Shit I really really hate to see them give up Wiggins, Bennett and a #1 for Love.

He will have so many rebounds (offensive, especially). You now have a Big 3 + Wiggins, which, imo, gives you a big 4 by the playoffs next year. But, you have this for the next 4 years. LeBron is not ever leaving Cleveland again. He will start to age, but Wiggins will probably stay if LeBron is around...now you have Wiggins as a superstar and Kyrie as a stud (assuming he looks better with these guys). Players will want to still come there and play with those 2...and who knows if Love is still around or not, but he is only 25.

That is a pretty no brainer deal to me.
I think we all agree you make the trade if wiggins isn't involved lol

But if wiggins is involved I will be upset.

Helps the money/cap work out, and then after trade MIN, would just cut the guys they don't want, or all of them.

Gibson and jimmy buckets over Bennett wiggins and a 1st? Lmaao
Butler is referred to as Jimmy Buckets? When did this happen?

Parade in Zanesville if the Cavs land K-Mart? :)

Sounds like the T-Wolves asked the Bulls for Noah in order for Chicago to land Love. Perhaps the Bulls are trying to find middle ground with a package starting with Gibson and Butler.

Some tweets from NBA guys about the deal that was made today...

Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) Doubt he stays, but Malcolm Thomas might be the 2nd best defensive big man on the Cavs right now (not counting LeBron)

David Pick (@IAmDPick) Malcolm Thomas is pissed for being dealt to the Cavaliers. He played for David Blatt in Israel. Bad fit, got cut.

Eric Pincus (@EricPincus) If my theory on how Cavs made their deal is correct - they can trade Lucas without delay but need to wait 60 days to package Thomas/Murphy

The tweet about Thomas possibly being the 2nd best defensive big for the Cavs is very telling. 3 seasons and 5 teams. 23 career games. 7.7 boards on D and 1.6 blocks per 36 minutes so perhaps Blatt shared the one thing he liked about him.

Had heard last night that Wiggins WAS part of the deal and the Cavs were picking up this "filler" in order to throw it in the Love deal to also acquire Kevin Martin.

Looking at the deals teams are offering the twolves, I 100% believe wiggins isn't anywhere NEAR this deal. I don't believe any report that has wiggins involved.

I've just heard him referred to as that in Chicago. Not sure if it's his actual nickname or not lol

I would make the trade, however I think there is value in not making the trade. It's not a slam dunk deal in my book; however most important is to KEEP WIGGINS.

Again, I'll eat crow but I'm 100% sure Wiggins will not be involved. You can kiss Bennett, Waiters, and 2 #1 draft picks good bye though; and the Cavs will likely get stuck with a shitty contract.

This would be the first time in NBA history a #1 overall draft pick was traded for a veteran player. Is Love really worth that? He isn't and the Cavs aren't that stupid.

Doesn't matter if the Cavs are or aren't stupid. If Lebron wants Love, and it takes Wiggins, I think Lebron will get Love.

Good lord I've never seen someone get so excited over a prospect.

I don't think that filler deal was made to send those contracts to Minny, but rather for 3rd team facilitation.

I agree. From what I've read, Minny wants to dump some of its contracts(KMART and Barea I've heard) and that's also why the Cavs may have to give up 2 1st rounders; one to Minny and the other for the 3rd team in the trade.

    The best prospect since Lebron.

Here's one of my hangups on not trading for Love: if Waiters AND Bennett AND Wiggins all pan out, we can't afford to keep everyone unless Gilbert wants to pay the repeater luxury tax. I know the money won't matter to him, but the termination of the flexible exceptions could cripple our team's ability to find low-cost filler players.

This isn't necessarily a viewpoint supporting trading Wiggins, or trading for Love, but rather that some sort of trade needs to happen. Thunder went through the same type of issue when KD, RW, Harden, and Ibaka all panned out.

I think OJ Mayo was the best prospect since LeBron at one point too...

I mean look at the trades for Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony; none of those trades netted anyone of significance and certainly not two back to back #1 overall picks + additional 1st round draft picks.

If Love had more than 1 year left on his deal and hadn't expressed interest in leaving, then yes I could see Wiggins being needed to get the deal done. This isn't the case, the Wolves don't have the leverage; Love has it.

I don't think that gport was implying that Mayo was the next Lebron as much as he may have been touted, by analysts, as the next Lebron.

lol. Wiggins is 100x the prospect OJ Mayo ever was.

True, but that was only at ONE point. Wiggins kept, and held, the title from 14 through 18.

Then all of a sudden Embiid comes along, and let's face it: big men with that kind of athleticism will normally be higher touted than any wing player.

Wiggins did nothing to lose the title of best prospect since Lebron. Also, being the "best prospect since Lebron" doesn't mean he's anywhere close to the type of player Lebron is. I'm not accusing anyone on here of making that mistake, but I see it on RCF all the time.
