Midstate01I don't want to lose ward. But if it means getting byrd, then I'm OK with it.

I would personally prefer Byrd over Ward, assuming those rumors have merit.Ironman92;1586601 wrote:You don't wanna lose Ward do you? He has that chip every defense needs. -
like_thatI just don't get how we have all this cap room and we can't even fucking sign out own pro bowlers. What the hell was the point in saving all this cap?
-
Commander of AwesomeWard is a hard hitting SS. Not the end all be all IMO. Replaceable.
-
like_thatI don't buy Byrd is better than ward, and it will piss me off if we end up spending more on Byrd than we would have on ward.

Commander of Awesome
I agree, should have resigned Ward, but he's basically a LBer playing safety. Can't cover worth a shit, not a difference maker/play maker in the secondary IMO.like_that;1586605 wrote:I just don't get how we have all this cap room and we can't even fucking sign out own pro bowlers. Yeah a pro bowl safety who creates turnovers is easily replaceable. /sarcasmCommander of Awesome;1586606 wrote:Ward is a hard hitting SS. Not the end all be all IMO. Replaceable. -

Byrd had significantly more turn overs. That's actually an arguement against ward.like_that;1586609 wrote:Yeah a pro bowl safety who creates turnovers is easily replaceable. /sarcasm -

Agreed. Byrd has 20 INTs in his career compared to Ward. I'll take a ballhawks safety over hard bitter. Now had Goddell not changed the NFL and your safety could be a hard hitter still it'd be hard to let Ward go, but Goodell has ruined the hard hitting safety. Too bad we can't have both.Commander of Awesome;1586610 wrote:Byrd had significantly more turn overs. That's actually an arguement against ward. -

I wouldnt blame it on Goodell. The lawsuit against the league from past players has gone a long way in determining the direction of the league. If you are getting sued for such things then the next step is taking precautions, many being overly cautious and it sucks at times but the players union wanted safety, and the league is getting them that -
Midstate01Are we getting new unis??

shook_17I'd puke if the Browns traded up to #2 to select Bortles. Bridgewater is the best qb of this class and will be a very successful pro. I don't get it, the last two years Bridgewater has been pimped to be this sure fire number 1 overall pick now that they have all the time in the world to degrade qbs he isn't worthy? Screw that, show me the film, film shows me hes the best in the class.

I think Bridgewater and Bortles will both be very good pros, not sure I would trade up, unless I thought they would both be gone at #4, and the price wasn't ridiculous.shook_17;1586931 wrote:I'd puke if the Browns traded up to #2 to select Bortles. Also, I saw last night that Pettine stated the Browns didn't talk to Manziel at the combine. -
Dr. KnOiTaLLFor all you guys that are flipping out about the Browns and Ward not striking a deal yet...
T.J. Ward - DB - Browns
Free agent T.J. Ward's player rep says he's had "detailed contract discussions" with the Browns.
Ward's rep says the sides have had extensive talks since the Combine, and that Ward "(remains) open to further discussions." It sounds like a deal could still be struck before Tuesday's official start of free agency, but that Ward is ready to hit the open market after he wasn't franchise tagged. The sides' exclusive negotiating window ends Saturday. -
Lovejoy1984If we don't re-sign Ward, hoping for Byrd.
Really don't want to trade up for any of the QB's in this draft. -
like_thatWe won't retain ward or sign Brryd. Book it.

se-alumI'm starting to really worry that the Browns will take Carr at 26. I really want nothing to do with Carr, would be ok with Garopollo(sp?) I think. Still want a QB if Bortles or Bridgewater is there at #4.

like_thatBess has been released. Good riddance.

Bridgewater! He will be the best of the class. Bortles I'm unsure of, and I love Manziel, I think he can be great.se-alum;1587068 wrote:I'm starting to really worry that the Browns will take Carr at 26. I'd be very happy with Bridgewater or Bortles, though I like Bortles more.shook_17;1587134 wrote:Bridgewater! He will be the best of the class. Bortles I'm unsure of, and I love Manziel, I think he can be great. -
shook_17Colts signed Jackson 4 year 22 million. 11 million guaranteed

mucalum49Wouldn't mind swapping ILB with the Colts and snagging Pat Angerer if he shows he's recovered from his surgery. Still a young, talented LB that had a couple seasons derailed by injuries. D'Qwell wasn't without his own injury issues around the same stage of his career as Angerer is now. And he was able to rebound nicely and become consistent and play all 16 games the next three seasons.
