Azubuike24I didn't do that with my tickets, but I have no clue what those I gave the pre-sale code information to will do with them. It was just a general comment about the tickets selling out so quickly. The prospect of playing the Penguins definitely means people snatched up the tickets immediately.

Small markets can absolutely be ones, the atmosphere for Game 3 and 4 when Detroit played them was electric in that arena. It's just you need more local success to get the fans and more importantly the kids into hockey. Obviously Detroit being legendary gives them such a huge fan base, but also when 55,000 kids play hockey in the state that really makes a generation of those who live hockey and continue to watchTedSheckler;1604062 wrote:Playoff tickets sold out in 4 minutes.
Yea, Columbus isn't a hockey town.
The only stat you need to know is this about growing the game in Columbus, since Crosby's arrival Pennsylvania youth hockey has grown by 41%. If CBJ can sustain this, that fan base will explode and be permanent -
sportchamppsYeah the sad thing is during games later in the season that really mattered for the playoff race the Bluejackets were only getting 13-14k inside and only another 6-8k watching on tv. That is just plain sad but the fans who do go are very vocal. I went to around 10 games this year and never paid more then $35 for a lower bowl seat.

$35! Haha I'm gonna move to Columbus if that's the case. I bought tickets for Florida on a weekend, lower bowl center ice, and it was $55 a piece. Was offered by the same guy $90 a piece for when Pittsburgh came to townsportchampps;1604173 wrote:Yeah the sad thing is during games later in the season that really mattered for the playoff race the Bluejackets were only getting 13-14k inside and only another 6-8k watching on tv. You're getting some fair weather fans coming out of the woodwork now obviously, and you finally gain a lot of the people who only care about OSU at this time of the year since both of the only 2 sports anyone gives a shit about (football and basketball) are oversportchampps;1604173 wrote:Yeah the sad thing is during games later in the season that really mattered for the playoff race the Bluejackets were only getting 13-14k inside and only another 6-8k watching on tv. That seems like an almost impossibly low TV number.sportchampps;1604173 wrote:Yeah the sad thing is during games later in the season that really mattered for the playoff race the Bluejackets were only getting 13-14k inside and only another 6-8k watching on tv. sportchamppsYeah I heard it on 97.1 and I was shocked at the tv numbers and these were games that were in the last couple weeks they were talking about. Who knows how bad it was at the beginning of the year.

sportchamppsHere's an article about attendance and tv. Says the bluejackets only averaged 6k households per game this year. Http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/stories/2014/03/28/box-office-blues.html
thats still better then the Cavs on fox sports though. -

Well since FSOhio is broken into multiple feeds I believe it. Half of the state gets the Cavs instead, combined with their fan struggles to begin withMulva;1604494 wrote:That seems like an almost impossibly low TV number. -

I actually just saw that article. Would have thought all of the numbers were higher, honestly. It doesn't look so bad in comparison to the others.sportchampps;1604496 wrote:Here's an article about attendance and tv. Says the bluejackets only averaged 6k households per game this year.
