GoChiefsHe turned a blind eye to 'roids for quite a while. The only reason he implemented any drug testing was because he was pressured to.

True, but everyone ws turning a blind eye to it. There was a memo floatoing around in the mid-late 90s I think to teams about PED's in the game and how they are illegal, but with the union so strong testing would be impossible. I used to have a link to the actual memo. Here is an article about it.GoChiefs;1507799 wrote:He turned a blind eye to 'roids for quite a while. I think the game is better off and more interesting now than before he took over. Yeah..the ASG winner thing is pretty gay, and not HUGE fan of the 1 game playoff but on the flipside of that...it gives more teams a chance AND it rewards the division winners so that isnt so bad. If reds in first place we would love to see two teams slug it out with their aces to see whom you would play. -

Ironman92The anti-Gomez story...
Mariano Rivera (trailing 4-0 in the 9th) got the 1st out...then the second and then Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte came out to the mound to pull him and call for another reliever....
Great stuff! -

I really don't give a fuck about Mariano Rivera. Every god damn day on ESPN they have a headline "Houston Astros honor Rivera" that shouldn't be on the front page. Put it on ESPN NY.Ironman92;1507926 wrote:The anti-Gomez story...

Midstate01It was awesome watching that live. There are moments in sports I'll never forget. That was one. I agree that it got annoying seeing everyone give him things all year. But its just another compliment to Mo, that every player and team in the league has the ultimate respect for him.

Azubuike24If all 3 AL wild card teams finish tied, they will take the best intradivision record (as of today, TEX 50-23, TBR 42-31, CLE 41-32) and draft for spots A, B and C.
Team A hosts Team B - winner gets a wild card spot
Team C hosts the loser of A vs B - winner gets a wild card spot
If those teams are tied in winning percentage (only if team C wins the second game), head to head record between those teams would then determine who hosts the wild card game.
CLE won head to head with TEX
CLE lost head to head with TBR
TEX won head to head with TBR
This whole thing would be crazy. I hope it happens. -

Pretty sure almost none of this is true.Azubuike24;1508364 wrote:If all 3 AL wild card teams finish tied, they will take the best intradivision record (as of today, TEX 50-23, TBR 42-31, CLE 41-32) and draft for spots A, B and C.

Indians have the best record (7-5) combined of the 3 teams (versus each other) and designate themselves as team A-B-C. They will probably be Team C and only have to play 1 game, but would then have to go ON THE ROAD (not host).
I dont know Texas or TB record, but they play each other. Whoever has the best record between the 3 teams is the home team and the winner hosts Cleveland. -
Azubuike24I was just looking it up on the MLB website. There are about 20 different scenarios and sections though. You think Cleveland would choose Team C though?
If they picked A, they host and could potentially win and still play just one game. I'd think A is preferable, followed by C then B. -

Hopefully they just fucking win and not have to deal with it. -

Why choose a scenario where you need to win 2 games and not just 1, home team or not?? Makes no sense. Eliminate the odds of losing.Azubuike24;1508434 wrote:I was just looking it up on the MLB website. There are about 20 different scenarios and sections though. Laley23Well, here it is. Seems mlb changed it for this year.

The Tribe took seed 1, and host seed 2 (Tampa). Winner gets wild card. Loser plays Texas. Winner of that game gets another WC. Homefield for that game goes to the season series winner. So, basically, if it's a 3 way tie Tribe has 2 chances to make it into the 1 game playoff lol. -
Azubuike24If you're A, and you beat B, you advance. The other 2 fight it out. That's why I'd choose A. 1 game if you win and it's at home.

Put St. Louis/Dodgers in the swept in the first round group. If they wind up playing each other, it won't happen for both, but the quicker they both go out, the better.#1DBag;1508544 wrote:Who needs to win the World Series:1. Cleveland1a. Cincinnati2. Azubuike24Imagine any of these scenarios for WS ratings.
Tampa/Oakland/Cleveland vs Pittsburgh/Cincinnati
Now, Cleveland/Cincinnati would actually have some storyline to it, but any of the others would basically be a disaster for FOX. -
Azubuike24Pretty sure Tampa Bay/Oakland would be the worst attended and watched ALCS of all time as well.

If Atlanta wins and St. Louis loses, the Braves get it. They won the H2H over STL 5-2.Ironman92;1509183 wrote:Jimmy Rollins with a tremendous play to give St Louis home field -
