BR1986FBNo harm in the Pryor signing. He's going to have a tough road to making the squad unless they plug him in at TE. Teams usually keep 5-6 WR's. Worst case, if they see him as a potential developmental project they may be able to stow him away on the practice squad?

Not so sure about that.BR1986FB;1736694 wrote:No harm in the Pryor signing. He's going to have a tough road to making the squad unless they plug him in at TE. Teams usually keep 5-6 WR's. Each team can sign a maximum of two players with no more than two accrued seasons. Previously, if a player had accrued an NFL season by being on the 53-roster for more than six games, he was ineligible for the practice squad, unless in that one season, he was on the active game day roster for fewer than nine games."
Think that states is for two seasons he was on a 53 man he cannot be on the PS. Not sure if TP follows that or not.
He is athletic enough, that is for sure. It isnt about just having the ability though as you still have to be able to make catches in traffic and he wont really get that chance until preseason games as contact in NFL practices has decreased quite a bit. -
AutomatikI can't believe it took the stubborn fuck this long to figure out he wasn't gonna make it in the league at QB.
He will still be a project, but I could see him doing some good things with the ball in his hands. -
BR1986FB
Hence the "?" after practice squad. I wasn't sure if he was eligible or not.thavoice;1736731 wrote:Not so sure about that.

Yeah, and that is why I looked it up and answered.BR1986FB;1736760 wrote:Hence the "?" after practice squad. I wasn't sure if he was eligible or not.
I think he has too much time accrued, but it still is valid going forward when people wonder about stashing guys on a practice squad.
Worth the try to sign him though. Hell, ya get I think 90 spots for awhile now. Ya need guys to beat up on anyways. I know it is the down time for the NFL but people tend to make bigger deals outta moves like this. -
jmogHe would be a better Graham type TE, never actually lining up to block, just line up in the slot.

Yeah, he wont be on the run side blocking on a 3rd and 2 any time soon!jmog;1736841 wrote:He would be a better Graham type TE, never actually lining up to block, just line up in the slot. -
like_thatFor those who were butthurt over the Browns not trading for Mariotta.

Just because they didn't visit with him doesn't mean there wasn't interest. Either way, I'm glad they didn't sell their soul for him.like_that;1737125 wrote:For those who were butthurt over the Browns not trading for Mariotta.

Or the defense is playing that bad right now... -
BR1986FB
The defense isn't playing bad. Besides, it's OTA's so everyone looks good in shorts & t's. Shit, even Weeden looked good in OTA's.thavoice;1737976 wrote:That.

MontyBrunswickBrowns will win seven (or less) games this year.
Book it. -
Commander of Awesome
No he didn't. He looked like shit. He looked good throwing as clay discs, he sucked in camp.BR1986FB;1737978 wrote:The defense isn't playing bad. Besides, it's OTA's so everyone looks good in shorts & t's. Shit, even Weeden looked good in OTA's. -

Don't let your obvious hatred blind you. Yeah, he sucked ass when he was here but to state he sucked all the time is just false. Even I can overlook a bias and admit a shitbag like Andra Davis occasionally looked ok...Commander of Awesome;1738013 wrote:No he didn't. He looked like shit. And before you start with your "herp derp....BR's defending Weeden again" bullshit, I don't gaf what he does going forward but your all encompassing comment implying he sucked 24/7/365 is just false. -

I don't recall an NBA free agent frenzy at midnight in previous years, but I forget lots of stuff.

I do recall in '05 when I worked for the Browns and my boss had me do articles ahead of time and someone found them posted on the team site.

It was a really big deal on Pro Football Talk in the pre-Twitter era. And Romeo called us "amateur hour" which isn't bad comparatively...

Commander of AwesomeI can answer BR's article question. Lolfuckno
What a waste of time. -

You're right. They won't get shit for him. Should've dumped him, when he had value, like a few of us said.Commander of Awesome;1739031 wrote:I can answer BR's article question. Lolfuckno

Yup precisely. Should have taken that 2nd round from the 9ers, tho we prob would have wasted it. I'm hoping Gordon comes back and dominates, I still its bs he's suspended in the first place. Fuck roger goodell.BR1986FB;1739032 wrote:You're right. They won't get shit for him. Should've dumped him, when he had value, like a few of us said.
Interesting that br is writing about this now, must be a slow time. -
BR1986FB
They also had another piece where Dwayne Bowe said he wanted to "take Gordon's place" or "replace his production" or some shit like that. I was laughing so hard I couldn't make out the title of the article.Commander of Awesome;1739033 wrote: Interesting that br is writing about this now, must be a slow time.
