Sorry, beat me to it. This.

The guy is a freak. If he is healthy he BETTER be the pick.

Definitely agree on picking him if back is healthy.

It's a shame that it is so hard in getting excited in having the number one overall pick. After picking Bennett last year, what's the point? Waiters, Thompson, Bennett. All pieces of garbage.

Lol classic FW, letting the media dictate his emotions toward Cleveland sports.

Marc Gasol and Joakim Noah prove your point blatantly false.

I'm sure I missed some important intellectually stimulating insight

haha its it's just him saying that he can't get excited for this #1 BC of past picks made in completely different years by a completely different GM lol

Pretty obvious. If embiid is healthy, he's a cavalier.

(Not so pretty obvious) If not, I may have to go Parker.

Neither of them have titles. I orginnally posted big men that have lead their teams to titles.

Also, I think Dion has and is going to turn out to be a great pick.

I completely agree with the takes on Randle. I don't understand how college teams let him get left so often.

This is taken from RCF. The head guy over there who has some connections started the thread. Pretty exciting to hear.
Nobody on this team is safe. The Cavs are taking and making calls on everyone. They are even taking calls about Irving (although I don't know if they are dangling him out there right now). Plenty of suitors for Deng in sign and trades.

From what I'm hearing I don't expect the Cavs to come away this off-season with any future assets or cap space. They are going all in. The team they build will be the team they think has a chance to win it all in a few years.

Edited to add: Nobody knows the Cavs preference right now when it comes to the draft because the Cavs won't make up their minds until they get the top 5 or 6 guys in for a workout and thorough physical. Until that happens its just speculation on everyone's part.

Edited to add part 2: Just got an email from a national guy who said "Embiid is going #1 regardless of who is picking".

Take it with a grain of salt from RCF.

I'd take his word (not just some rando on RCF) probably over about anybody not named Jason Lloyd or Windhorst.

    KYRIE POINTS OUT
The Cavs are making noises that they aren’t going to offer Kyrie Irving “max money" this summer via a long-term extension. They don’t want to deal the 2014 All-Star Game MVP, but it could come to that, especially if the West Orange product and his family continue to tell people that he wants out. Irving hasn’t been a leader in his first three seasons and he’s also gained the unwelcomed reputation as a locker-room problem. Those are two reasons the Cavs don’t see him as a max player.

“He was just handed too much, too soon," said one source. “You’ve got to make these young guys earn it, and that’s where this team did a bad job with him."
As for their next coach, the Cavs are not looking for a strong veteran presence who wants to do things only his way. So you can count out Jeff Van Gundy, George Karl and Hollins, although any of them would probably help the young, underachieving roster. New GM David Griffin is looking for a college or NBA coach who agrees to accept input and instructions from himself and the Cavs’ notorious hands-on owner, Dan Gilbert. That makes for a potential nightmare, although candidates Alvin Gentry or Jim Cleamons might figure it’s still one of only 30 NBA jobs, so why not give it a shot

Where is Mark Jackson in all of this talk? Seriously, why is he not being discussed? I hate when teams take flyers on young, new coaches. 9 times out of 10, they are busts... so stupid...

Im not against Mark Jackson, but the same could be said about retread coaches who have never won anything.
  • SportsAndLady
I don't really understand those kyrie messages. They don't see him as a max salary guy, so what? They're gonna trade him? They're gonna let him walk to be a max guy somewhere else?
  • Commander of Awesome
    I hate meddling owners.

Pretty sure Mark Jackson has said he isn't looking to coach again yet.
  • Pick6
coaching interviews that are reportedly lined up/have happened: Gentry, Tyronn Lue, Karl, Del Negro, Hollins, and Vanterpool (portland asst)

During the game last night he said "as a coach... that sounds pretty good, by the way". Made it sound like he wants to coach to me.
