2013/14 NBA season chatter - let the LBJ hating begin!

Good response, I'd probably have something similar when facts outweigh my logic. Don't even know why I'm arguing about something that really isn't important anyway.KB0938;1620008 wrote:LOL I give up, even when your own logic is used against you, you disagree with it. You're right Mahimi is quality depth because he has a ring -

Yep he sucks because he didn't gel with that team. Something going on behind the scenes with that team, might be a while before it comes out but definitely something there. You know just like I know that the NBA is as much about opportunity as it is anything else, everyone in that league is a stud and can play. Hell there was a game in April with the Pacers where Turner started for George and put up 23, 7 and 9 on 50% shooting, you can't tell me the kid isn't good enough to play for this team or any other team in the league.Azubuike24;1620006 wrote:I should've been more specific. 50 PG/SG/SF. Obviously most PF's and C's aren't going to play a role similar to ET. I'd say he's a borderline top 50 player, but then again, when ranking a player's value don't we have to weigh some of that on what the hell else they do besides "get their own?" He's in a perfect position on a team who is desperate for bench scoring and creating offense, yet hasn't really seen the floor. They are on the biggest stage against the B2B defending champs...and he's nowhere to be found. That's telling, and a big reason I wouldn't consider him that good. -
robj55I apologize if I insulted anyone, shouldn't get worked up over some dumb argument.

Heretic
Involving an argument that makes no sense at all. Dude averaged a bit under 9 minutes a game the year he got a ring with Dallas (and, therefore, apparently became a made man). He averaged 16 a game during the regular season this year and is averaging 10 a game in this series, which is the sort of thing you expect to see happen to the average bench player when the games actually matter (kind of like how, in college basketball, when you go from non-conference games against nobodies to conference games against more potent opposition, those guys further down on the bench like Della Valle and Loving on this year's OSU team tend to get fewer minutes on a game-by-game basis). Say what you want about Vogel as a coach (and considering how Miami's done a good job making HT adjustments that he couldn't react to, at least something can definitely be said), but this guy and his PT has N-O-T-H-I-N-G to do with it.Automatik;1620027 wrote:5 pages on the impact of Ian Mahinmi. It's about enough to make me think the spirit of SQ "MVP JOEL ANTHONY!!!!" ME? has entered Rob with how another role player big man has suddenly gained this much importance to OC NBA talk. -
Lovejoy1984This thread brought the lulz.

Pick6also, rob, ET blows.

sportchamppsEvan Turner is good but he has attitude problems and has since Atleast Ohio State. If you read the Club Tril blog or book you read about ET. Basically he is a good guy but has trust issues. I know they said his freshmen year he didn't trust the coaching staff or teammates. He feels like everyone is always out to get him. Once he was on the team awhile he warmed up to everyone and enjoyed the coaches and teammates. I have to figure that's why it took him some time to adjust in Philly and why he is struggling with the Pacers. His distrust of new situations throws everyone off at first including himself until he gets comfortable. I know he threw a punch at Mark Titus at OSU over foul shots in practice and he supposedly got into with Stephenson during practice in Indy.

Lovejoy1984It all depends on what you value in a PG.
-
KB0938If you think hes better than TP, I guess I can understand that. If you think hes better than CP3, I have no idea why you think that. In flashes like tonight he has the tools to be the best PG in the game, but he is WILDLY inconsistent and more times than not has horrible shooting games and turns it over quite a bit
And arent you the one downgrading Paul George due to his consistency.... -

Winning and leadership. Lets discuss when Westbrook does either.HighRoller74;1620116 wrote:It all depends on what you value in a PG. -

how many triple doubles or 40 pt games has PG had this playoffs? Westbrook is a superstar and PG isn't. Also, outside of an out of the world game 1 by CP3, westbrook pretty much dominated them in their series.KB0938;1620121 wrote:If you think hes better than TP, I guess I can understand that. He does both. More of a leader than Durant and more winning than whatever other PG you want to claim is better.Azubuike24;1620122 wrote:Winning and leadership. Lets discuss when Westbrook does either. -

PG has a 39 point game and quite a few games where he stacks the stat sheet as well but the Paul George comment was really beside the point.Pick6;1620126 wrote:how many triple doubles or 40 pt games has PG had this playoffs? Westbrook is a superstar and PG isn't.

Just because Westbrook had 1 good game, albeit a really really damn good game, doesnt make him the best PG in the NBA. And I dont dislike Westbrook at all, just dont find him to be the best PG in the NBA -

He has the edge on neither of those compared to Tony Parker.Pick6;1620126 wrote: He does both. More of a leader than Durant and more winning than whatever other PG you want to claim is better.
And may have more wins than Cp3, but hes not even in the same ballpark as far as leading a team -
Azubuike24He's played his entire career next to KD, and thus, has the same overall results. Hard to really distinguish them. Right now, they are going down Stockton and Malone territory.

He's been doing it the majority of the playoffs. He has 3 triple doubles so far this post season. Who else even has 1 in the post season?KB0938;1620137 wrote:PG has a 39 point game and quite a few games where he stacks the stat sheet as well but the Paul George comment was really beside the point.
