Really good hitter, but not top 10/11. -

Really good hitter, but not top 10/11.
I'm not looking to argue....but looking at the batting value at #14....he's getting destroyed in the base running and defensive categories.....how can those figure in to a hitter? -

They don't, but I can see where you're coming from, since the stats are all presented side by side.Ironman92;1459009 wrote:I'm not looking to argue....but looking at the batting value at #14....he's getting destroyed in the base running and defensive categories.....how can those figure in to a hitter?
From the site's glossary page
Batting - Park Adjusted Runs Above Average based on wOBA -
Ironman92Ok....so all of those stats aren't figured in to batting value?
-

As far as I can tell, each of those are just the component stats for total WAR.Ironman92;1459020 wrote:Ok....so all of those stats aren't figured in to batting value? -

I was thinking these look far more needed for Total War.....not who is a top 10 hitter -
RotinajI was joking w top 11 thing. Also, a stat that determines runs are worth more in certain parks just seems stupid to me.

Top 11 (per sleeper) means all players not in the top 10.... -
Ironman92Orioles and Giants fans really pushing their guys in the ASG

RotinajLast I saw Bruce was 15th in voting. Not sure why he isn't getting more love.

Eh, I'd argue that runs created does the best job of taking into account hitting ability, but I mean batting value also reflects wRC+ so I think those are the two best categories. Look at who is ahead of Prince in those categories, and it's hard to say he belongs ahead of them (*for the most part*)Ironman92;1459026 wrote:I was thinking these look far more needed for Total War.....not who is a top 10 hitter -

Because all 3 Giants OF are above him and Cincy is not pushed on many around the country. People in Baltimore probably know Bruce as well as most Reds fans know Nick Markasis....just about every team probably has their version of Bruce. Do Reds fans know how good Coco Crisp or Daniel Nava is?....I bet almost anything they don't.
ASG voters suck often, but Bruce hasn't done enough to make fans of other teams to really take notice. -
Ironman92Stupid ML site.
Here....current players with 1,000+ RBI

I know....just saying that his base running and defense have nothing to do with him being a top 10 hitter or not. -
Midstate01Matt Harvey has a no no through 6 against ATL. But he's at nearly 90 pitches. Has 12ks
