lhslep134When it comes to talent falling a little bit, some value guys I really like would be:
Nelson Agholor in the 3rd
Sammie Coates in the 4-5th
Tony Lippett 5th-6th -

I like this. I just don't want them blowing a pick on the kid from UCF who runs REALLY fast and not much else. We already had our Carlton Mitchell.lhslep134;1723887 wrote: Nelson Agholor in the 3rd -

The same tunnel vision like "stop the run, stop the run, stop the run".DeyDurkie5;1723872 wrote:Tom Brady

Once again, you might call us dumb for our Browns thoughts, but you tend to come across as having tunnel vision. We get it. Super bowl teams had good lines. They also had great qbs, great coaching and great schemes. Those all factor into it. Not just "them stopping the run" so instead of mindlessly saying the same shit over and over, try and add a little to the convo besides "stop the run"
I agree with you lines are important, but if there isn't a draftable lineman at our picks, you don't reach. You go BPA and get two starters out of our first round picks.
Honest question, would you move up to picks 1-3 to draft Leonard Williams? Because I feel like you would.
Stopping the run is pointless. -
BR1986FBI'd be pretty pissed with this. I like Cooper but a WR and a RB in round 1?

I agree that there are categories that are more telling. The average rush defense ranking for the last 10 SB winners is 13.9, median 13.5.sleeper;1723890 wrote:The same tunnel vision like "stop the run, stop the run, stop the run".

Yeah, I checked that out and way, way, way, way too many trades in that mock draft to take it seriously.BR1986FB;1723894 wrote:I'd be pretty pissed with this. I like Cooper but a WR and a RB in round 1?

That is like picking big upset after big upset after big upset in your NCAA brackets. Fun to talk about, but Aint. Gonna. Happen.
The more time that passes between the end of the season and the draft the crazier things we see proposed and rumored.
Almost seems like the closer we get the pundits start to change their tune on a number of guys and not for any good reason, but because they start to overthink the whole thing. -

Stats are great things, but dont always tell the full truth.queencitybuckeye;1723895 wrote:I agree that there are categories that are more telling. The average rush defense ranking for the last 10 SB winners is 13.9, median 13.5.
So you say the last 10 SB winners had an average of 13.9 ranking? Sounds good. No one really knows how skewed a stat can be. One could easily assume that to be a SB champion you are very good much of the season, leading many of the games a good amount of time as well. What do teams do when they are losing? Pass the ball. So a team may not be that great of a rush defense, but because they are winning games the other team was passing alot.
I was surprised when I looked up the browns rush defense the last 5 years. I thought it was better than it was. Then again, same premise as above. Teams get a lead, and they run the ball. Browns losing many games = more rushes against them....I would presume. I didnt get that far into the stats. -
BR1986FBI don't think the Browns have even been decent against the run since 1999. There may have been an outlier one or two years but, for the most part, the run D has been garbage.

Dr. KnOiTaLLThe latest in the rumor mill...
NJ.com's Mark Eckel passes along a "rumor making its rounds in NFL personnel meetings" of the Eagles trading Sam Bradford to the Browns for the No. 19 overall pick in the draft.
The Browns already offered No. 19 to the Rams for Bradford, prior to his trade to Philadelphia. St. Louis didn't accept because it wanted a quarterback, and wound up acquiring Nick Foles. The Browns are "still said to have interest" in Bradford. Per Eckel, the rumor has the Eagles then sending Nos. 19 and 20 -- plus Mychal Kendricks and Fletcher Cox -- to the Titans in exchange for No. 2 overall, where Philly would select Marcus Mariota. Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported Friday that Bradford currently believes the Eagles may be planning to trade him. -

I HAD heard that the Eagles had not approached Bradford about an extension, which makes me think that they are looking to move him, but I'd be ticked if the Browns dealt the #19 pick for him and he doesn't sign an extension. Not interested in renting a QB.Commander of Awesome;1723913 wrote:Very interesting. -

We could franchise him twice.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1723915 wrote:I HAD heard that the Eagles had not approached Bradford about an extension, which makes me think that they are looking to move him, but I'd be ticked if the Browns dealt the #19 pick for him and he doesn't sign an extension. Yeah, but do you want a QB leading your offense that doesn't want to play for you?Commander of Awesome;1723916 wrote:We could franchise him twice. -
like_thatBradford is not worth a 19. Eagles gotta give up bradford and another player. I would ask for Kiko or Barwin.

I dont want him at all. Don't really GAF if he wants to be here or not. Tough titties little guy, don't suck ass and you'd still be a Ram.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1723918 wrote:Yeah, but do you want a QB leading your offense that doesn't want to play for you? -

No way they're giving up Kiko. They just dealt McCoy for him lollike_that;1723919 wrote:Bradford is not worth a 19. Eagles gotta give up bradford and another player. I would ask for Kiko or Barwin. -

They also just traded for Bradford... Apparently chip wants to treat this like fantasy football, but if I am the GM and the Eagles want my first they are gonna have to offer more than just Bradford. They are desperate for our pick to get to Mariotta. They can have their cake and eat it too. Fuck Chip.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1723924 wrote:No way they're giving up Kiko. They just dealt McCoy for him lol -

No clue why we'd bend over backwards to help them out.like_that;1723925 wrote:They also just traded for Bradford... He will want a longer contract after that, so he will either sign an extension or play his best for the Browns to get it after the 3 years. No one is gonna just not try/care, especially when they dont have any kind of history to fall back on for negotiating.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1723918 wrote:Yeah, but do you want a QB leading your offense that doesn't want to play for you? -

Irrelevant. The Browns suck because we don't have a competent QB; the run defense being good or bad doesn't matter in a league that predominately a passing league.BR1986FB;1723903 wrote:I don't think the Browns have even been decent against the run since 1999. So sick of hearing "Stop the Run." You've gotta be shitting me. 15+ years of garbage fucking QB play, and we want to try and stop the run. LOL -
Laley23Im sick of people trying to tell me that you need this to win or that to win and pointing to certain teams as examples. The reality is, you need everything to win. You need talent in all facets of the game to win. You need a defense, an o-line, a d-line, a kicker, a QB and weapons.
However, NOTHING is more important than a QB.
Do I think trading the #19 for Sam Bradford is worth it? No, not on the surface. But, thats the price you have to pay to get a QB in this league. So, I say go for it. Get a fucking QB that isnt going to take 2 seasons to learn the offense. If the FO thinks Bradford can lead the team, you trade for him. End of discussion. No more building around this mythical QB and trying to land him later...because the reality is later may never come. -

Sam Bradford is a competent QB? Based on what, where he was drafted?Laley23;1723935 wrote:Im sick of people trying to tell me that you need this to win or that to win and pointing to certain teams as examples. Based on him being 14th in 2013 (5.2%) and 16th in 2012 (-.8%) in DVOA before getting hurt. A bad quarterback isn't approaching those numbers but a competent one definitely is.Commander of Awesome;1723936 wrote:Sam Bradford is a competent QB? Based on what, where he was drafted?

He may not be great, or even good, but he's definitely competent.
