You do realize the only thing defensive about Bylsma was zone and a fucking stretch pass. The team as a whole is better than it was last year and the defensive depth is better. Don't give me losing Orpik and Niskanen was terrible either. Orpik was hot garbage and Niskanen would've been redundant on this team. Getting Ehrhoff to replace him was a incredible move as he is a better offensive defenseman than him. Also, finally letting the kids play unlike Bylsma will payoff as well.

Now onto Detroit. Detroit is going backwards, and fast. Datsyuk is just about done and Zetterberg is close as well. Time is ticking on them and they both miss chunks of the season due to injuries every year. Howard is overrated and Holland won't let his top prospects play on the top team until they're about 24-25. No top FA's want to go there anymore either. They missed out on Niskanen this year and they offered more than Washington did but didn't want to play there. Imo Detroit's days as an elite team are on done.
Pretty much all of this. Classy's post wasn't worth reading from the first sentence, since it was beyond obvious to anyone who actually pays any attention to the Pens that the team had utterly stagnated under Bylsma to the point where they were a regular season monster that everyone knew would collapse, crash and burn emphatically in the postseason, when grit and heart becomes just as (if not moreso) important than sheer natural talent.

They needed someone new to try to get more out of that talent. As to if the new regime is the right "someone", only time will tell that, but anyone with a brain knew they needed to make a change.

They don't have gritty players though. I do think Ken Holland is becoming a significant problem however in Detroit and his reluctance to play the good up and coming prospects is really starting to make Babcock mad. But yeah if Datsyuk and Zetterberg can stay healthy, and that's a big if, those guys are still elite players. They do need to start getting top free agents in though or Holland has to go

CBJ down 2-0 at home to Stars.
  • gerb131
2-2 end 2. Joey both goals
  • sportchampps
Bluejackets up 3-1 early in the third. Hopefully they can hold on then get to Ottawa and win again tomorrow night.
  • gerb131
    Held on 3-2 cbj
  • Classyposter58
Both Columbus and Detroit look really good early on. The Red Wings are younger than they have been in awhile, Nyquist is incredible and they have a ton of team speed.

CBJ at Ottawa tonight in the first of a 4 game road trip. Jackets down 1-0 after the first and Ottawa is on the power play for the first 1:20 of the second after the CBJ had 3 players in the penalty box the last 4 minutes of the period.

Bluejackets score 2 in less then a minute to tie it up. Bob is in goal after Ottawa 2nd goal as McIlheney left injured.

Wow Wings win on OT goal by Zetterberg to win 1-0 and sweep Toronto. Detroit off to a nice 3-1-1 start
  • End of Line
Hornqvist the winger this team has need for a long time. 8 points in 4 games so far.

I wish Legwand would quit. CBJ killer for ever.

Sounds like Nathan Horton's career could be over at 29 years old.
  • TedSheckler
Jackets can put him on LTIR and free up some cap space and go shopping.
  • sportchampps
I've read Bluejackets have insurance on him so they should save some money that way. They also don't really need cap space as they are already 7 mil under.
  • sportchampps
Also heard they have been shopping around for a replacement so that should be interesting
  • sportchampps
I got some glass seats for Tuesday I'm pumped
  • sportchampps
Hell Yeah Jackets score with 20 second left to come from behind and win the first one of this California trip win a win.

Beat SJ 5-4 Thursday lost 4-1 to the Cup winners this year Anaheim last night.
  • Azubuike24
The Ducks have dominated the regular season the last 2 years, but haven't gotten anywhere when it matters.

Anyone hear anything about Cam he took a nasty skate blade to the face last night looked really close to his eye
  • gerb131
He's ok. Posted a nasty pic on twitter but missed his eye by that much.
