No. For them to get his cap hold off of the books, they'd have to renounce his bird rights.Laley23;1636327 wrote:Did LeBron sign a 2 yr deal with a player option after this year?
Is so, can he opt out, let the Cavs sign Love to a max deal in offseason, and then the Cavs just sign him to a new deal where they can go over the cap because they have his bird rights?? -

I get the point. You just had a retarded post that was premised on extremely faulty logic.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1636328 wrote:You're missing the point. You're not giving Minnesota anything worthwhile for love when he's got a year left on his contract. Especially what they want. -

Especially the #1 overall pick before he's even played a game, which has never happened in the NBA history. Love isn't worth that, Lebron/KD may be the only players worth Wiggins.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1636328 wrote:You're missing the point. I was having this convo with a friend earlier. I would only trade Wiggins for LBJ, KD, Russell Westbrook, LA, and maybe Davis depending on health.sleeper;1636331 wrote:Especially the #1 overall pick before he's even played a game, which has never happened in the NBA history. Seriously? Even after I posted last page how (**relatively**) inefficient he is in the post? I would not do that trade. LA is awesome, but not in the same category as the others you named. -

Prob right, just the names that came up in the convo.lhslep134;1636338 wrote:Seriously? Even after I posted last page how (**relatively**) inefficient he is in the post? I would not do that trade. LA is awesome, but not in the same category as the others you named. -

Inability to play efficiently inside is a big negative for me when talking about power forwards and centers who spend most of their time outside the paint.

I'll stick with LBJ/KD only. Maybe a younger WB, maybe.Commander of Awesome;1636335 wrote:I was having this convo with a friend earlier. I would only trade Wiggins for LBJ, KD, Russell Westbrook, LA, and maybe Davis depending on health. -

Yeah I remember the post, haven't been able to dive into the numbers. We were just talking players off the top of our heads.lhslep134;1636340 wrote:COA this is the post I'm referring to -

Gotcha. Now you got me thinking. I would do LBJ, KD, Davis, Drummond, and maybbbbbbee Cousins.Commander of Awesome;1636339 wrote:Prob right, just the names that came up in the convo. -

Completely forgot about Drummond. Not sure id do that, but I'll have to look into it deeper to confirm.lhslep 134;1636345 wrote:Gotcha. Now you got me thinking. I would do LBJ, KD, Davis, Drummond, and maybbbbbbee Cousins. -

I just don't see Love as a "gotta have him" player. If another team makes a trade for him, it wouldn't effect me one bit.ohiobucks1;1636348 wrote:Daryl Ruiter @RuiterWrongFAN

Laley23I know S&L watched the most of Wiggins last year. But, outside of him, maybe only Az watched him more than I did. No way do you give him up for Love. Just no way. He was a gamechanged in college without even "having a good year". I posted the #s next to Parker before, and Wiggins was considered a letdown...He has a game for the NBA, and a ceiling that is surpassed by only KD and LeBron at the moment. If he is what we think, he will be the 3rd best player in the game in 4 years...if not sooner.

Well I hope the trade isn't happening then. There is a 5 hour time difference from where I am to who i'm texting, so I will text again before I go to bed and see if anything changed. He was 100% confident a trade for Love was happening though and he was told by Lebron's people who are typically never wrong... Let's hope he is just misinformed and I can take a beating for being wrong. -

He could be that good certainly, but I think people are overrating him a bit in terms of expectations. He's a sensational athlete and a very good defender but his handle is suspect and his jump shot needs a lot of work, he shoots a knuckle ball. Playing with Lebron would erase all the questions I have about him being an elite player when it comes to creating offense, which you have to do as an elite player.Laley23;1636355 wrote:I know S&L watched the most of Wiggins last year. sportchamppsI wouldn't do Wiggins LBJ or Kyrie for Love but anyone else on the roster including Bennett would be up for grabs if I was the GM. I wouldn't mind giving up Bennett for Love. Love is already established and would make you the top team in the East and maybe the NBA. I would also make sure that Waiters is part of the deal because of what I have heard about his attitude. I don't see him being happy as a 6th man.

Rob no offense but your opinion on wiggins is incredibly retarded and no one takes it serious. Your credibility is completely shot.robj55;1636357 wrote:He could be that good certainly, but I think people are overrating him a bit in terms of expectations. He shoots a knuckleball? Where do you come up with this shit? -
robj55
Watch his shot, the rotation is completely wrong. I've also seen him get ripped 3 or 4 times already in summer league, he's simply not there yet offensively. That doesn't mean I don't like him as a player and prospect but people are enamored with his athleticism and upside. I think he will get there eventually, and playing with Lebron would make that transition extremely smooth in terms of taking all the pressure off of him. Hopefully there can keep him.SportsAndLady;1636360 wrote:Rob no offense but your opinion on wiggins is incredibly retarded and no one takes it serious. Your credibility is completely shot.

lhslep134Here's what I keep coming back to with Wiggins: he's been considered the best prospect since Lebron since he was what, 14? And what has he done to shed that label, exactly? IMO he hasn't done anything. He played in a system in college that wasn't designed around one or two people (ala Duke's offense around Parker + Hood), and again, didn't do anything to make me question his ceiling.
Now we want to trade the best propect since Lebron? Nah, I'm cool on that. -
robj55
Hell if he could end up being Scottie Pippen to Lebron's Jordan you definitely want to keep that. Talk about a nightmare on the defensive end with those wings.lhslep134;1636363 wrote:Here's what I keep coming back to with Wiggins: he's been considered the best prospect since Lebron since he was what, 14? Dr. KnOiTaLLHere's my take on the whole Love deal...
The main issue in my opinion isn't whether or not Love or Wiggins will perform and when. Love isn't going to average 24 ppg on the Cavs, probably more like 18, and I think Wiggins can average 14-15. The main issue here is Dion Waiters. As recently as today, when asked if he'd be willing to come off the bench on Twitter, he responded with, "Noooooooooooooooo." I think that's a cruddy attitude, personally, but if we keep Wiggins, we're not only losing out on Love, but I bet Waiters will be on his way out of town as well. Conversely, if we deal Wiggins for Love, (while I prefer him to Waiters) we're still very solid 1-5 without losing a ton of depth.
Now, let me just say, I don't want to deal Wiggins. I would prefer if we could swing a 3-team trade where we move Dion in a deal and get Love, but that's asking for a lot of things to go just right. Anything can happen with King James on the team now, but I feel like Wiggins is the only way a 2-team deal would work out for the Cavs. Let's just hope they can swing a 3-team deal and send Dion packing.
