Have heard a few grumblings that they may make a run at Ryan Mallet. What's everyone's thoughts on that?
  • Commander of Awesome

Not against it, but it obviously depends on what we would have to give up.

I'm against any player that Bellichk gives up. Plus Mallet's thing in college was bone headed decision making, some off the field issues and inconsistent accuracy. He does have a cannon for an arm though. Weeden is better than Mallet is almost every aspect except age. No fucking thanks.

Make sure you get a photo with them too.

Someone post the Gibby/Urban Meyer photo please.

Lol I will NOT be getting photos, especially now!! Maybe with my daughter though.

Joe Thomas was awesome last year. He saw me with my browns shirt on and came to me first, and was really a nice guy to chat with.

I'd give up like a 6th round pick for him. Anything more than that fuck no.

Pats drafted him in the 3rd. No way they give him up cheap.

Lol they are expanding the Rooney rule to assistant coaches and cordinators. lol everybody up in arms bc a black coach wasn't hired this year. What a joke

I don't know about everyone else, but I would rather know my interview was legitimate, and not just something to meet a quota. I wonder if in the history of the Rooney rule, a team brought in a black coach for a token interview, and ended up hiring him?

Lets hope that Al Sharpton gets his retarded ass involved.

Mike Tomlin was a throw in from what I always heard

Weeden's college offense was different than Mallett's. My lasting memory of him will be him putting on a f*cking clinic against us in the Sugar Bowl, only to have his receivers have some crucial drops, one of which was a sure touchdown. I would strongly prefer Mallett to Weeden.

I doubt that. I'm sure the Steelers intended on hiring a black guy since it's the Rooney Rule.

Mallet had a completion percentage of 65% his last year at Arkansas, no thanks to his WR's, so I'm not sure I understand the inaccuracy argument. I'll take Mallet after 2 years under Belichek, as opposed to Weeden and his one year under Shurmur.

That has what to do with anything?

    Inorite? That Fab1b. He's such a douche.
Amazing how a mod is allowed to call someone else(another moderator even) a douche. Isn't name calling against the rules? It's even worse that Fab1b has nothing to do with this thread at all.

    It's called sarcasm. Smh. No, I don't think he's a douche. Wow.

    Please stay on topic.

QB wish list in order of preference.

    1. Alex Smith
    2. Geno Smith only at 6

    Weeden

    3. Ryan Mallet
    4. QB after 3rd round

My lasting memory of Mallett is getting a game winning chance and messing it up by throwing an interception to a guy who never had an interception in his life. Also had I think 2 chances to beat Alabama that year and screwed them both up by throwing interceptions. I know you're supposed to look at the big picture but its hard to forget a guy shitting the bed twice when the game is on the line. I don't see Mallett as an upgrade at all, and I would be scared of Alex Smith away from San Fran. I think Weeden will be good with Norv and Chud, and the Browns will be a top 10 offense.

    Holy shit is that optimistic.
