I've Seen Enough of Brandon Weeden

  • Footwedge
Anybody else? Besides S & L of course. He sucks. Period. And unlike last year, there have not been as many dropped passes. We actually have a running back now and yet Weeden's numbers are pathetic.

His quarterback rating is 70. Compare that to McCoy's career at 75. Out of 33 q'bcks, he ranks 31. The reason this team is 2-8.....lays mostly on his shoulders....not the effin coach. (Even though he blows too).

It doesn't matter if we would still lose with McCoy. You play the best player, not the player that was drafted highest or makes the most money. (Cue Russel Wilson)

Spare me the rookie talk too. I've seen him miss wide open people all year long. Other than yesterday's TD pass to Watson late, he has excelled at playing like shit in the fourth quarters. He has also proven to be worthless late in the first half, when good quarterbacks virtually always put points on the board. I could go on.

The only thing positive I'll say...he's not nearly as bad as Charlie Frye....or Derek the pig Anderson.

With nobody worth a shit coming out of college this year, it's time to make a trade...or else hold your nose and play McCoy. With McCoy, this team is at least 4-6. I'm tired of effin losing.

I am giving him a full year, but I am starting to have serious doubts. He makes piss poor decisions and he doesn't learn from them. Accuracy was supposed to be his bread n butter....absolutely not the case...and that has nothing to do with being a rookie. That has to do with not being very good.

In case you haven't noticed, it doesn't matter who the Browns put at QB. Cleveland is a QB killer. They'd ruin Manning and Brady's careers if they went there.

No better time to make a move than the present. I mean, look at Jax. They "committed" to that piece of crap Gabbert forever. Their quarterback "of the future" had been garbage for a year and a half. They all said "well, we know Henne sucks". Well, Gabbert found the pine....only because Gabbert got hurt. So what did Henne do? Check his stats against the vaunted Houston defense yesterday on the road. And...as a side note...those that thought Blackmon was going to be a bum, also need to check out yesterday's numbers. Blackmon had well over 200 yards in receptions.

McCoy needs to start...this week against Pittspuke.

I just think everyone forgets how bad Colt was last year. I think the bigger problem is that they obviously reached for Weeden...and now they are fucked. This front office fucked us big time.

Def reached for Weeden, but I think the guy has the tools and skills to be a decent QB. That being said, in position to draft a Stud QB (I personally dont think this draft has one) you do it.
  • Heretic
While I personally can't imagine Weeden being much more than a stopgap who could be adequate for a couple of years, it's kind of hard to justify benching him NOW.

The team isn't making the playoffs and it's not like they have a better option in McCoy. A younger option, yes. A better one, no. Weeden's a first-round pick. Go with him and if he continues to suck...well, you'll have a really high pick in the first round and hopefully a management team smart enough to not squander the pick. And then go into next year with a legit option to compete with him for the starting job, so you're not stuck in another year of "this guy isn't really panning out, but everyone else sucks too, so we're fucked!" as far as QB goes.

Hard to guage him with the worst play caller calling the plays. I mean is it fucking rocket science to have your WRs run the minimum amount of yrds needed on 3rd down? Patty boy sucks and doesn't put his players in position to make plays.

Hell look at Trich, we finally get him the ball in space and he pwns. Only to be followed up by 2 straight run up the gut into 8 man fronts. Its pathetic.

very true. Although, he doesn't make the plays when they are there....it is such a clusterfuck right now

Weeden was getting bailed out big time by the WR in the first half when we were moving the ball well. He had days in the pocket and was still throwing such shitty passes. If he doesn't improve over the last handful games of the season I hope he falls down, breaks his hip, and can't play anymore.

I've not seen anything from Weeden that makes me think he is an NFL QB. However, I don't want to draft another QB until we get some talent around him.

Especially when there isn't a big time QB coming out.

exactly. Right now, it looks like a piss poor class coming out.

QB is the hardest position to go from college to the NFL. He's made mistakes that a rookie QB will make. He's made some very good throws as well. I think with the right coaching and play-calling he will be a good QB. He hasn't had that. Now, Shurmer is in his head....which I believe has caused him to play tentative and not throw the ball down field. I don't remember one time yesterday that he threw deep.

Rookie QBs will make mistakes. Look at Luck yesterday. He made some terrible throws. It happens.

Did you say cornerback? thats where browns aren't so good.
  • Pick6
Browns secondary is fine, IMO outside of FS when Haden is healthy. Skrine cannot guard #1s

I'm happy with weeden. Can make all the throws. He's a rookie, I expect dumb mistakes.

    Weeden and T Rich

    or

rg3 and Alfred Morris (6th rd. pick)

    cheap asses

(edit) I'm not trolling. You know I'm right. You wish the Browns would have took him.
    Admit it.

So what? How long is the Browns going to rebuild? Another 20 years?
  • Laley23
Redskins will be worse than the Browns the next 3 years. Im calling it now. RG3 is NOT good enough to sell the farm for. If he was available for less, and thus you could build around him in subsequent drafts, you make that trade. As it stands, the Skins are in a worse position than the Browns, I dont doubt that at all.

I agree, although....he makes such a huge difference. They leave him out on an island usually so the safeties are there to help the other guys.

exactly. Price was way too high....no one wanted RG3 for that price. I didn't want him at 4....would have been pissed if they traded everything for him.

Redskins will EASILY be better than the Browns over the next 3 years. Not sure how you can possibly say otherwise. Unless RG3 suffers a horrible injury.
