What's his NBA projection/comparison?ohiobucks1;1619268 wrote:Embiid is up to 265. Back is said to be 100% (we'll see). Take him #1 and don't look back. -

Somewhere around Tim Duncan. Not saying he'll end up a future HOFer like Tim. But his perceived potential. Has a good jumper, athletic, good post moves (does the "Dream Shake") and has the ability to lock down the post on D. Needs to get more disciplined and foul less but could be as dominate a defender as any.robj55;1619271 wrote:What's his NBA projection/comparison?
I like him at #1. He's more well rounded offensively than recent guys to come out of school and only played the game for a few years. I think if he's healthy the sky's the limit for him.

Around 6:30 his offensive game starts in that video. -

Haven't seen enough of him but didn't look nearly as polished as a guy like Tim Duncan, seems like most are really high on his potential more than anything.mucalum49;1619274 wrote:Somewhere around Tim Duncan. There is skilled and then there is Tim Duncan skilled, unfair to make that comparison.SportsAndLady;1619278 wrote:Lol -

My mistake on the embedded video you quoted. Fixed now. Tim was a senior coming out who was more mature. I say his comp is that due to his offensive ability and moves he already has in his arsenal. He is a pick based on future potential but the foundation he already has is a strong one to build on.robj55;1619275 wrote:Haven't seen enough of him but didn't look nearly as polished as a guy like Tim Duncan, seems like most are really high on his potential more than anything.
Moreso than Noel, Drummond or Jonas V who were all passed up by the Cavs. -
robj55What I like is that he has good feet and isn't stiff for a big man, which is rare. Is he a better prospect than Oden was when he came out?

Great point, hard to make that comparison, unfair to Embiid.mucalum49;1619280 wrote:My mistake on the embedded video you quoted. Fixed now. Tim was a senior coming out who was more mature. So then why would you ask who he compares to?robj55;1619279 wrote:There is skilled and then there is Tim Duncan skilled, unfair to make that comparison. -

I was just curious, I mean if he really is that highly regarded then I think you have to look past the back injury.SportsAndLady;1619288 wrote:So then why would you ask who he compares to? -
Lovejoy1984I've seen him compared to Hakeem a lot at this stage.

No he isn't. Oden was consensus #1, He had a better back to basket game, defense was just as good if not better, and was just as good an athlete that Embiid is.robj55;1619281 wrote:Is he a better prospect than Oden was when he came out? -
Midstate01Wiggins... you take Wiggins. What dominate big man right now is leading his team to titles?
It's a guards league. -

16 and 8 this post season in 33mpg, pretty good if you ask me. Especially at 38.Midstate01;1619301 wrote:7 years ago..
This regular season was 15 and 9 in 29Mpg. -

I've seen projected at both. More often than not, at the 2, because of his slender build.
But in this NBA, the position they're listed at is almost pointless. -
Midstate01Most 3s are basically guards now. Taking the majority of the shots. So I think of them as guards.
Duncan is great. But other than a couple guys playing well, big men are just rebounding. I'd say Duncan is an exception. -
Midstate01And still it's been 7 years since his last title..

Don't disagree with you.
But the video did not impress me. I'd rather see to actual post moves, some jump shots etc. A 7ft man dunking the ball is not a major feat in my eyes -

I think the point was his back is definitely fine.HighRoller74;1619397 wrote:Don't disagree with you.

That wasn't the point of the video. Was just to show that his back seems OK. He looked athletic, and had a nice spring in his step.HighRoller74;1619397 wrote:Don't disagree with you.

The guy is a freak. If he is healthy he BETTER be the pick.
