Cleveland Cavaliers Offseason 2014

lhslep134I have an extremely hard time believing Wiggins was offered due to the wide disparity in salary matching. We'd need a third team to facilitate or give up 3+ players.
No way that's happened. -
sleeperWiggins was signed today, standard rookie deal.

Correct and now the Bulls are throwing their name in the hat to acquire Love to pair with Gasol.vball10set;1637917 wrote:Then nothing can happen (as far as a trade goes) for 30 days, correct? -

Although the full extent of the Bulls' offer wasn't immediately known, it is believed Minnesota would seek a package from Chicago featuring forward Taj Gibson and defensive ace Jimmy Butler in addition to other assets. The Bulls shelved their Love interest while trying to sign Carmelo Anthony away from the New York Knicks but, according to sources, have re-emerged as contenders. -

What makes me laugh is that everyone is insistent that the Cavs give up Wiggins and Bennett, + a #1 pick while Chicago others Gibson/Butler and no one says a word. Wiggins is 12x the player of both Gibson/Butler combined and it would be an absolute sham if the Cavs move him for Love.wildcats20;1637922 wrote:From Marc Stein -

LOL fuck the t-woles if they are actually considering that when the Cavs can offer better without adding Wiggins.wildcats20;1637922 wrote:From Marc Stein -

Exactly, if that truly is their offer I would LOL if I am griffin and offer something slightly better (sans Wiggins). Just shows that Wiggins is not necessary for this trade to happen.sleeper;1637924 wrote:What makes me laugh is that everyone is insistent that the Cavs give up Wiggins and Bennett, + a #1 pick while Chicago others Gibson/Butler and no one says a word. Which just reaffirms that the Wolves are trying to stir shit up to get Wiggins out of a deal. The longer time goes on the better chance Wiggins is not included in any deal.like_that;1637931 wrote:Exactly, if that truly is their offer I would LOL if I am griffin and offer something slightly better (sans Wiggins). SportsAndLadyGlad to see wiggins signed and that trade nonsense is done.
Gibson and jimmy buckets over Bennett wiggins and a 1st? Lmaao -
like_thatSignals emanating from Cleveland are clear that Cavs think they'll ultimately construct a trade framework Minnesota will accept for KLove

It isnt done until Wiggins is playing for a month, imo. Wolves will COMPLETELY lose any leverage they have (slim to none as it is, imo) when the Cavs realize what they have.SportsAndLady;1637939 wrote:Glad to see wiggins signed and that trade nonsense is done.

robj55What would the expectations numbers wise be for Wiggins if he stays on this Cavs team?

And it won't include Wiggins. I'll eat crow otherwise, but Wiggins is a Cav; Love or not.like_that;1637940 wrote:Signals emanating from Cleveland are clear that Cavs think they'll ultimately construct a trade framework Minnesota will accept for KLove

Too early to tell, since there is no track record. We dont know how Kyrie, LeBron and Wiggins would play when on the same court. I would venture to say if he got starters minutes, he could put up 10, 5, 3 on just playing hard. When factoring in being a part of the offense, Id think he could get another 4-6 points and another assist. Rebounds are probably gonna stay the same since its effort to begin with.robj55;1637942 wrote:What would the expectations numbers wise be for Wiggins if he stays on this Cavs team? -

Doesn't seem logical at all to include Wiggins when the best offer out there is Taj Gibson + "assets."sleeper;1637945 wrote:And it won't include Wiggins. I'll eat crow otherwise, but Wiggins is a Cav; Love or not.
Also if the cavs were going to offer Wiggins wouldn't it have been a done deal by now? -

If this article is true, the Cavs front office is dumb as Hell.....sleeper;1637945 wrote:And it won't include Wiggins. I'll eat crow otherwise, but Wiggins is a Cav; Love or not.

Yes. The Wolves would have accepted Wiggins already if true.like_that;1637948 wrote:Doesn't seem logical at all to include Wiggins when the best offer out there is Taj Gibson + "assets."

I think the Cavs end up giving up Waiters, Bennett, and a first round draft pick for Love + a third team(salary dump/expiring/draft pick, etc.) to make the trade work. I still think Bennett, Waiters, and a 1st is a lot to give up for a player who's going to leave the Wolves anyway. My stance is I want to keep the team we have now and pick up a center in FA. -

Eh, maybe it is dumb. I actually don't really care if we get Love, I'd rather have the young talent + picks.BR1986FB;1637950 wrote:If this article is true, the Cavs front office is dumb as Hell.....

Woo hoo ! The #22 pick in the draft after the Cavs fall just short of winning a championship. Awesome!sleeper;1637953 wrote:Eh, maybe it is dumb. I actually don't really care if we get Love, I'd rather have the young talent + picks. -
sleeperMy logic is pretty simple. I think we have a better chance at winning multiple championships with the current young core(Lebron, Wiggins, Irving, Bennett, Waiters, TT) + multiple first round draft picks over the next few years vs. trading away all those pieces for a player who is going to demand a max deal(Cavs will have 3 max players) and we'll spend the rest of Lebron's prime unable to make any moves. Now, Love may give us a slight(very slight) better chance at winning a championship in the next 2-3 years but the current team with the assets we have has a much better chance at winning 2-3 championships over the next 6 years.
