saltoOne of the commentators mentioned Manziel possibly starting the second preseason game.

Well if they want a fair evaluation of those two then I think both need to start preseason games. They are vanilla enough on defense and if JM would always go against the other teams second defense later in the game then that wouldnt be quite fair either.salto;1639716 wrote:One of the commentators mentioned Manziel possibly starting the second preseason game. -
IggyPride00Dan Wetzl from Yahoo was just on Hooley and Jerrod talking about what a sham the QB competition is and how the Browns have done everything possible to ensure Johnny never had a fair shot at starting no matter how hard he worked.
I guess he is a Cleveland basher as well for daring to give voice to what so many of us have known all along about this QB "competition".
One wonders why they even drafted Johnny when they had such an organizational Hard-on for Hoyer. They seem more interested in breaking Johnny's ego than preparing him to be the future of the Cleveland Browns.
That is the kind of game the Joe Banner's of the world used to love to play. Apparently Farmer learned alot of the "what not to do" stuff from the guy. -

Lol, you're a joke. Manziel is the one creating negative separation between himself and Hoyer by spending more time partying that getting into his playbook. As a result, his grasp on the system is not up to speed yet. However, we're being told that it is improving every day. Well duh, just about anything improves with additional reps, but Johnny needs to take the potential starting role seriously if he wants to be the guy. In my opinion, he hasn't done this yet. Why should the Browns put everything they've got into the kid when he isn't willing to reciprocate? Trust me, I think it's obvious that Johnny has the physical tools to be successful in the NFL and carry the Browns to a lot of victories, I'm just not certain yet that he has the mental capacity to do so.IggyPride00;1639720 wrote:Dan Wetzl from Yahoo was just on Hooley and Jerrod talking about what a sham the QB competition is and how the Browns have done everything possible to ensure Johnny never had a fair shot at starting no matter how hard he worked.

Why should Johnny put his everything into a competition that was clearly rigged against him? He knows the entire coaching staff is fellating Hoyer right now, as does the national media who is starting to call the Browns on it thank God.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1639730 wrote:Lol, you're a joke. I know personally I would have a hard time getting motivated to give my all when the team's owner tells me to get used to holding a clip board, and then they rig the competition in a way that ensure I have no legit chance to win the job because they plan on starting whoever starts game 3 of the pre-season (which will be Hoyer).
Remove your heads from the sand people, the writing has been on the wall the entire off-season about the organization's zest to commit long term to Hoyer. Johnny is barely and afterthought at this point. -
Midstate01My thought after watching practice live, hoyer is WAY WAY WAY ahead of JFF. Hoyer was good almost the whole day. jFF picked it up later in practice but he was really bad early on. Other than the int, he was very good when he rolled out but not very good when in the pocket. If he stayed in the pocket, he seemed to lock onto one receiver and never read the defense. He also would make the quickest pass he could, usually to a receiver barely off the line or the rb.
But I do think he will get better and better. He was very engaged with the coaches when other qbs were taking snaps. He was always talking to someone and looking at the plays on paper. And for all I know they were telling him where to go with the ball.
Josh Gordon is a damn monster. The guy catches everything. And he's so smooth. Sucks he's going to be out.
Today's practice was the first in pads but there wasn't much energy with the players. I think it was due to not really being able to hit. They had to pull up and avoid contact. Thursday would be a great day to be at camp. -
ZWICK 4 PREZDude, you have an unhealthy obsession with Manziel.

Why would a rookie QB, who hasn't proven a fucking THING, put his all into training camp his rookie year? Lmao you act like we drafted Jesus Christ himself. -
Commander of AwesomeYeah the browns have a conspiracy to make sure a first round draft pick doesn't play. /idiotic sarcasm

Pathetic... you must be a Gen Z baby based on your thought process. Expecting that everything should be given and nothing should be earned. Well, sorry to burst your bubble little boy, but the world doesn't work that way, ESPECIALLY not northeast Ohio. "In Northeast Ohio, nothing is given. Everything is earned. You work for what you have." Is Johnny ready to accept that challenge? Obviously, not yet.IggyPride00;1639732 wrote:Why should Johnny put his everything into a competition that was clearly rigged against him? The browns drafted him because farmer/halsam/pettine hate manziel and wanted to ruin his career.Commander of Awesome;1639741 wrote:Yeah the browns have a conspiracy to make sure a first round draft pick doesn't play. /idiotic sarcasm -
lhslep134Why are you guys responding to N-CF? He's not a Cleveland fan.

He didn't break his leg, he tore his acl. You dumb fucking bitchIggyPride00;1639517 wrote:I wish Hoyer would break his other freaking leg so Johnny Football can play.
This is so typical of Cleveland.
We draft a guy in the 1st round who is leading the free world in jersey sales but we are going to sit him in favor of a career journeyman who won't lead this team to shit in the long term.
Our Goldberg lookalike head coach is more worried about being a hardass putting Johnny in his place with his butt buddy Hoyer than he is worrying about the long term health of the franchise by getting Johnny out there and giving the world what we want.
I hope Hoyer throws 5 INT's opening day so that week 2 the fans boo him out of the stadium if Johnny isn't on the field.
The Browns are going to ruin Manziel's career by not letting him play and letting a "competition" fester the same way we did with Quinn/Anderson back in the day. -
IggyPride00Nick Camino on 1100 is literally reading my OC posts I think.
He was just on the radio talking about how the Hoyer obsession is shaping up to be the biggest OIC moment in the history of the Cleveland Browns (and that is saying alot).
Only in Cleveland can a team that has something like 6-7 consecutive 10 loss seasons draft one of the most exciting QB's in college football history (who leads the world in jersey sales) in the 1st round and yet instead be rallying behind a soon to be 29 year old career back-up coming off a torn ACL who has 4 career starts.
Literally the only city in the NFL it could happen in. -

IggyPride00When did a difference of opinion become a bannable offense?
Maybe you should start a campaign to get 1100's radio license revoked as well for speaking off the reservation. -

I can't take your shit every day on here. And it's the third damn day of training camp.
You have no idea who will be the QB of the Browns so just STFU and wait for the decision. -
Crimson streakI'm heading down to DC for the redskins browns preseason game. I'm pretty pumped even if it is only preseason.

Expect a shitty stadium but a good time. Should meet up with other browns posters who live in the area.Crimson streak;1639798 wrote:I'm heading down to DC for the redskins browns preseason game. I'm pretty pumped even if it is only preseason. -

What exactly do you mean obviously not yet? From everything the coaches and GM have been saying, Manziel is working hard and making huge strides. A little tired of assholes like Mary Kay spewing her worthless opinion who as to who is performing better. Even Pluto is making me cringe with his articles lately.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1639743 wrote:Pathetic... you must be a Gen Z baby based on your thought process. Barring an injury. I will wager anyone here up to 100 clams that Johnny Football will win the job no later than week 4. Any takers? -
BR1986FBFeeling VERY optimistic this morning. I'm thinking the Browns may have dodged a bullet with Josh Gordon. He'll do time but I'm thinking 4-6 games, max.
