I wish I could find my post. Same shit different year. We will be 4-12 Chud will be fired and back to the 4-3 we go.

When Chud was hired I hated it. But I rooted for the guy. Seriously they have to have a big name lined up. Have too.

If you had a great job that you loved, but got an offer from another company with a little more pay, but the company is known for treating it's employees terribly, would it be an easy decision to leave your current job? I guess everyone is different, but I'm not uprooting my family, and taking them half way across the country on a gamble.

I agree, but we also don't have the egos of these guys. They want to be the best...and being the best means highest paid to most athletes/coaches

No way does the Stanford coach leave. He has a great job at an elite college and Im sure money isn't an issue with him. He wont leave a secure job to get a season or two with the Browns to be canned and go back to college again.

Yeah, its like they hired chud knowing that he wasn't their guy, and they had someone else in mind for the following year. It was more of a "throwing shit at a wall and seeing if it sticks" type of hiring.

A lot coaches work to be a NFL HC in their lifetime, thus why if there is an opportunity they take it. Most times when a coach is taking over a new NFL team, the reason they are taking over is because the team sucked ass. Not many coaches get to walk into a perfect opportunity like Harbaugh.

The Browns(if they fire Chud), have fired 4 coaches in 6 seasons. What coach wouldn't want to walk into that mess?

We aren't talking personnel issues here. This is a management issue that would scare coaches off that are stable where they are. I think the threat of uprooting your life to only get a year or 2 would be too disconcerting for the currently employed big name guys. The uncertainty made college coaches turn the Browns down last year, and the management situation seems worse from an employee point of view.

I think the Browns do have a lot to make them a good job. 5 pro bowlers. Some good picks coming up, great fan base. Good facilities. A good coach could succeed there, but will management let them?

O'Brien told the Eagles and the Browns "thanks for the interviews but I'm gonna a stay here"

And like Iggy said, a big factor for Kelly going to Philly was his ability to have full control just like running a college team.

I think O Brien end up in Texas. He can go to the Texans who are closer then the Browns are to winning or to Texas and have great recruiting classes guaranteed in college.

O'Brien felt as if he owed it to PSU to stay another year. Also, I am not a fan of coaches having full personnel control. It normally doesn't work out. We will see how it works out for Kelly after a couple drafts and teams having a lot more game film on his system.
