Not worth reading the whole article as it comes from bleacher report.. but based on stats, Id have to agree with BR on signing Keenan Lewis

    http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/1500730-pro-bowl-why-steelers-cb-keenan-lewis-belongs-in-hawaii-this-weekend

According to statistics compiled by Pro Football Focus, he was the second-most targeted cornerback in the league in 2012, facing*112throws over the course of the season.Lewis withstood the pressure, though, leading the AFC in passes defended. *He finished fourth in the conference in yards allowed per target and seventh in touchdowns allowed per target amongcornerbacks*who played in more than 60 percent of their team’s defensive snaps.* During the course of the season, he never gave up*100 yards*in a game to opposing receivers whom he covered.Lewis was equally stout against the run, ranking*third*in the AFC in run stop percentage, the portion of a cornerback’s tackles that constitute a “loss” for the offense.* The Steelers defensive back*didn’t miss a single tackle on opposition running plays and helped the team’s defensive backfield allow the*fifth fewest*yards on runs that exceeded 10 yards.

Delanie Walker would be a great replacement for Watson

Yes please. I love the way San Fran uses him. A fb/te. Very dangerous out of the backfield but yet still a mismatch split out

You can not replace Ben GOATson

    DeGOAT Walker will

Anyone who thinks Joe Flacco will play for anyone but the Ravens next year is crazy.

Yeah, don't get this myself. There seems to be a lot of talk about the Browns trying to go after him. If Baltimore allows him to sniff free agency, where a team can sign him to an offer sheet (not exclusive rights), they are stupid. It should free up some of their other free agents though. Can't sign them all.

Only thing I can think is Banner drives up the price on Flacco and then goes after one or two of their other guys. I'd love to see them steal Paul Kruger from Baltimore AND Keenan Allen from Pittsburgh

Sadly, Alex Smith will be the next QB of the Cleveland Browns.

3way trade is brewing involving CLE, KC & SF

    KC gets - Weeden
    CLV gets - Smith
SF gets - KC 2nd Rd pick

God, I hope this isn't true. Not as much that I can see Weeden being successful as I DON'T want Alex Smith in Brown & Orange.

It makes no sense with a vertical offense.

Not only that but he was surrounded by the "perfect storm" (awesome running game, lights out defense, etc) in SF and he STILL lost his job to CK. That doesn't happen to franchise QB's.

I've heard the quotes 'Weeden might be able to get you to 7-9, 8-8, at best." Be careful what you wish for because you're getting the same thing with Smith. If they see a QB that is a significant upgrade over Weeden, go for it...but Smith is NOT a "significant" upgrade.

That trade doesn't make sense with KC having the #1 overall pick unless they think Geno Smith really sucks.

Actually, I think he cut & pasted that from the OBR. It's one of the top running rumors over there.

No way you do that trade. Weeden will be a superstar in this new vertical offense!!

That really has nothing to do with it. If there's a significant upgrade (Flacco), you do it. Smith isn't much of a upgrade.

I would argue Smith isn't an upgrade at all.

And KC would be giving up the #33 pick for Alex Smith, essentially (although they'd get Weeden). Do you give up a late 1st/early 2nd for Smith? That's friggin crazy.

I do call bullshit on the rumor though. Can't remember the last time a 3 way dance happened in the NFL. That's NBA stuff.

Agree with BR on smith. I think my feelings toward him are well known.

    Troy Smith or Alex Smith?
  • BR1986FB
I'm not completely opposed to them moving away from Weeden if they see a significant upgrade (draft, free agency or trade) but I just don't see anyone out there that makes me say "oh, crap...GOTTA have this guy." Now that changes if Flacco hits the market. He's not Brady/Brees/Manning/Rodgers but he is a proven franchise QB.

All of that being said, since there likely won't be a significant upgrade available, I'd rather see what Weeden looks like in this vertical system.
