This game looks like it has a Perez fuck up written all over it.

Until Gomes straight gunned down Cespedes! That was a rocket!
  • Laley23
    Yan Gomes saved the day.

RBI on the Sac Fly and just ended any shot of a rally for Oakland with that laser to 2nd base!

Can we get rid of marson yet? I really like Gomes.

Only problem is Tito does too, and because of that, he wants him to play everyday. With Santana, that means he will have to be in the minors to get that playing time.

I know unfortunately. Gomes definitely deserves to be the back up catcher.

Yep. Youth is going to be what keeps him down there lol

And as I type this I see Raburn double...and watch Stubbs look at strike 3...not once...but twice....and strand him at third.

Nobody knows if Raburn will continue to play like this. But in real life, you perform, you get rewarded. It's the way it works BL.

*Edit 353 vs 257 on the current batting averages.

Did you see Stubbs run the ball down in center tonight? That's what I mean by Raburn is half the player Stubbs is. Until Bourne is back you can't Stubbs. Once Bourne is back you can occasionally start Raburn over him in right but it's only a matter of time till Raburn is Raburn. I'll take .257 out of my 9 hole hitting lock down defender all day.

    All damn day.

Look at Raburn's numbers the last 2 years. He will eventually head towards those. Hell, he has already hit more home runs this year and more RBI than the last two years combined.

All this debate about who is going to sit and who is going to play is moot. Have you been watching Tito manage this team??? He's making sure every one is getting PT. He may have the best bench in baseball, and he is making sure they are all staying fresh and sharp.

Just back from the game....(4th time). Get your asses down there. This is a fun and exciting team to watch. Last year everybody(including myself) bitched that the owner was cheap and not spending money to put a competitive team on the field. Well, he stepped up and spent some money....so now it's our turn. As mentioned earlier, tickets are cheap, concessions are cheap, parking is cheap....and the owner spent in the off season, so he is not cheap either.

For now, yes. It has been awesome.

We are all more speculating when Bourn comes back in a few days. That will be when we see what Tito has planned for the bench. I would guess it will be similar, but you do have more "everyday" guys out there when Bourn is healthy

I was at the Clippers game tonight, It was a double header so only 7 innings. Bauer had a guy on 2nd and 3rd with 2 out sin the 7th and they benched him to a bunch of boos. The next pitcher comes in and gives up a single (scoring both) and then a HR and we lost 4-2! Should have left Bauer in

Underwood talked about this 7 inning front end of the d.h He said Bauer gave up maybe one hit, like 18 walks and 7 hit batters. Sounds like his starts with the tribe.

9,000 in attendence. Dolan should probably move the team.

I can't believe there's even a discussion about Stubbs playing or not. The guy gets to balls others dream about. And he does it effortlessly.

13 errors in 3 years in Cincinnati for an outfielder is beyond horrible.

It is bad for an OF. 13 errors in a career for guys like Sizemore. But yeah, it isnt anything I would get too worked up about. He gets to balls that our previous RF (where he will play most of the time) got to on 2 hops.

I think his errors are mostly based off of poor angles taken too walls and such. Not as much with the actual glove or throws. But thats just speculation.

All of the defensives metrics have him as a ++++ defender. His offense is about replacement level but his defense makes him a +WAR player. I don't care if you turn a couple singles into doubles with a boot in the outfield if you are turning extra hit base hits into out on a routine basis.

    Thats my main point.

13 errors is not good, but you cant only go off of that. You have to look deeper into them.

I agree with you. I meant to quote the footwedge post.
