If he can get his mind right and learn to be a professional, the sky is the limit with this core and good Johnny at the helm. Not too mention the new offensive coordinator we have is intriguing to pair up with jff.
Jamarcus Russel. Chris Leak. Tim Tebow. Your argument is asinine and thought out at all.

WTF. Manziel is the worst QB to be drafted in the first round since Quinn/Weeden.

Yeah, I don't know about that. Ponder & Gabbert have established track records of being dung. JFF has a game and a half.

I'm not arguing. Merely stating my opinion on the matter. And I'm certainly not going to argue with someone that uses ZOMG and lolfail as a grown adult.

And tebow won a playoff game. So yeah, nice "argument" there.

How near sighted of you sleeper. Basing an entire future career on 2 games. I didn't say he was the answer just that if he gets his shit together and learns how to be a pro he will light it up.

He won't even be in the NFL after next year. He sucks; why even bother at this point?

Would you like to bet an ipad on it?

JFF will never succeed. He doesn't have the toolset to be sucessful in the NFL.

BTW Tebow won a playoff game is the dumbest arguement ever. Winning a playoff game doesn't make a QB a success. With that argument if the starter for the Browns got hurt with 6 games left and then The defense got really hot against bad teams and JFF came in and got them to the playoffs and won a playoff game before flaming out of the league in less then 2 years you would put him down as a success. You must think Derek Anderson is a HOF QB.

So you have nothing and being a bitch boy about even though you said a completely asinine statement. Got it. Also great job using an exception that was out of a job in the league last yr and didn't start for a team since his playoff win. Nice fail tweedle dumb.

Stating an opinion. When it turns out right, I'll "ZOMG LOLFAIL TWEEDLEDUMB" your response.

3 qbs out of the 100's that have come out of there doesn't really prove a point either. But hey, as long as we stop the run our team will be on its way to the playoffs.

Tim Tebow, Jamarcus Russell, Chris Leak, Andre Woodson, Ryan Mallett, Stephen Garcia, and I really could go on and on, all tore it up in the SEC and didn't do anything worth a damn in the NFL. And if you're going to argue for Tebow as a main example of SEC QB's who tore it up in college and still panned out in the NFL then you've already implicitly conceded the point.

It's true that none of that has a true bearing on the particular instance of whether or not Johnny Manziel will pan out; but you can't just use "because he tore up the SEC" as your main argument because there are plenty of guys who tore up the SEC who didn't contribute as an NFL QB.

Look at the worst team in the league against the run: Cleveland.

Top 10 run defenses: NE, Seattle, Pittspuke, Baltimore, Denver, Dallas, etc.... Any questions?

His "point" was idiotic I was amazed. FW level.

You can always do what I do and use "record setting SEC QB who continually gave Nick Saban fits" as a reason to back Manziel, since that doesn't apply to Tebow :D

I'm not arguing anything. Just pointing out that his skill set and ability to run the ball is far more of an asset than Jamarcus, Chris leak, etc. I personally think if he gets his mind right he will be our starter for years. Not trying to argue anything. If you disagree that's fine. In my opinion, if he gets his shit together he will be our starter.

As for your argument COA, those teams have qbs. Next lolfail from you.

I actually agree with you from a skillset perspective based on what he showed in college. I get you're not saying "Manziel, bc SEC dominance!!" but it could have been interpreted that way.

I'm only concerned about the dude's professionalism and that's a debate that can't be resolved anytime soon.

They also all had top 15 or better Quarterbacks. As much as stopping the run can and will help you, no team will ever win shit in the NFL without above average QB play.

Don't want to jump into this, but wanted to throw this out there.

Best 2 years combined in the SEC:

Johnny Manziel - 9,989 total yards, 93 TDs
Tim Tebow - 7,986 total yards, 90 TDs
    Chris Leak - 6,248 yards, 57 TDs
JaMarcus Russell - 5,692 total yards, 46 TDs

The only one that dominated the SEC anything close to what Manziel did was Tim Tebow, and he still had 2,000 less total yards. His passing was also helped with throwing to Percy Harvin, Aaron Hernandez, Andre Caldwell, Riley Cooper, Louis Murphy, and David Nelson, all servicable to very good NFL receivers, compared to just Mike Evans for Manziel(at the moment anyway).

I don't think Johnny Football ever becomes a good NFL QB, but I do understand DeyDurkie's thought process at least.

Jamarcus Russell was about 6 inches taller, 100 lbs more, a cannon for an arm, and Mobile. JFF is a short squirt whose atheletic prowess isn't the benefit it was in NCAA. Doesn't have a strong arm, can't see over the line, can't hold up to the beat of the NFL, and is a recovering Addict. Yeah Durkie, GREAT analysis there. /sarcasm

Also Durkie, this argument will prob go over your head, but stopping the run gets you more offensive series in a game. Thus more chances for stats. Stop the run, QB can throw more. I dont think anyone thinks Flacco is an elite QB. Manning down the stretch was a powder paw. Falcons have a good QB, so did Chargers, so did Saints. No playoffs.

Stop the run or nothing else matters.

    Saints, Falcons, Chargers. Thanks.
