I'm with like_that and COA (or whoever it was) on this one. Sports media loves their controversy of the week.

Farmer may have been on staff but the Pettine hire looks like a Haslam/Banner call...."The Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator was hired after he met for a third time with Browns brass, including owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner."

Prisco's general bias/distaste for the Browns continues. No Joe Thomas (chose Andrew Whitworth over him), Joe Haden, Gipson or Browns, for that matter, on his team. Such a smug POS....

Loggains, who was supposedly big on JFF, gone too...

    In a bizarre offseason twist...
No offense, but I don't think the word bizarre can be used in association with Browns off-season anymore.

What a disaster of an organization lol...

I would want to leave too if I was getting text messages during the game from the higher ups on what plays to call!

And the sad part of it is, everything seemed to be going smoothly until the Mack injury/when Hoyer started regressing.

Shitty BC of continuity but I said Earlier in the season I wouldn't QQ to see him go. Not that impressed.

It is pretty insane how well everything was going until Mack got hurt. Unfortunately, I don't really trust Mack to stick it out here. Hopefully, Joe Thomas can reel him in to see this thing through. We were right there, leading the division, when Mack went down. That's GOT to be encouraging, right?

That's why I added Mack bolting in FA as one of my 2015 predictions. He was out the door when the Browns matched that offer. Unless they pull a rabbit out of their asses and make the playoffs this year, I think he's as good as gone. That's why I think they should take a flyer on a mid-round center as insurance to groom in this draft.

Just keep in mind that Shanny now has a long history of taking his ball and going home/being a btich boy. Players in Hou/Was were ready for him to leave when he did, and Loggins started the ball rolling on Manziel. I'm not QQing or saying the browns are a dumpster fire for getting rid of those clowns. What did Shanny do that makes us want to keep him? We lost our Center and we wouldn't adjust the running game. Can't keep running Toss Sweeps/stretch plays over and over again. Not to mention the QB running plays he called with Manziel. Just dumb.

    tl;dr - fuck you Shannahan.

Except Mack was trying to get paid not "bolt" Cleveland because he was unhappy. Smh.

'Smh" all you want. Part of the reason Mack was looking was because of the constant change/losing.

As far as the Shanahan/Loggains departure, I think that could increase the chances of Hoyer re-signing.

    True.
but reports yestrday saying he was getting texts during the game, from higher ups who were not coaches, about what plays to call...that is just bs.

You're going to continue to talk out of your ass on this issue even though I posted last year I met Mack's agent and Mack wasn't going anywhere??

    That's pretty dense man.

    Link to Mack saying that?

Edit: completely forgot about lhslep knowing his agent.

If the Browns don't match the Jags offer, would he be here? Sure, you may have talked to his agent but if the Browns don't pony up, he leaves. All signs from the Browns camp were that they'd match. It wasn't like Mack was bluffing and if the Browns don't match he comes back to them, begging to stay. If I recall, the Browns don't have the luxury of matching an offer/or tagging Mack after this year, so if he wants out, he's gone.

Sounds like Mack found a way to get paid, just like most professional athletes try to do. LOL at making it something more than it actually is. Would you not do the same thing in macks position?
  • Commander of Awesome
BR quit being a QQ Drama Queen boy. So you're mad at Mack for getting offers as a RFA (HIS RIGHT) to get a bigger deal than the Browns were willing to give him? LOLK

You're just being Cleveland radio here, stirring up shit to stir shit. Remember when you were QQing about Thomas leaving? Alex Mack COULD leave, yes. If he does it's not the end of the fucking world and means Cleveland is hopeless/dysfunctional. I guess Saints were a dumpster fire when LCB left? lolfail
  • Laley23
And for fucks sake, leaving a team doesnt mean you dont WANT to be there. Sometimes (and I would do the same), more money wins out. If he leaves for a bigger deal, it doesnt mean he didnt want to be here. It might, but more likely its because he wanted to live in a nicer climate and make more money.

    Stop. Just stop.

I explicitly said that his co-agent told me Mack was never leaving and that Jacksonville was a way to leverage a better, more player-friendly deal.

Edit: sometimes players do things for business reasons too, it's not always personal.
