Count me in as a Stubbs hater. I still say park Stubbs and play Raburn in right when Bourne returns. At least until his 344 batting average collapses.HitsRus;1439169 wrote:Now 7-2 Tribe.
I don't know about the rest of you Tribe fans, but I'm really liking the deal the brought Stubbs, Bauer, Shaw and Albers. After listening to Reds fans rip Stubbs, I am pleasantly surprised with both his offense AND defense. I know Reds fans are really liking Choo, but I make this deal again any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Tribe on a pace to hit 224 home runs. And congrats to Ubaldo for winning consecutive starts...I think that is a first for him since 2010. -

Marketing says that "this is a tribe town". Marketing is wrong.iclfan2;1439148 wrote:9,500 at the game tonight. Geez. I'm gonn try to go on Wednesday. -

Raburn aint much better. Slightly better career average, about equal power and WAY less speed.Footwedge;1439259 wrote:Count me in as a Stubbs hater. I still say park Stubbs and play Raburn in right when Bourne returns. At least until his 344 batting average collapses.

Tribe also now leads the majors in home runs...
Unfortunately, Hammy didn't call this shot -

Since I can't rep Francona, I guess you'll have to doLaley23;1439257 wrote:Impressive alone. Coupled with the fact he was TRYING to hit a HR because he got drilled in the head makes it so much better. Then he admitted it was the coolest thing he has ever done (the stare, spit and run) takes it over the top. Also love that Tito said to him, "if you get one, let him know" -

You play the 340 hitter...not the 260 hitter...until the 340 hitter tanks.Laley23;1439262 wrote:Raburn aint much better. Slightly better career average, about equal power and WAY less speed. -

Rayburn is half the player Stubbs is. If Stubbs was a DH I'd agree with you. -
HitsRusI'm not going to try to compare Raburn and Stubbs... you play the guy that gives you the best chance to win on any given nite. Between injuries and guys needing rest,I'm happy to have BOTH these guys (as well as Aviles)on the team.

This is the guy that Francona has to find a way to get more PT--he's gonna' be a player!!!HitsRus;1439467 wrote:I'm not going to try to compare Raburn and Stubbs... you play the guy that gives you the best chance to win on any given nite. He is 32 and in his 6th season. I agree he needs more time, because he proved in KC that he can play everyday and produce. But he isnt going to be anything. He is what he is. -

Agreed. Honestly I would like to see him get some more playing time vs lefties at 3rd base -
Fab4RunnerI was able to catch a few innings on TV last night. That Reynolds HR was fantastic.
It is depressing and embarrassing to see the attendance numbers, but it doesn't surprise me at all. I've been to three games so far (two last week) and have at least seven more to go. Parking is cheap, tickets are cheap, food and beer are (relatively) cheap. I always have a great time and the weather has been borderline perfect lately. I don't understand why fans aren't going, and I hope we don't make the owners and front office regret spending money in the off-season. -

agreed. This attendance needs to pick up immediately. This team is fun to watch and money wise...it is the best value in town. I have my 10 pack of tickets, but I think I may have to purchase some more seatsFab4Runner;1439614 wrote:I was able to catch a few innings on TV last night. That Reynolds HR was fantastic.

Leave it to Bases Loaded to make an unbelieably ignorant statement. What is it about 345 BA vs 260 that you don't understand? We aren't talking about a small sample size here either. 70-80 plate appearances mean something.\bases_loaded;1439454 wrote:Rayburn is half the player Stubbs is. And as I type this I see Raburn double...and watch Stubbs look at strike 3...not once...but twice....and strand him at third.
Nobody knows if Raburn will continue to play like this. But in real life, you perform, you get rewarded. It's the way it works BL.
*Edit 353 vs 257 on the current batting averages. -

Don't ruffle Laley's feathers there Bub. He knows it all...even more than LJ.vball10set;1439622 wrote:Oh, okay  -

lol. Because I dont think a 6 year veteran who is 32 is going to become something special???Footwedge;1439693 wrote:Don't ruffle Laley's feathers there Bub. He knows it all more than LJ. -

This is coming from a guy who thinks Raburn brings more to the table than Stubbs. The only thing I agree with him is to ride raburn until he hits his usual slump -
Laley23
Yeah, I dont think anyone wants Raburn to be benched right now, he is hitting well. Isnt Stubbs near .500 the last week too though?Crimson streak;1439704 wrote:This is coming from a guy who thinks Raburn brings more to the table than Stubbs. But at the end of the year, their averages and power numbers will be about the same. And at that point, I hope Stubbs has more AB/PA than Raburn cause he brings better defense and a shit-ton of speed to our line-up. -
Laley23Yan Gomes has some nice pop. Also, lol at that "steal" by Aviles
-
Laley23Rick Vaughn in the minors???
JC O'Connor ‏@OconRecon 46m Trevor Bauer at Class AAA Columbus today: 6 2/3 innings ZERO hits TWO runs SEVEN strikeouts. FOUR walks. FOUR hit batters. ONE wild pitch

Lol...nice stat line -
Ironman92Stubbs is 0 for his last 10.....he'll live off the mediocre lefties.
When he scored....the Reds won.....but take 90 seconds and check out his stats last year in Reds losses. Lol
