2016 Browns Season Thread

Regardless of how he played in the one full game you watched of him, he's still by far the consensus best player in the draft. That said, Browns gotta take whoever they feel will have the biggest impact for the future.

I agree. I'm not saying he's going to be a bust, just that he has bust potential. I think it was Crimson on this thread who was saying he's a sure-fire lock for a good DE in the NFL. No way is that true, EVERYONE has bust potential.

I didn't say he's sure fire good DE, he has amazing potential and talent. He has a high motor and high character guy. He could have sat out the past 3 weeks the way his ankle is but he suits up and gives it his all. I didn't watch the game yesterday but other games he has just dominated. The couple plays I did see yesterday he blew by the tackle and dropped the RB in the back field for a loss. Obviously everyone has bust potential but I feel like he's a von miller/Suggs/ Harrison type player that can anchor your defense for the next 10 years

Agree with everything you said. I just don't agree with taking him 1 overall over a QB.

If we have the ability to take the #1 rated QB in the draft (for the first time since '99), and we take a DE, I'm going to be pissed. The Browns have struggled since '99 because we haven't had a franchise QB. We have teh ability to take the best option for a franchise QB, and we are going to pass to get someone to anchor our D-line?

DOn't get me wrong, the D-line is probably the second most important position to build on a football team. But we've been DESPERATE for a QB, and if we continue to trade down or pass on highly rated QB's, we will never be more than a 7 win team.

Those don't look like Browns uniforms
  • Ironman92
Anyone besides Calhoun and Taylor even trying? It looks like Browns playing defense 7 or 8 players.

This defense is the worst. Hill just running wild.

And that 2 and 6 play where they threw across the middle and no one was within 10 yards...

The first drive honestly looked like the d coordinator put $100,000 down on a bet that Bengals would score a TD on their first possession and offered $5,000 to everyone but Calhoun and Taylor

Carson Wentz already with 2 INTs and a fumble. He hasn't looked good since their bye week. Can we settle down on the "BROWNS SHOULD HAVE DRAFTED HIM" QQing?

No. Browns should have drafted him.

The Vikings have the best defense in the NFL. I'm not expecting a rookie to tear them up. Or even look decent.

Brownies have a little mo here now. Defense got a 3 and out and the offense looks capable.

Lol at Bengals. If they fall for that a 3rd time...well I just hope it happens

    Lol....and they just did. WTF?

Hey Cincy defense....Hogan isn't going to hand off....he gonna run.

    3 carries 38 yards

The bengals losing this game would be a bengals thing to do.

    Browns finally have a QB!

    Lol

    Also, Cam Erving sucks.
  • Ironman92
Wow, crazy shovel pass and gets destroyed. What a play though

I am still not sold on him at all. Eagles defense and running game have won most of their games. They have protected Carson with short routes and a good running game. In those 3 wins, he simply had to not fuck up. Without Lane Johnson, that plan has been exposed so far. If the defense isn't on for the eagles, the offensive game plan has to be much different than the "just don't make any mistakes carson" approach that hey have taken.

If there is anyone the Browns should have drafted at QB it should have been Dak.

I'm big on Wentz, overall, not just because of his 3 game start. Sounds like you are the opposite. Just difference of opinion on one player. Neither of us are wrong or right, right now.
  • iclfan2
Wow the browns ground game is destroying the Bengals defense right now. Hope Kessler comes back out
