Lol. Come on...he should have shot, then made a horrible pass to Bradley that was luckily deflected to Aron.

Zardes comes on for him, playing as a wide striker, and immediately makes great runs and creates a goal.

I am a huge Jozy supporter, but he has been brutal recently.

Fabian Johnson getting some run. I like it.
  • Mulva
That was not a very impressive performance.
  • OSH
Sod laid over turf...worst conditions ever.
  • Fab1b
I just got to watch the game. How did Haiti not score? I guess wins don't need to be pretty but damn that was ugly!

Jurgen's expieriments has got to stop. Timmy Chandler is garbage. Alvarado and Brooks are both just not good enough right now.

I know todays game isn't important but jesus these guys act like they've never played together.

    Back line looks great tonight.....

Pretty big rumors out there in the soccer community that Crew SC are looking at relocating.

I've heard this off and on for quite some time now. I hate it if it is possibly true.

The owner wants a new stadium. Columbus seems to not be very cooperative in finding a better location. The city gets all the parking on gamedays now, lost income (or lost fan experience) if Crew get parking. One of the lowest averages in the league for attendance. Not looking good for them to stay.

Why do they want a new stadium? Wasn't it just built in 1999? I know attendance is bad because every week they are giving away tickets to the games on vettixs. It's a pretty basic stadium but I'm not sure what else they could want.

Cuba beats Guatemala, so it's Cuba in the quarters and Haiti/Jamaica in the semis.
  • sportchampps
Mexico might finish 2nd in their group Lol
  • Mulva
2nd half of this one has been fun. Andres Guardado equalizes at 3.
  • Mulva
And just like that, Mexico going to win 4-3 on an own goal.
  • Mulva
Holy shit. 4-4. Trinidad & Tobago off the corner as the Mexican douchebags rain trash onto the field. Insane last 40 minutes.
  • sportchampps
The last 10 minutes alone was awesome
  • Ytowngirlinfla
    Mexico garbage fans as always.
  • sportchampps
Yeah throwing shit on the last corner lead to instant karma
  • like_that
I am surprised Costa Rica was only able to manage 3 points from their group. What's going on there? They may be a tough match up for Mexico in the qtrs.

I think the new stadium is wanted because of the lack of "bells and whistles." Being the first stadium, it doesn't have all the amenities that others have. Anymore, stadiums are becoming luxurious to watch games at -- a lot of unnecessaries driving up the cost of attendance (see: Stadiums on Last Week Tonight, as an example).

Also, the new stadium is wanted in a "better" location. Put it downtown where there's "night life." There's more that can be done before/after the match. There's better accessibility. This may be 1a or 1b to the reasons for a new stadium, with the above being the other top reason.

If they want to stay, they need to increase the interest in the team. To increase the in the team, they need to kill the TV package that they have now with TWC, IMO.

I refuse to follow the Crew if the only way that I can see them is to buy a ticket. I was there from the first game at the 'Shoe, but refuse to patronize them now. If they would broadcast their games to a wider audience I, and alot of others would begin to follow them closer and attend the games in person.

Maybe the intent of restricting TV access was to drive more fans to actually attend games in person, but it has had an opposite effect, IMO

While I agree with most of it...we don't really know IF or WHAT the other TV packages were. I don't fault CCSC for picking that deal if it made financial sense -- in terms of visibility or interest in garnering sponsorship through television deals. It's a crappy package, I know...and I'm not even in Ohio. But, I do know 2 hours from Ohio, in Kentucky, I couldn't watch CCSC games through TWC.

It sucks. I don't blame them if it's all that were available either. It's not like before the TV deal were signed they were getting good crowds (in the last few years they said they averaged around 14,000...I know that to be false because I watched games there from 2011-2013 and they'd be lucky to have 10,000 on many games I went to). I haven't looked, but what was viewership like when they were on Fox Sports Ohio? That'd be a telling sign of what package offers may have come around.

Piss me off if crew left. Soccer has always been big in central ohio.
    Usa vs Cuba tmrw.
  • Fab1b
4 Cuban defectors already...game better not be close. US has played very uninspired and down to competition level through the group.
  • SportsAndLady
    US up 6-0

    Cuba is horrible
