I don't think Elliot is the answer

I think this is a good point. Drove down the field a few times in the 4th with a chance to tie or take the lead. Settled for a field goal, missed badly on 4th down, and time ran out on that last pass. His scrambling abilities keep drives alive, but I think it hurts his ability to pass. Probably too tired to make an accurate throw when he's running all over the damn place.

    Manziel. 13/32 passing.

Tell me more about how Manziel is the future in Cleveland.

Pretty much agree with all points of like_that's post. I want them to grab a QB, but I just don't know if that guy is in this draft.

Despite lackluster passing stats, Manziel drew praise from the Browns coaching staff including Mike Pettine, several Browns players, and the Kansas City defense.
Donte Witner commented," I think we have the starting quarterback for next year." And went on to say that he ( Manziel)is only going to get better with time and more work, and that his ability to extend plays with his legs frustrates a defense.... A fact to which Kansas City defensive players concurred.

    Just sayin'.....

    That literally means nothing.

I have already said a few posts earlier in this thread, that the bottom line is "W".
But in terms of player evaluations for next year, everything goes in the mix. He got positive reviews from people who know a lot more than you do.

Who gives a fuck what Donte Whitner says? WHat has he ever done to be able to make a comment like that, where I would actually care?

Say one of the "top 3" QBs fall to the 2nd round. Would you be ok with drafting one of them? I think one of them will and if not that dude from NDSU everyone is high on will.

I think we should do the work required to evaluate who the top QB will be, and draft that QB with the top pick we'll have.

Trying to draft "value QB's" have doomed this franchise since '99.

Whitner should really keep his mouth shut & worry about his own play. Gipson & K'Waun Williams looked like they wanted to kill him when he blew coverage on that Kelce TD. I doubt Whitner is on this squad next year as he's done. With that being said, he IS entitled to an opinion.

So regardless of where he's rated whether it be the 3rd best player in the draft, or 20th, you want him taken top 2?

Yeah you're just being dramatic now

You guys know my stance on the draft. Take a QB with the top pick.

If you want to say "well if tom Brady is available with their 5th round pick, you'd rather take Jamarcus Russell with the #1?!?!" all you want. Point remains my stance is that we, as a franchise, have been buried by "waiting" to draft a QB and we've never been successful at doing it. We finally have the opportunity to draft the best QB available. So you do that.

Rumors swirling that ron Wolf will serve as a consultant to haslam to turn this thing around. Hopefully he will bring his e Eliot from the packers in to be our GM

That is how it works for QBs. By far the most important position on the field, the WAR to the next important position can't be close.

Looks like Pettine may be given another year, and Farmer showed the door. (per Bleacher Report)

That tells me they are ok to roll out Jff next season.

I find that hard to believe. I just don't see any GM worth his salt coming to a shitty team and NOT being able to pick his own head coach.

Comes from good bloodlines. This is what I was hoping for. Bring in a football guy (Ron Wolf) to help select the next GM.

Wouldn't necessarily be a fan of this but they'd better tell him to find a new D-Coordinator if he's back.

I'll believe it when I see it, Jason Cole can GFH.

I watched Star Wars 3-D instead of this game.

    Good choice.

Congrats to Johnny for setting franchise running record for qb's.

    On to 3-13.

No way a quality GM comes here and gets stuck with Pettine. Wont happen, so if the keep farmer they are going to promote from within. If Pettine stays O'Niel has to go

This was really all you needed to say. Cleveland will not get a known GM regardless of who the coach is or is not. We will be stuck with a retread or a young up-and-coming guy trying to make his mark where he couldn't care less of who his head coach is. The front office is such a dumpster fire anyone proven will not touch it, unless they have Cleveland hometown ties.
