If he was available for less, and thus you could build around him in subsequent drafts, you make that trade. As it stands, the Skins are in a worse position than the Browns, I dont doubt that at all.
Redskins need a few defense pieces. No qb in this next draft worthy of 1st round money. Maybe the Browns plan on sucking until they can draft Braxton.

And shurmur would have ruined him anyways lol

Hell no Braxton is not a good passer at all.

Actually I kind of like Landry jones.

Oh and someone shut Said up...if we have to hear one more god damn time that the Browns passed on rg3 (they didn't..), I'm done with these threads

I'm actually starting to agree with you. I would like to give weedon 1 more year though because I don't like any of the qb's in this draft at all except maybe jones or bray(his decision making sucks)

Crimson streak;1325284 wrote:Lol outside of Haden the secondary is horrible I dk wth games your watching
lol thats what I'm saying. What the hell game are you watching? Like I said yesterday if the Browns went with a CB with our first pick, I wouldn't cry one bit. Give me Rhodes from Florida State or Milliner from Alabama, I think I'm missing a corner coming out too.

With that being said, I have been a HUGE Brandon supporter even before the draft. I do not believe on giving up on a qb 10 games into a career. He has a cannon, a very good offensive line in front of him. Hes very hot n cold when he plays. I am not blaming Pat Shurmur but Weeden isn't taking shots down field anymore, a lot less than the start of the year. Yes he has 12 INTs but so does Andrew Luck. Rookies are going to make mistakes. I expect Weeden to be here next year and the new front office either drafts a qb in the 3rd or 4th round or bring a vet.

lol...True, but I have never been sold. I wanted Justin Blackmon and that guard that ended up at Pittsburgh for christ's sake...lmao

Landry Jones scares me, I just don't know about him. I like Tyler Wilson coming out. Yes he has been hurt but the dude can game. I believe he can be the best qb coming out of this class. ( I know thats not saying much as of right now)

Definitely wanted blackmon too. He has just been having a shitty year with Blaine Gabbert throwing him the fucking ball. lol

Serious question here. Who's the last successful nfl QB who had a .500 final year in college? I admit I haven't watched much of Geno but he seems to have disappeared in some big games.
  • SportsAndLady
I don't really have an issue with letting Weeden finish out the year, as I don't think benching him now would bring anything of positive value to the Browns, short and long term.

But what's the point of keeping him next year? My whole stance has not been that Weeden sucks, but rather his ceiling is an average QB. They'll be 8-8 next year. Then what are we going to do? Grab a mid first round QB (again)? Trust that '14 draft is loaded at QB?

Take a QB top 5 pick this year. It's time.

lol i was being sarcastic. I just remember people pimping Geno Smith hardcore when he was crushing shitty ass college teams. I don't think Smith is worth a top 10 pick.

But thats the thing, I haven't seen a QB that screams I am a top five pick this year. Usually at this time "that" qb is starting to shine and everybody is starting to take notice, I haven't noticed anybody..

I mean if there were a RG3 or Luck hell yes you pull the trigger. But i do not buy what Smith or Barkley are selling.

(edit) I'm not trolling. You know I'm right. You wish the Browns would have took him.
    Admit it.
Not me man. I wish the Browns would have stuck with McCoy and just taken another good position player at #20. Think of the guys you could have got at #20....McCoy was good enough for where they are going this year.

I honestly don't see any qb's better than weedon in this draft as bad as that is so there's really no point in wasting a top 5 pick in something that's not better than what we have. That why I say give him another year build up the o line and secondary/ lb then go get that qb the following year.

You and I are not NFL scouts. A lot of people "think" now that there isn't a great QB prospect, but that doesn't mean one won't emerge.

And even if we take a Gabbert, and he sucks...we'll have another top 5 pick in '14 lol

I mean it sounds ridiculous, but this fucking franchise needs a damn QB.

I will bet my life a QB in next year's draft will be better than Weeden.

Weeden isn't good lol idk why I keep hearing this "there's no QB better than Weeden"

Maybe I am, maybe I'm not.. Hmmm...

And come on bro you know better than that! that is no way to draft. Why waste a first round pick then have to turn around a burn another one. Whats another year of shitty qb play? It has been 12 years now?

EDIT: If one does emerge and the front office wants him. I back the front office 100%. I am rooting for the Browns not the name on that back.

Well we can take a QB until one pans out, or we can just keep doing what we've been doing...

I bet there won't be. Honestly name 1 qb that is worthy of a top 5 pick this draft. All these qb's have major major flaws. And keep drafting a qb top 5 year after year is no way to build a team at all.
