    This was his point.

No his point was even a bum (i.e. lewis) had a good year with Chud. Lewis was not a bum coming into that year.

Word on the street is that Ray Horton is out as DC in Arizona and actually wants to come to Cleveland as our DC. Hard to believe he would take a lesser role with a team he interviewed for the HC position with, but if he does, in fact, take the job, I think it says a lot about the plans and vision Jimmy has for the Browns. Every single coach that interviewed for the HC position certainly got a real good idea about the direction Jimmy wants to take this team. If Horton is willing to be our DC after not being offered the HC job, he certainly must buy into what Jim was sellin'.

I have a terrible feeling about Banner, can't stand the guy to be honest, but outside of Banner and a 'you-know-who' GM signing, I like what the Browns have assembled so far. If (pipe dream) Shula can come coach-up Weeden, we'll have a solid start to starting over.

Lewis avg'd 3.6 yds per carry in '06 and had 900 yds rushing in '05. He was a bum before chud.

Just going to reiterate what I first reported earlier tonight. still sounds like Todd Bowles ends up in AZ and Ray Horton ends up in CLE

I know he runs the 3-4. but thats all I really know about this guy.

There's a difference between ending up in Cleveland and wanting to be in Cleveland

I'd be happy with this hire. I can see it happening too. Ray reached out to Norv Turner to be his OC when he thought he had the Cards job locked down.

Yeah, he was. A blindfolded monkey with a cane could've had 1300 yards in that offense in 2007.

I bitched & moaned about how slow he was hitting the hole that season. The Cincinnati game alone, in which he had something like 225 yards, he could've went for 300. Had he had the speed he had earlier in his career, in 2007, he would've had close to 2000 yards.

This was kind of the point of me posting that link. Turner & Chud will run the ball and with a vertical attack, the running lanes should be open for a slower Trent Richardson to get larger chunks of yards. And before anyone jumps on the "slower" comment, Richardson is slow to the hole, just like Lewis. His advantage is youth.

Thanks for that kick in the dick heading into the weekend.

Adam Schefter is reporting it's a done deal. Browns hired Michael Lombardi as GM.

And I was thinking..."there's no way things can get worse, right?"

Not to mention, seeing tweets about the Eagles owner (Lurie) on how he bashed the Browns and Joe Banner as part of his "selling tool" for Chip Kelly.

I do not know enough about Lombardi to really judge, but from a quick search..Id say the Browns were alright under him before. No clue how the Eagles were the year he was there/why he was left or fired. Im not sure how fair it would be to judge him under Al Davis, who we know was making most of the decisions.
Posted this earlier in the thread.

    thoughts?

Adam Schefter updated and says Lombardi's title in Cleveland will be VP Player Personnel.

He's an abortion. Everthing he's touched has turned to shit. Two words..."Jamarcus" "Russell." Same guy who thinks Josh Gordon was a "wasted pick" and shouldn't have been selected. Also bashed the T-Rich pick.

His title should be "Network Analyst"

Just when it felt like we were getting things moving in the right direction..

Now all we need to do is trade up to draft Teo and the offseason will be complete!!!

In fairness to him, I believe basically every GM in the NFL would have taken JaBustus Russell in that position (#1 overall). There was so much hype and no one really stopped to truly evaluate him and see his many flaws.

Gordon--that was dumb of him to say.

T-Rich--jury is still out on him as a #3 overall pick. He's at the very least going to be good, so don't think I'm bashing my homie T Rich; but at #3 overall he better have a monster year next year or Lombardi would be correct.

    This.

Also, we still need a GM. Apologize to Shurmur and bring him on?

There was also the "Kyle Brady's off the board, panic and trade down to #30 for Future Hall of Fame LB Craig Powell out of Ohio State" during Belichick's time here he was involved with.
