Recently? He's make my top 50 for sure. And who cares if he makes top 200, that's not even a high bar and it pisses me off the Browns are ignoring it.

Lol CoA is so mad about this.

I am not particularly thrilled about it but like likethat said, there's way worse people out there working in the NFL.

Here is the thing..if you are going to bring in a scumbag with a lot of baggage he better be able to perform and put up numbers on the field. Not a secret how much you put up with correlates with how well he performs.

and I dont think this is a huge deal, but what message is this sending out? Hue said he wants to pick his brain about offense and QB's..... Isnt Jackson supposed to be his own genius offensively? I guess I just wonder what the players think when your offensive minded coach seems to be out of enough ideas that he has to bring in a punk like this.

I am not saying it's ok, but it's not even close to what we see from the NFL. Nothing to really get that worked up about. If you are this pissed about briles, then you should be just as pissed about the Browns doing nothing regarding Crowell posting a photo of a cop getting his neck sliced. You are also a big fan of JR Smith, you should be pissed about his off court antics.

I am not going to QQ about art showing up for a couple practices to help. I am sure there are other fucking idiots/scumbags/etc on the Browns coaching staff that we aren't aware of.

I was pissed about Crow, but he's taken accountability for his actions. I'm sure you read that he apologized and donated his first game check to that Texas police department. Art Briles hasn't done any of that from what I could find.

As for JR Smith, I found this article: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1764445-timeline-of-jr-smiths-off-the-court-antics-through-his-nba-career

Is there more I was unaware of? Him killing of his friends in a motor accident is indeed horrific, and I feel bad for his friend and his friend's family. The other stuff was hardly even on the same level as a history and intimidation of sexual assault. I get your deflection tactic, but fact remains Art Briles is a POS and I think it's a bad look.

Attributing all caps emotion to me I see, maybe if you weren't such a dramatic ***** you could say this is BS, you don't like it, it's not a good look, and you wish your team/HC used better judgement. Instead you try and diminish it, for what reason, I can't fathom.

He also recently shoved a teenager. Killing a friend due to being a complete fuck head driver (wasn't his first vehicle incident) is no big deal, just somebody's life was taken away. No one is saying Art is an angel, but you tend to get way too worked up about shit like this. You still seem to have this childhood innocence that every athlete and coach is a stand up individual. The sooner you realize most of these guys aren't role models, the better. Maybe you won't get too worked up. You can acknowledge a person is a piece of shit while he plays or coaches for your team. That's why I give Steelers fans shit about rapistberger. None of them acknowledge he is a piece of shit.

If you really can't handle it, you are more than welcome to stop rooting for the Browns.

hell the steelers have a two time rapist at QB, a druggie at running back and no one seems to care about that.....

What a dumb response. You're usually better than this. So because we can find examples of pro athletes being a POS (you even insinuate that most are POS, not true. Not true by a long shot), we can't even discuss the HC of a D1 college team being the ring leader of a large sexual assault scandal and how we don't like him being involved with our football team. Got it.

Well I think that's total BS, and will continue to call out hypocrisy and hold the Browns to higher standards than the fucking steelers (most steeler fans I know acknowledge he's a Piece of Garbage, but then talk about him getting his life turned around like it makes 3 rapes ok. If he were a browns player, I wouldn't be a browns fan. Refuse to root for a sack of shit like that.) I'm going to continue to call a spade a spade, thanks. Not going to follow the leader on that trashy logic. Yeah he's a POS but look over there! He's a POS too, so lets not discuss it!

You know who changed my mind about still rooting for the team even if some of the players are shitty people?

    Bengal fans.

Remember a number of years ago they had arrest after arrest after arrest. So many Bengal fans just stood out saying they didnt really care how they act off the field as long as they produce on Sunday. Yeah, we wish all our fav players could be choir boys but football players are a cross-section of the population. Some are upstanding citizens, and some are complete shit.

After awhile I just realized that fuck it, if a player can produce for the team then I dont really care how bad of a person he is. Sounds shitty, but at the end of the day I root for the name on the front of the uniforms with my sports teams, not the back.

I don't give a fuck if Briles is a special coach (whatever TF that means) on the Browns.

He didn't rape girls in Georgia bathrooms. I honestly don't care if the browns hire him or not.

    Stop being so dramatic.

No I am just saying you get worked up and cry every time. More so than most people. You seem to do that lately the past couple years, going out of your way to be offended. This literally has no bearing on your life. If the Browns were on their way to the SB you probably wouldn't even give a fuck. You also pick and choose what you want to be offended about when others do the same shit. And you just agreed with me. You can acknowledge somebody is a piece of shit for your team and move on. I am pretty sure we all acknowledge Art is a fuck boy at the very least. None of us are creating a bitch storm out of it though.

tl;dr: quit being an overdramatic little bitch.

If being a ***** means not being cool with a sexual assault enabler, then sure. I think the real ***** here is the guy downplaying despicable behavior.

I don't want to turn this into a political discussion, getting worked up about what Art allegedly did is no different than what Hillary allegedly did by trying to silence Bill's victims. You don't say shit about that, because it doesn't fit with your support for her. You don't call the redskins by name, yet you are an indians fan.

And yes COA, because I am not reacting the same way as you regarding Art, that means I support the JoePa statue. And you called my response dumb earlier? Excuse me while I LMAO.

First off, your deflection skills are uncanny. So just pointing out that Hillary "Attacking" victims of Bill Clinton's sexual assaults are false: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/oct/10/donald-trump/donald-trump-says-hillary-clinton-viciously-attack/ If this proves incorrect, fine. I'd re-evaluate. (Also I only support her over trump, wish both parties had better candidates. Also don't make it a habit to bring up Hillary in the FOOTBALL threads, lolfail but hey you have little ammo so I get you're using what you got.)

MOVING ON (hard for you to do). Redskin is a derogatory term. Indians isn't, but I still don't like it and would vote to change it. And I absolutely hate the Wahoo logo. It's time to change it, for good.

Ok. Now those two points are debunked (nice try), Joe PA was an enabler of child molestation. Just like Art Briles was an enabler of Sexual Assault. Not a huge leap there, all I'm saying.

Eh, he just turned a blind eye to a bunch of sexual assaults.

Eh, he just turned a blind eye to a bunch of kids being raped.

Deflecting? You asked me a quesiton and I answered it lolfail. You told me to give you examples, and I did. Hillary was the freshest example that came to me. Don't get butt hurt because the truth hurts. You pick and choose when to get offended.

lol politifact checking trump's quote is your way of deflecting her being a POS btw. The women themselves made the claim. You're not going to believe them, but believe everyone else when it comes to sexual assault (i.e. rapistberger)? Like I said, choosing when to get offended. As for the Indians and wahoo don't root for the team if it is so derogatory. You don't act like a offensive cry baby like you did with the redskins. Btw polls show that native americans don't give a fuck about the redskins name. And actually polls showed less people started to care once the Skins started to win again, but keep up the fight for something that has nothing to do with you! I am sure I can come up with other examples, but the whole point is the hypocrisy coming out of your cry baby storm.

As for JoePa, I am not condoning what he did, neither with Art. You are having a difficult time distinguishing between not condoning something and not being dramatic about it.

Also, 30+ years of hiding child molestation is not even close to what Art did, but that's another argument for another time.

    Damn lol.

Professional athletes will rip your heart and morals apart. It's always been that way. Growing up some of my favorite players: Doc Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, Vince Coleman....you know what screw it, too depressing and numerous to name the probable 100 athletes. So so many are spoiled or entitled or unable to handle the wealth coming from crap or just unable to break from the crap.

Even the ones you feel are damn near perfect athletes make you look stupid if you get attached. Roberto Alomar was my favorite player. He could do it all, then he fucking spits in front of the whole world on an umpire (later more than atoned but still)

I bought my 2 year old son a Michael Vick jersey...he looked awesome in it, then he's killing dogs SMH.

Again, 100's of examples. On the flip side the perfect type athletes are hated (Manning, Jeter, Ripken). I'm convinced there are zero teams with zero assholes, thugs, druggies, womanizers, cheaters etc.

I'm a goody two shoes that doesn't condone any of that nonsense but it's beyond rampant throughout the sports. I think it's dumb as hell and irresponsible as hell that LeVeon Bell keeps getting busted for weed but I'm able to be happy as fuck when he rushes for 120 and adds 80 yards receiving...And I've never even smoked a cigarette.

To enjoy sports, especially in this day and age with the ridiculous amount of social media info...you can't get too personal. I love dogs but still rooted for Michael Vick on every team he's played for. Some of you act like whatever the horrible activity the athlete did was to you or your significant other in your anger.

Before social media and quite honestly this site...I knew little to nothing about so many of the horrible things athletes have done. I always just watched the game, highlights and checked box scores. Yeah I heard about Pacman getting in trouble like 7 or 8 times but can't tell you what he did in any of them....I assume he's done the time or he wouldn't be playing or maybe he had the luxury to get out of stuff me or you couldn't...I don't know. I just like the games. I have little desire to know what they do off the field as long as they do the time if they do the crime.

I've despised the Browns since 1982 and hate druggies but I truly hope Josh Gordon finds a way to turn it around. I hope Vick keeps doing the right thing. I want Brandon Phillips to quit having kids in every state. I want LeBron to quit flopping and bitching about calls. I want Aroldis Chapman to be good to women and learn to speak English. I want James Harrison to help the opponent up. I want Joey Votto to fucking smile...but the negative be it small or prison worthy is rampant. I don't condone any of it and give good effort in ignoring it.

Lastly, I blame the news outlets. These guys are nonstop do I g great things with their money, power and high profile contacts. You might hear 1 out of every 100 good thing they are doing but not only do you hear every negative thing a high profile athlete does....they dwell on it ad nauseum.
  • Sonofanump
There are not too many Anquan Boldin's or Benjamin Watson's out there. They are there because of their athletic ability, not their personal atributes.
