Lol @ thinking that building a decent lead will prevent the Warriors from coming back and winning. Did you watch the Chicago series?

The Warriors are the ultimate "can't write us off at any point in the game" team because of their ability to catch fire. I won't think any lead is safe until the clock hits 0.0

And it's the flippin' NBA. The league that's based around teams seemingly erasing 15-20 point deficits in 5 minutes on a regular basis.

Reggie Miller erased a big lead in less than 10 seconds.

It's thavoice. You actually think he typed that post as serious commentary? That was just another effort in trying to bring a "thavoice" reverse jinx to Cleveland. I said it before, and I will say it again, thavoice is more concerned about Cleveland not winning a title than he is about any of his "teams" or anything in his life in general. He never posted in a Cavs thread the last 4 years, and all of a sudden the cavs make a run and he appears every other day LOL.

Inb4 he says something to the tune about how I stalk with him.

I am thinking that since it has been a long layoff it COULD hurt the team who relies on the outside shot more than a team like Cleveland. I can see GS starting slow in the game/series because of it and the cavs can steal game 1 on the road.

You realize during the playoffs the cavs have shot on average 1 less three pointer per game than the Warriors right?
  • BR1986FB
It's kind of funny heading into a series where the Cavs could actually be considered the "physical/bullies." GS seems like very much the finesse team and I think the Cavs can rough them up, if need be.

To quote you, "its thavoice". So no, he doesn't realize that lol

You need your best players to be, well, your best players.

Top two scorers for GS in the playoffs are Curry and Thompson.
Cavs rely on James and Irving.

Curry and Thompson average nearly half (47%) of the points for GS in the playoffs, and those two themselves toss up over 18 three's per game, 18.2 and make and make nearly 8.

James and Irving average a little bit less than what those two do, at 46 of the Cavs points in the playoffs but on average shoot about HALF (9.2) of the three pointers that GS top two guys and make 3 per game.

As a team, yeah you are right, but as the top two players whom I expect to be even more involved in the games you can see that GSs two leading guys rely much more on the outside shot than James and Irving.

GSW are anything but Finesse. They're the #1 def team for the season, I'd put them right up there with Memphis in terms of physicality. Top 5 physical team IMO.

They are an exceptional defensive team but we'll agree to disagree on how physical they are.

COA isn't the only one to disagree with you here. It's not like Golden State finessed their way to beating Memphis, the most physical team in the league.

I agree with COA top 5 physicality

I also think Mike Conley's broken face and his subsequently poor shooting contributed partially.

Absolutely. But you don't beat Memphis if you're a finesse team. You need to be physical. I see what BR is trying to say, that the Cavs should have an advantage in the physicality department, but that doesn't justify calling GS finesse.

I got the hunch that this could go down like Miami/LeBron's first title against OKC.

OKC was favored and everyone thought Westbrook and Durant would light it up, and the ended up getting bullied. I won't be surprised at all if the same thing happens this year.

The Grantland article was a fun read. The other just made me mad. I don't think there's a series that LeBron would ever get absolutely rolled in (while still in his prime), but maybe that's just me. Don't get me wrong, I love being the underdogs with very little expectation from anyone outside of the walls of Quicken Loans Arena. However, if the media thinks that we're going to be intimidated by GS simply because of what they have done this year, they're mistaken.

Another thing I find interesting is that no references have been made to the Game in Cleveland where we beat GS. I was at that game, and we tried and tried to give it away, but Golden State never took it. Klay and Curry combined for 31 points I think. Shumpert played 31 minutes of scoreless basketball, but did one heck of a job on Curry. Conversely, Draymond guarded LeBron, and while I don't expect this kind of outpouring again, LeBron embarrassed him for 42 points. Anyone that thinks this series will be anything short of a dogfight is insane. Curry will get hot, and GS will win a game as a result, but I also don't expect LeBron to simply roll over and let GS walk all over a dream he's had ever since he left Cleveland. This is LeBron's legacy we're talking about, and I'll be utterly surprised if we see anything short of greatness out of #23.

This. I'm expecting Lebron to have the best series of his career and put the team and his legacy on his back for a championship. GSW doesn't have a single player who's even won a championship on their team and they expect to beat Lebon James?

Good post, this sums up how I feel.

In my Cavs group text we talked about how once Love went down we needed to see HOF-level transcendent Lebron to beat the Bulls and have a chance against the winner of the West. Well, Lebron has performed at the level we needed in 2/2 series. If we can get a third, we might finally be able to raise a banner in Cleveland.

Really hoping Kyrie can give us something. All we need him to do is make some buckets and start drawing attention to space the offense a little bit. But if the Warriors can sag off him and make everyone else beat them, we might be in trouble.

Kyrie needs to get close to 20 a game, whether it's on spot ups or whatever, he's shooting the three incredibly well.

We really just need Kyrie to hit some clutch 3 pointers. There's no doubt in my mind he will come through like he has all year and make big time shots.

The Cavs are the best team in the league this year and they will prove it against the Warriors; no doubt.

I dk why but I have this feeling that kyrie will go off tomorrow night for atleast 30. I feel like this will be the healthiest he had been in weeks and he's going to go out and ball out

Thought he played well in game 4 against the hawks. Hoping to continue this momentum
