back for a 2nd. -
BR1986FBLet's see what Pettine does, if anything, with this.....

If he benches him again, I'd say that is pretty petty. -
Lovejoy1984As long as Manziel doesn't lie to him about it, I think nothing will happen.
