2013/2014 Columbus Blue Jackets

Well, we can count Kesler out; sounds like he wouldn't waive his NTC to come to Columbus. Guess the rift between him and Umberger is a big one.

Portzline has an article up about the deadline: http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/blogs/puck-rakers/2014/03/a-murky-read.html

I'm hoping they can move Gaborik for a good return.

Kesler isn't going to come here. He likes to ride coat tails. He wants to ride Cindy Crosby's, just like he rode the Sedins.

Good start...Jackets up 3-0 after the first.

Great win on a back and back

Please don't trade Anisimov or Johansen. I'm glad Kesler turned the trade down if we would have given up one of those two. Kesler is older and a fading star while those two are young and getting much better.

Johansen is as untouchable as Bob. And you can throw Jenner on that list.

Hopefully they find a good buyer for Gaborik. I saw where the kings and the Bruins are high on him. The CBJ need D help.

Gaborik is out the door. A couple picks and a throwaway in return.
  • TedSheckler
And cap space for another move. Looks for a RW to get moved for D. Atkinson?

They picked up Nich Shultz (who stinks) from Edmonton. They didn't get any better or any worse today and picked up some draft picks.

I'm good with what they did today. The core of this team is clicking very well right now.

Big loss in Chicago but up 1-0 late in Nashville in a great hockey game.

Red hot arty party and the shutout by Bob. 1-0 onto Dallas

The Eastern conference race is so tight right now. Six teams within 2 points of the last wild card spot (Philadelphia 73, NYR 72, Detroit 71, Columbus 71, Washington 70, NJ 69).

As of today, chances at a playoff spot based on schedule, assuming Pittsburgh, Boston, Tampa Bay and Montreal are locks...

    New York: 79.4%
    Philadelphia 72.3%
    Toronto: 69.8%
    Detroit: 64%
    Columbus: 60.4%
    New Jersey: 38.2%
    Washington: 14.2%
    Ottawa: 8.6%

This puts the CBJ at the 9-seed. However, in reality, any chance to advance is going to mean trying to get the 6th or better. Boston and Pittsburgh are going to whip anyone in a first round series...

Columbus jumped ahead of Detroit today after the Rangers beat them in regulation. They are sitting in a wildcard spot because of regulation wins.

In Dallas tonight who will be looking for payback. Detroit Wednesday in nwa

    With McAHLinney in goal
  • gorocks99
Probably a smart call to rest Bob tonight, keep him fresh for the game against Detroit tomorrow. Tim Thomas will be in net for the Stars.

Game stopped after a Dallas player collapsed on the bench, they say he is conscious now though.
  • TedSheckler
    It is Perverley.
  • wildcats20
Saying he will be ok, according to the Dallas coach.
  • gorocks99
    Crazy situation.
  • TedSheckler
Game is postponed until a later date.
  • Azubuike24
Why would they cancel the game? Not to be insensitive, but things happen in sports all the time. Catastrophic injuries. Rarely do games get completely postponed. Stopped for a long while, maybe. Not cancelled.
