Correct. There are always high school prospects who are the next best thing at one point.

Wiggins has always been that, and has maintained it through his entire career thus far.

I've got a sick feeling that Wiggins will indeed be involved in the Love trade. Up until now I've held out hope that he'd be a Cav, but it keeps coming back to me that when LeBron didn't mention him in his "letter", that maybe this was a harbinger of things to come. I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.

Lebron didn't mention Delly either, and Delly is going to be a hall of famer.

So from what I've read, the non-guaranteed contracts become guaranteed on August 15th(or at least partially guaranteed). Wiggins cannot be traded for 30 days after signing(he has not signed although is expected to soon and he has to be signed to make the trade work). The puts the earliest Wiggins can be traded is August 23rd, which makes the contracts we just traded for partially guaranteed thus nullifying the benefit.

Wiggins won't be included. Book it.

Bulls offered Gibson, Mirotic, and McDermott..... You serious Clark?

lol. Yeah and the Cavs MUST INCLUDE WIGGINS. Time for the Wolves to get real.

Sounds about right. Love isn't worth the best prospect since '03, last years #1 overall, and future first rounders.

I'm not even sure who the cavs are bidding against. I doubt anything goes down before the season starts.

The Cavs offer of Waiters, Bennett, 2 future 1sts, and salary dumps is still by far the best offer on the market.

Davis is a better prospect because he possesses the same type of relative athleticism and plays a more valuable position. But that doesn't negate your point.

I don't disagree but wiggins' athleticism is unmatched IMO.

Not relatively, which is what I said. Davis' athleticism vs other big men is comparable to Wiggins' athleticism vs other wings.

It doesn't matter though, because the point is both possess superior athleticism for their positions. I'm kind of just nit-picking here.

Sheridan saying Chicago offer "dwarfs" Cleveland's. Says Chicago's gives them 2 or 3 starters immediately. Flip apparently has gone full retard and is in "win now" mode, and doesn't want projects because he thinks Rubio will bolt too. No way those 3 get you into the playoffs in the west. Flip Saunders = the worst

The source who spoke to SheridanHoops said he believed the Bulls’ offer was better in the minds of the Wolves than the Cavs’ current offer of Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a first-round pick.

There's a reason Kevin love barely played as a rookie, the twolves drafted 3 1st PGs in back to back drafts, and they've been a terrible team since KG left. They're terrible talent evaluators and dumber than a box of rocks.

Apparently, they didn't move forward in the brains department by getting rid of that Kahn guy who provided about 75% of Bill Simmons' basketball-related jokes for far too many years.

I really hope we hear that they've accepted this deal. I want the Love saga to end and the Cavs to keep their current team(maybe get a decent C).

Apparently the bulls gave the t-wolves a deadline to accept their offer. If I am griffin I give the t-wolves the same exact deadline with an offer without wiggins.
  • Benny The Jet
That's kind of goofy if true about the deadline. Not like McDermott can go anywhere for another 29 days anyways
  • sportchampps
This has to just be another story being thrown around to try and get Cleveland to offer more. There's absolutely no way they could think that's a better offer.

Unless Golden State will include Klay Thompson (which I've read they still have refused to do) then Cleveland shouldn't even discuss Wiggins. Minnesota is trying to just throw false information out in hope Cleveland is really that desperate.
  • Lovejoy1984
From Twitter, the Bulls really aren't all in for Kevin Love, due to not having enough Minutes for Love/Noah/Gasol. Also with Mirotic being signed as more or less a FA, can't be traded until 12/15.

Also Celtics appear to be moving on from Kevin Love trade.

So back to where we started. Cavs and Warriors.

    Chad Ford agrees with you.

Chad Ford of ESPN has covered every NBA Draft since 2000 and he's ranked the top 25 prospects over the past 15 years. This ranking is based solely on each prospect's perceived potential when coming into the draft.

    1. LeBron James (2003)
    2. Greg Oden (2007)
    3. Yao Ming (2002)
    4. Kevin Durant (2007)
    5. Anthony Davis (2012)
    6. Darko Milicic (2003)
    7. Carmelo Anthony (2003)
    8. Jay Williams (2002)
    9. Joel Embiid (2014)
    10. Andrew Wiggins (2014)

The "best prospect since Lebron" label was from when he was a high schooler. While the list above is still obviously some damn good company to be in, I don't think the expectations for him are at that level anymore where he's considered a once-in-a-decade talent.

Other than Durant and Oden, of guys who I have seen in HS (as Jr/Sr or longer) and NCAA, Wiggins is the best player I have watched since LBJ was a Freshman at ASVSM.

And I have watched all of the above on a list other than Ming and Darko.

It might be bias from not wanting to be wrong when I first saw Wiggins. But, I dont think it is. Ive been in love with his game since he was a SO playing up a level. People forget he is young for his class. Just turned 19 right before the NCAAs, I believe.

He obviously has the physical gifts. I think he has the game. I just don't fully believe he has the killer instinct to be a superstar. He'll put up 16-18 and be a very good defender on talent alone, which might be good enough to put the Cavs over the top as a 3rd option, but I don't personally see him ever being a guy to carry a team to a ring.

Would obviously prefer to keep him, but if push comes to shove I pull the trigger to make the Love move happen. Even if he is the best prospect since Lebron, you have actual Lebron right now, and the Cavs gotta maximize the remaining window of him still being an unstoppable force in the league.

tl;dr, I'm tired of waiting for the future. It's time for the present.
