KB0938Lebron doesnt exactly have a killer instinct either at all and hes worked out just fine id say lol.
Wiggins is an amazing prospect and ill be quite shocked if he doesnt develop into a super star -

Adding Love, who puts up monstrous numbers on a pitiful team, and handcuffing your cap space in the coming years isn't the present I have in mind. But maybe that's just me.Mulva;1638375 wrote:He obviously has the physical gifts. I think he has the game. I just don't fully believe he has the killer instinct to be a superstar. He'll put up 16-18 and be a very good defender on talent alone, which might be good enough to put the Cavs over the top as a 3rd option, but I don't personally see him ever being a guy to carry a team to a ring.
Would obviously prefer to keep him, but if push comes to shove I pull the trigger to make the Love move happen. Even if he is the best prospect since Lebron, you have actual Lebron right now, and the Cavs gotta maximize the remaining window of him still being an unstoppable force in the league.
tl;dr, I'm tired of waiting for the future. It's time for the present. -

What about Beasley? He dominated college basketball. I don't buy this whole Andrew Wiggins is the best prospect since Lebron stuff, Oden and Durant were better prospects and I think you could argue that Rose and Anthony Davis were as well. Beasley dominated much more than Wiggins did as well he just doesn't have it mentally. People are enamored with Wiggins' athleticism but his game and intangibles haven't caught up to that yet. Way too early to tell if they will or not.Laley23;1638363 wrote:Other than Durant and Oden, of guys who I have seen in HS (as Jr/Sr or longer) and NCAA, Wiggins is the best player I have watched since LBJ was a Freshman at ASVSM.
And I have watched all of the above on a list other than Ming and Darko.
It might be bias from not wanting to be wrong when I first saw Wiggins. But, I dont think it is. Ive been in love with his game since he was a SO playing up a level. People forget he is young for his class. Just turned 19 right before the NCAAs, I believe. -

I see star I don't see superstar, not the guy to carry a team on his back but he may develop into it. His game has a ways to go to catch up with the rest but he has a lot of time being only 19. His defense didn't look great to me either in the summer league, he got beat off the dribble a ton. I think he just needs to add some strength which will come in time, he's really skinny right now and looks to only be about 200 lbs.KB0938;1638381 wrote:Lebron doesnt exactly have a killer instinct either at all and hes worked out just fine id say lol.

The cap space is going to be maxed out either way. Lebron and Kyrie alone will take up 55-60%. Pretty much any major piece added going forward is going to have to be via trade.SportsAndLady;1638382 wrote:Adding Love, who puts up monstrous numbers on a pitiful team, and handcuffing your cap space in the coming years isn't the present I have in mind. The Wolves were 39-37 with Love in the lineup last year. -

So did Dougie McBuckets. That means nothing when it comes to NBA potential.robj55;1638383 wrote:What about Beasley? He dominated college basketball. -

Pretty big difference between Beasley and Dougie though.Mulva;1638391 wrote:So did Dougie McBuckets. That means nothing when it comes to NBA potential. -

Beasley wasnt near what Wiggins was in HS, and he took a ***** route and went to K-State where there is ZERO pressure. He was a bust waiting to happen with that attitude.robj55;1638383 wrote:What about Beasley? He dominated college basketball. Rose was awesome in HS, and it translated to college. But, Eric Gordon was the better prospect in that class, and in all honesty, had a better freshman year (though a broken arm killed the end of his year). I think Beasley ended up #1, but Eric Gordon was the prospect that year and NONE of them were as good as Wiggins was.
We are forgetting this kid WAS THE CONSENSUS #1 player by recruiting services and guys who are paid to watch these kids, when, it would drive up page views by having someone like Jabari Parker #1 overall instead. Wiggins played above his grade, and was the #1 player by a good margin. He then played for the International team and dominated Team USA. Won the Nike Hoop Summit 2 years in a row (as a 17 yr old and 18 year old). -

sportswizuhrdLooking at old rankings, it now appears that Shabazz Muhammed was way overhyped the year before Parker and Wiggins.

I think one day we will be saying "The best high school basketball player since Andrew Wiggins" in 5 years.sportswizuhrd;1638415 wrote:Looking at old rankings, it now appears that Shabazz Muhammed was way overhyped the year before Parker and Wiggins. -

BR1986FBIf they don't trade for Love, I sure as Hell hope Wiggins can cure cancer, like some of you seem to think, because I don't see them winning a ring before he's a major impact player.

Or, you know, just be better for the team than Love.BR1986FB;1638466 wrote:If they don't trade for Love, I sure as Hell hope Wiggins can cure cancer, like some of you seem to think, because I don't see them winning a ring before he's a major impact player.
The same way people are acting like Wiggins is amazing is the same as people acting like Love is a top 3 player in the NBA. It goes both ways. And before you say Love is proven, I would counter that it's a bad thing in his case... -

Love is proven to be a stat stuffer on a shit team..how does that prove he will be a great addition to Cleveland? -
BR1986FB
Not so much "proven" as more "versatile" than most. Pretty rare to find a guy, at that size, who is a 3 point threat, a good rebounder AND an excellent passer in transition. TLaley23;1638470 wrote:Or, you know, just be better for the team than Love.

hey don't need to get Love but Wiggins better be as fucking good as all of you say he is (the second coming) or Cavs fans are going to be in the same place as they've been, twiddling their thumbs with no rings. I just think that not getting Love is wasting years of Lebron's prime. -
BR1986FB
He wouldn't put up 26 ppg but he'd be a helluva weapon.SportsAndLady;1638472 wrote:Lol this.

Love would be good on any team. Not saying I want to do the trade but using this stat stuffing on shit team talk to claim he is overrated is just wrong. If Love didn't have injury problems this would be an easy trade to make for the Cavs.SportsAndLady;1638472 wrote:Lol this.

Commander of Awesome@Probballdraft: Bulls also have some concerns with Love defensively. Considered by some worse defender than Boozer & Thibs obviously cares about that.
Yup. Wiggins. Thanks. -

Who is saying he is overrated? Just laugh at people who assume Cleveland is winning a championship with Love. It's not a sure thing Love is an all star playing on a team with more than Division 2 NCAA players.Rotinaj;1638479 wrote:Love would be good on any team. Seems like everyone wants to harp on "defense." The Spurs didn't beat the Heat with defense. A strong defense would be nice but it's not going to guarantee a championship.Commander of Awesome;1638497 wrote:@Probballdraft: Bulls also have some concerns with Love defensively. Commander of AwesomeWiggins playing defense is better receipe for success than love chucking 3s. Esp considering he'll take the top offensive weapon night after night saving lbj's body and energy for the offensive end.

Lol you are just throwing shit hoping it sticks. You get this philosophy in your head and you don't budge. Despite how flawed it is.BR1986FB;1638505 wrote:Seems like everyone wants to harp on "defense." The Spurs didn't beat the Heat with defense.
