Such a talented player/athlete too.Laley23;1632358 wrote:lol. Josh Smith is such a cancer, Greg Monroe is threatening to sign the 1 year qualifying offer of the Pistons (and subsequently leave next year as an UFA) if the Pistons dont trade him.
What a terrible signing that was last year. -
KB0938I think that with the type of attitude Josh Smith has, if he got onto a contender or somewhere he had a legit chance to make a playoff run hed shape up. He could be a valuable rebounder/defender for a championship caliber team, but put him on teams like this and be becomes a selfish immature cancer to the team. Just a theory, could act the exact same on a good team, but hes been on maybe 1 his whole career lol

Jeremy Lin butthurt that the Rockets put up a billboard of Melo in his #7 jersey when Melo visisted. Lol QQ -

Maybe when he is older, but then he wont be athletic and effective as he is now.KB0938;1632363 wrote:I think that with the type of attitude Josh Smith has, if he got onto a contender or somewhere he had a legit chance to make a playoff run hed shape up. I mean, I know Atlanta is a joke...but they were in the playoffs a few years in a row and he still was a selfish POS who took terrible shots in meaningful games. -

I mean atlanta was in the playoffs, but they were more times than not near the bottom of the East, and the East has been a joke for quite some time now. I dont think they were ever a really good team, they just benefited from a horrible overall league.Laley23;1632375 wrote:Maybe when he is older, but then he wont be athletic and effective as he is now.

I agree. But, he was still in the playoffs and taking horrible shots. So thinking that will change has no basis really.KB0938;1632376 wrote:I mean atlanta was in the playoffs, but they were more times than not near the bottom of the East, and the East has been a joke for quite some time now. lhslep134Saw on a good point on RCF regarding free agency and the Cavs but I think it applies to every FA.
Before you just assume how free agents are going to work out, take a good look at the potentially new location.
For example: (I'm purposely avoided any $$ talk in this post) Gordon Hayward's role on the Cavs would be different than his role on the Jazz last year as their highest usage player. So you can't just assume his inefficient numbers from last year will transition to the same statline with us.
They absolutely could, but you can't assume that will be the case. -
Laley23
Yep. See my post above. I think he would be a perfect compliment to Kyrie and Wiggins.lhslep134;1632391 wrote:Saw on a good point on RCF regarding free agency and the Cavs but I think it applies to every FA.

Now, I just dont know if you can spend max money on a 3rd option, but I think he would be perfect for the Cavs.
They are saved a bit in that Wiggins is on a rookie deal, so a 3rd option can be paid like a 2nd... -
lhslep134This is a summary of what I've posted on RCF:
1) a useful link for a rough approximation of the dollar cost of a win. With free agents, it works out to somewhere between $1.5-$1.86M per win
2) Nic Batum was signed to a 4 year/$46M offer sheet based on potential coming off a season in which he had 4.8 win shares. Using the math, this means they would have projected him to generate about 6.76 win shares per year over the life of the contract (using $1.7M per win)
3) He had win shares of 5.8 and 7.9!! over the first two years of the contract.
4) Gordon Hayward's best year, when he wasn't the focal point, was 5.4.
5) If Gordon gets 15 million a year, the Cavs would be projecting his win shares to average 8.8 over the life of the deal.
6) No thanks. -
HelloAgainWhat world are we living in where people are considering giving Gordon Hayward a max deal in the NBA?

Shouldn't you be studying for the bar lol?lhslep134;1632397 wrote:This is a summary of what I've posted on RCF:

I took a break between watching a lecture and doing hours of problems to check out what was going on here/RCF halike_that;1632407 wrote:Shouldn't you be studying for the bar lol? -
Commander of AwesomeRCF is unreadable. Forum structure is shit and full of idiots.
-
like_thatI really hope Riley's plan blows up in his face.

Lovejoy1984
Me too. And even if they bring back the big 3, they won't be able to improve the team much. Wince Carter, and the Matrix aren't pushing this team over the edge.like_that;1632433 wrote:I really hope Riley's plan blows up in his face.
Ideally, they need to dump Wade, go in for 2/3 quality mid level players, but Loyalty will stop that from happening. -
lhslep134
I know. It's a hassle in and of itself to separate the readable posts from the nonsense, but there's a lot more activity than on here so that's why I went over there during FA madness.Commander of Awesome;1632430 wrote:RCF is unreadable. Forum structure is shit and full of idiots.
COA, what do you think about what I posted? -
lhslep134Oh and here's the link I referenced in the post discussing the value of wins, and why I had to approximate.

robj55Lowry has reportedly re-signed with the Raptors.

HelloAgain
Gortat and Lowry, the two most often mentioned additions to the Heat roster both off the market. Now what?robj55;1632454 wrote:Lowry has reportedly re-signed with the Raptors.
Does Riley have Kris Humpheries' number? -
robj55They don't need a major overhaul, just some younger legs and athleticism. Not sure who they can add to help them in that area but Riley always seems to figure it out.
-
friendfromlowrySaw a BleacherReport tweet that Bosh was looking for 5 years/$90 million. So much for his paycut. I agree, they need to dump Wade. Even if they manage to sign him for less money, he still misses so much time with injuries.

They don't need a major overhaul? Just like the Lebron-led Cleveland teams didn't need major upgrades either?robj55;1632464 wrote:They don't need a major overhaul, just some younger legs and athleticism. Not sure who they can add to help them in that area but Riley always seems to figure it out. -
HelloAgain
To win a title, they need a significant addition/additions. They got smoked in the finals and virtually everyone on their roster will be worse players next year than they were this year.robj55;1632464 wrote:They don't need a major overhaul -

Lebron didn't have Wade and Bosh in Cleveland, he had Mo Williams and Andy. They need to get some youth and athleticism, some of their core got old. Beasley should be brought back, he can get you 10 a game off the bench. Is there any word on whether Ray Allen is retiring?SportsAndLady;1632466 wrote:They don't need a major overhaul?
