I think we know which position the NFL considers a premium position. Pretty much backs up what I was saying during the draft and you guys were all, "boo hoo I want a super wr play maker!!!!"
+1, brings the lulz when somebody bitches about how the Browns didn't reach for a WR.

For a pothead, you're certainly high strung.

Looking forward to your next ginger/gay slur comment!

So the more that I think about it the more excited I get for the season and how I truly believe this team could make the playoffs and win the division of healthy.
    1. We got a top 5 secondary and a much improved DL which should help stop the run
    2. The offensive line got even better with Mack coming back and Erving.
    3. We are better at wr than we were last year and we have some dependable guys who can catch the football.
    4. As much as people hate on mccown he's a vet that knows his role and won't try to do too much. He knows he's gotta take care of the football and he doesn't have to force throws and make big plays. The ground game and o line will move the football.
    5. We have 3 good running backs and west and Crow have experience now. And adding duke as a huge home run big play guy will be huge not only in the running game but in the passing game. A screen could easily go 70 yards for a touchdown with the ball in his hands he's that electric.

Should be a very interesting season. Just gotta stay healthy

Crimson put down the kook aid. Same arguments you made for mccown are same for delhomme. He fucking sucks.

I agree with him. Browns have a legit shot to be 10-6 11-5.

    You say this every year.

On paper, the Browns schedule is light to start the year. Anything less than 3-1 to start the year; you might as well play madden, because the pipe dream of 10-11 wins won't be happening in real life.

I get what Crimson is saying though, I just have no faith in mccown. Hopefully the running game is as good as it was last year with Mack, and hopefully the defense will be improved and healthy. I could see this team being as competitive as last season (by that mean in the thick of things by late November) or things could get ugly quickly. Hopefully Shelton looks like a NFL player from day one and PT doesn't get hurt.

    1. agreed

    3. meh....they still suck

    4. If you get a better than 1:1 ratio of TD's to INT's out of McCown, it's a "win." He sucks. He sucked last year with a MUCH better WR corps in Tampa. This goes back to COA's "pass rusher vs WR" comments in this thread. Doesn't matter how good the WR's are until you get a legit QB. Just pissing in the wind.

    5. Unproven. They all have "potential" but until we see consistency, I'm not saying they are "good." With this O-Line, a blindfolded monkey should be able to go for 1200 yards.

It should be an "interesting" season but I don't share your excitement. The defense should be legit but the offense will likely negate that. Just glad the Cavs had a great season so we weren't talking about these guys since the season ended.

Browns will win 5 games and we will draft another QB in the later rounds.

Number 4 is unfair. His offensive line in Tampa was awful. Can't use the argument of better WRs to knock him down when the offensive line couldn't block anyone.

Agree. I was actually thinking that it would be interesting to see what he could do with time to throw.

Fair point but until his "lightning in a bottle/13 TD's to 1 INT" season ender in Chicago, he's been pretty much shit. If you throw that outlier out of his career numbers, he has less TD's than INT's.

Use his entire career then. He's 3fucking5 years old. Outside of that 11 game stretch with the bears, he's a fucking awful QB. He must be the unluckiest 35 yr journeyman QB.

Jesus, Jake Delhomme was a better bet than this guy.

    He's 36. :D

Nope, just laying out the facts.

The best chance the browns have of winning is running the ball consistently, (100yds + a game), and playing great defense. McCown ain't our savior. I'm a bigger believer in JFF not being a total POS than I am of McCown not sucking.

Defense will need to be top 5 in the league to win more than 6 IMO.

not saying he'll be a top 20 QB, I think it will be interesting to see what he can do with time, he might suck less than he did last year, if he can be average, then I would attribute that to the offensive line.

And they have the pieces to run the ball. Mccown knows he has to be a game manager. They aren't expecting him to be Tom Brady.
