He is def on the up and up. If they would have waited until after he does great again this season, takes the next step, the bengals would be on the hook for much, much more.

When the details come out is when we will find out truly how good, or bad, it is.

We get you are trying to reverse jinx him. It's fucking obvious, just stop.

With that being said, he is nowhere near worth 115m and if he took an incentive contract he is a dipshit.

Dalton got 115 Mill. LOLLLLLL, unless its SUPER incentive based like Kaep, this is an epic failure
  • Azubuike24
They haven't released the deal, but people on a few forums are saying it's a similar deal. Very little guaranteed money compared to the total figure. We'll see. I support Dalton (as we discussed a few pages back, I think he gets unnecessary flack), but I was also on the side of waiting another year before extending him. Worst-case scenario, he would've won more this year and you end up paying him pretty similar money.

Actually, not trying to reverse jinx him, but thanks for recognizng my M.O.
He has put up solid regular season numbers so far. Yeah, he has faltered in the playoffs. I was at the playoff game last year and I didnt see any sense or urgency on that side of the ball and I think that stems from the OC. Hu Jackson is bringing a more up tempo, no huddle style that I think is going to help AD and the offense big time.

My point Is when they put the game in his hands, like the playoffs, he sucks. It's not a hard concept really. Although, that's steeler nation for you

and they dont put the game in his hands during the regular season?
I thought they play called more conservatively in the postseason than they did in the playoffs.

But as as said...Jackson is bringing more of an uptempo style to the offense and Look for Dalton's numbers to improve.

He totally shit his pants when it counted ala Tony Romo. Some of those throws were atrocious. Until he doesn't do that again I dgaf what he does during the regular season.

I cant disagree with you there. The bengals gambled with this deal, no doubt, but they obviously felt that AD is on the cusp and could cost them a whole helluvalot more if he achieves what they think he will.

I hope he does flop and fucks the bengals franchise for a long time, but I think he is on the rise.

Romo has a very, very high 4th qtr QBR. Part of it though is because he sucks early in the games and the team falls behind, and he gets to throw it more later to get back into the gmae

Like Azu said, it's gotta be very incentive-laden. The media just likes to go nutty when they see $115 mil, but it's all about the guaranteed money.

His qbr is good for 23rd out of qualifying qbs. Get out of here with your nonsense

Good column on Dalton that focuses on what his main problem is: he sucks under pressure. I guess if he gets better in that situation, he could be a worthwhile investment, but I don't know how that'll work out.

We all know that Dalton hasn't played well in the playoffs but, as has been mentioned, what are the Bengals going to get off the street better than him? He puts up good regular season numbers and then stinks in the playoffs. For now, as a Browns fan, I'm glad he's in our division but Cincy isn't going to find much better on the scrap heap. As for as bad as he's been, Browns fans ould be pissing down their legs to have a QB lead them to three consectutive playoff appearances. That being said, Dalton still sucks.

He didn't lead them to the playoffs, the defense and aj green did. They would've been super bowl contenders the past 2 years had he not been on there

Not everybody gets Russell Wilson. You guys see a QB that's 0-3 in the playoffs...I see a QB who has lead his team to playoffs three times and should only get better

I see a QB that is not worth 116 million and is average if you take green out of the game. I get the argument that it's hard to find a QB, but these contracts for some of these guys are ridiculous.

I see a qb who didn't lead shit. The defense did. That's like saying I see a cb(newman) who lead his team to the playoffs 3 straight years.

Cleveland had a good defense and an elite WR last season. Why didn't they make the playoffs?

Cleveland had a good defense but I believe one of the worst in the Redzone

and couldn't get off the field on 3rd down and couldn't hold a lead in the 4th quarter.....and the Browns had zero running game last year while the Bengals had a decent running game most of the time.

Anyone know if Amazon and Madden are doing the same promotion as last yr? Order madden and get online streaming of NFL games included?

Horrible comparison. There are PLENTY of other factors that led to a 4 win season for the browns. I am not saying dalton is a complete pile of shit. He is more of a poor mans Matt Schaub IMO. Same type of roster when Houston was doing well. Yes, I would have taken that production from him last year, but I sure as hell wouldn't hope for a 115m contract for him.
