Cleveland Cavaliers Offseason 2014

mucalum49Cavs also have Scotty Hopson and Brendan Haywood as trade pieces over the next year to clear cap for role players as well as only one year left of Andy at $9M.

Benny The JetThat guy who kind of seemed to spark this whole Lebron coming back gaurantee thing, Josh Teplitz, is saying Carmelo announces tonight at 10. Could be a sign of how much he either knows, or is trying to become famous by having people talk about him. He's been on a few different ESPN Radio affiliates today. If this guy misses on this, he won't ever live it down.

FootwedgeThe king is coming back...and for those that say no...stay away...reread ther parable of the prodigal son...you're acting like the older brother here.
For those that think MJ>LBJ...better check some stats. Over the last 2 years, LBJ had a shooting percentage of 56.5%. Unreal. MJ never hit 54% in any single year. I understand that shooting percentage is only one aspect of the game. But what part of Michael's game was better? Maybe free throw percentage...that would about it. -

I'm curious to see if he's right or not. Because he has blown up and become the talk of Cleveland with all the Lebron rumors.Benny The Jet;1633708 wrote:That guy who kind of seemed to spark this whole Lebron coming back gaurantee thing, Josh Teplitz, is saying Carmelo announces tonight at 10. Midstate01If I'm right and I may not be, say the cavs traded for love, they'd get his bird rights. Meaning they could sign him over the cap. They'd just have to pay the tax. NBA salaries confuse me though, so I could be completely wrong.

I wish they had hard caps. Would grow the game better like it has the NHL and NFL which has became so parity driven that most everyone has a chance. NBA attendance is weaker than the NHL which has ticket prices about $12 higher a seatMidstate01;1633723 wrote:If I'm right and I may not be, say the cavs traded for love, they'd get his bird rights. Partially. The cap ceiling is about $14 million below the luxury tax threshold. You can go over the cap and not pay tax.HighRoller74;1633727 wrote:That's right. -
trep14Man I haven't posted on here forever. But I feel compelled to post my thoughts somewhere and don't feel like doing it on realcavsfans. I haven't really read through the thread, so sorry if this post is redundant with whats already been said. This has been such a weird offseason though, its crazy how silent everyone is being. At first I scoffed at the idea, but I'm really starting to think LeBron and Carmelo may be planning something, and its starting to bother me reading the realcavsfans posts about how this meeting with Riley tomorrow is just to say goodbye to Pat. I really really hope I'm proven wrong, but it's just starting to feel like the games in 2010 all over again, with Wade taking two trips to Chicago and all that. Wouldn't be surprised if everything that has happened in free agency has just been a game with the carefully orchestrated Lebron to Cleveland leaks and so forth. It's kinda disheartening. I really hope I'm proven wrong. The plus side is that unlike 2010, if the cavs don't land Lebron, I'm really optimistic about the future of the Cavs and if he goes back to Miami its whatever, beat them in the playoffs.
EDIT: The one thing about Lebron/Melo that makes me hesitate about it is that I don't see Melo as the type of guy to leave money on the table. I remember the way he forced NY to blow up their team and trade for him so he could earn a few million dollars more. It is really hard to see him walk away from $129 million. -
Commander of AwesomeLOL! LMFAO trep ,everyone needs to calm the fuck down. LBj/Melo & LBJ/Love aint fucking happening. You guys are ridiculous. I understand a bit of homerism, but LBJ is the guy that didn't let Bosh come to Cleveland. Everyone forgets how back in 09, Cavs had a deal on the FUCKING table with the Raps to land Bosh contingent on Bosh signing an ext with the Cavs. LBJ wouldn't commit to the Cavs, so Bosh wouldnt, and deal was nixed. link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5357607
AINT FUCKING HAPPENING. LBJ isn't coming back to Cleveland, and sure as shit isn't coming back to Cleveland with Melo/Love. LOLFAIL trep. -

Why is it relevant that we had a deal for Bosh when Lebron and Bosh had already decided to bolt?
No one forgot about the Bosh deal, we just don't find any relevance in it, and frankly I'm surprised you do. -

Very true. Just saying that Bosh and LBJ could have happened in Cleveland, but LBJ was a bitch boy. Anytime I hear someone regurgitate the BSPN line about no supporting cast about LBJ in cleveland I want to throat punch them.lhslep134;1633749 wrote:Seems you forget that the Heatles had already thought about the decision to play together in Miami. If you think he's a bitch for doing it back then (the hand tying), then you're right in calling him a bitch boy now. He's doing the same thing to Miami right now that he did to us in 2010.Commander of Awesome;1633750 wrote:Very true. The difference is, while I would like him here to improve our chances of a 'ship, I'm excited either way for our young core. -

He was a bitch to Cavs and Cavs fan then, and is a bitch to the Heat right now. He would be a bitch to Heat "fans" but they don't have any.lhslep134;1633751 wrote:If you think he's a bitch for doing it back then (the hand tying), then you're right in calling him a bitch boy now. I have to give some of them credit. I spent a little bit of time on their realGM forum and there's a few who are basically saying thanks Lebron for the titles but GTFO you little bitch. Then they mentioned the time between Shaq and the Big 3 and how they they'd rather have that than Lebron being a bitch.Commander of Awesome;1633752 wrote:He was a bitch to Cavs and Cavs fan then, and is a bitch to the Heat right now. $100 to 1 they don't live in or are from Miami and joined as heat "fans" during the first title run. So, nope. No credit from me. They can GFT.lhslep134;1633754 wrote:I have to give some of them credit. KB0938Lol every single sign there is is pointing to LBJ returning. Why so convinced its not happening?

Stronger argument to return in 2010 then now. Best record in the association last 2 yrs, with a deal on the table for Bosh. What did he do? Bolt to Failami to be robin. LBJ is a classic bandwagon ring chasing bitch.KB0938;1633756 wrote:Lol every single sign there is is pointing to LBJ returning. Why so convinced its not happening?
Also LOL at you going Miss Cleo on me. "Signs". LOL -

He wasn't Robin by any means. More like Wade began to fade as he ascended to be the dominant force in the NBA. I think he just needed a change of scenery after that series with Boston was allCommander of Awesome;1633757 wrote:Stronger argument to return in 2010 then now. Are you honestly reading what you just posted? LBJ needed a change of scenery? LMFAO, tell that to Jordan/Bird/Magic and then kindly STFU.Classyposter58;1633758 wrote:He wasn't Robin by any means. If LBJ is a "ring chasing bitch" then wouldnt he want to be paired up with Kyrie and Wiggins as opposed to an old and falling apart Wade, and Mcroberts/Granger? Cleveland is easily a better destination for chasing a ring than Miami at this moment.Commander of Awesome;1633757 wrote:Stronger argument to return in 2010 then now. And as far as the Miss Cleo comment for saying all signs point to Cleveland, its obvious by signs I mean how things are shaping up with Free Agent signings and offers and pretty much all the rumors. You're trying too hard -
Commander of Awesome
Wade/Bosh are knowns. Kyrie is an injury prone athlete whos won nothing, and Wiggins is a mystery with flags. So you're arguing potential vs proven commodities.KB0938;1633761 wrote:If LBJ is a "ring chasing bitch" then wouldnt he want to be paired up with Kyrie and Wiggins as opposed to an old and falling apart Wade, and Mcroberts/Granger? What the hell? Where did I say Melo was coming to Cleveland? I thought it was obvious I meant Melo coming to Miami. Obviously I'm not the only one thinking it, Marc Stein just tweeted last night about Melo to Miami like 30 minutes after I posted about it:
Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine · 7h Popular question raised by last five teams I've talked to: Is Melo holding out in hopes Bosh goes to Houston so he can join LeBron in Miami?
You're crazy if you don't think it is a possibility... -
Midstate01Melo isn't going to Miami for 12 mil a year. Which is what they'd have if bosh left. They'd have to get NY to do a sign and trade, and Miami has NOTHING to offer. Also I said this on rcf, but lebron is a student of the game. He'd see playing with melo would be fun since they've been friends since high school but also would see that it'd mean the heats only big man would be josh mcroberts. They'd be completely maxed in salary, since signing wade and melo would mean that mcrob and Granger took their full exceptions. It really just doesn't fit for the heat.
