Trade deadline is in mid-February. It would make sense for them to accept a deal like this in 7 months if nothing else comes up. Not in mid-July. I don't think the Cavs are going to pull Waiters and Bennett off of the table and say "nah we're good" if Minnesota changes their mind down the line.

I don't think Wiggins is going anywhere, but I won't be completely confident until he's signed, which I don't think has happened still?

Lol what a pathetically written article. Sounds like a butthurt journalist working for bspn

HEy it looks like the trade isn't going to happen in 24 hours. I will get to the bottom of it. Sorry for creating panic, I guess i'll take info from this source with a grain of salt from now on.

    Seppuku is the only option.

Where do we currently sit as far as cap space after the Miller signing? Anyone have a good idea/grasp on the cap?
  • Midstate01
Believe we have 1.4 left without any of the holds coming off the books. Wiggins will take 1.1 of that.

The cavs will almost for sure be making a trade. They need help inside badly.

We won't be able to do much more than sign vet minimums. I'm not sure when the MLE and BAE come into play but I think we have to be over the cap to get those.

With that said, bring on Oden and Allen.

I don't know what andys cap hold is since his contract is only partially guaranteed, but if its the full 9.7 mil we're probably tapped aside from exceptions.

We definitely need a few more pieces. A rim protector and another shooter would be my next targets. Thoughts?

Yup pretty much what's been said everywhere. Hard to argue with that. We went from having some of the best big depth to nothing.

I would take a flyer on oden or okafor.
  • Commander of Awesome
Didn't realize okafor was a FA. I would def kick the tires there.

Cavs reportedly just signed James Jones.

Any shooters we can add, I'm happy. Last season, if we were down 15 in the 4th, there was really no hope of coming back because we only had a couple shooters. Not to mention, when King James is roaming the lane, gotta have guys spotting up to create some space.

If we can get a cheap big I'll be very happy with how this team is being built. I mean obviously Lebron is a nice get, but so is Jones and Miller. I'd still like to bring Allen in for a 1-year deal and potentially get Okafor/Oden for a big man presence.

Oden makes sense, would be able to get him for the vet's minimum. Low risk, high reward for the Cavs.

I haven't followed his NBA career or injuries, is there ANY chance he will ever be able to play 25+ min in the NBA? Just seems like I've been reading the low risk/high reward thing for years.
  • SportsAndLady
Yeah no thanks on Oden. He's never going to do anything of value in the NBA.

Probably not but if he can come off the bench and give you 15 minutes and rebound and block shots then that could help any team a ton.
  • Dr. KnOiTaLL
Keep in mind we have Haywood as well. Oden would be filling the Zeller role of 10-15 minutes per game. Coming in for the vet's minimum, I would take that low risk option.

Signed James Jones? Guess that means no Ray Ray?

Also, I'd take a chance on Okafor.

I read somewhere that there's still enough available to sign Ray.

You can sign anyone to the vet's minimum regardless of cap space.
