And you'll only accept an "elite franchise QB." Let me clue you in, those guys come around once in a blue moon. There are maybe 6-7 in the league right now and none in this coming draft.SportsAndLady;1301074 wrote:Which is what you base your argument on..which is what you're not seeing here.
In a hypothetical situation, just because the 8th best player out of 10 is better than the 9th and 10th, doesn't mean he's any good. -

Look at Houston, build a good defense and o line and run the ball with trich and pass off of the run. Honestly I want saban as the head coach because this is exactly what he does in college. -

Oh my bad you can predict the future? Why didn't you say so in the first place. So question..When will we finally win the Super Bowl?BR1986FB;1301082 wrote:. There are maybe 6-7 in the league right now and none in this coming draft. -

Your hatred for Weeden is comicalSportsAndLady;1301074 wrote:Which is what you base your argument on..which is what you're not seeing here.

Make sure you "check back in 5 years" -
BR1986FBMan, I'm glad you're not the GM. Some fans just want change just for the sake of change.

Good thing we drafted a running back 3rd pick so that our identity can be a pass first team. -

He did it in Miami. It's really not his fault Ricky Williams went all Ricky Williams. But the only way I want saban to be the coach is if he is only the coach. -

if weeden is truly at fault, i have no qualms with laying him with the blame. for most of the season, however, the linebackers, pass rush and secondary have been more at fault for the team's 1-6 recordSportsAndLady;1301059 wrote:I don't think it's ever really Weeden's fault...moreso laugh at all the blame being shifted to everyone BUT Weeden. -
lhslep134This would be a great year to take a QB in round 3 or 4 as a backup to Weeden who has more upside than Colt. I've seen enough from Weeden that I want him around next year, but I want a high upside backup who is 6-7 years younger

I agree with this. Tyler bray possibly. Very strong arm just doesn't make the best decisions. He can sit and learn for about 5 years then take over -

Exactly. If Weeden has another clunker like the Philly game I'll be the first to say he shit the bed. I said it after the Philly game and I won't be afraid to say it again if it does happen.....but I doubt it does.dazedconfused;1301108 wrote:if weeden is truly at fault, i have no qualms with laying him with the blame. for most of the season, however, the linebackers, pass rush and secondary have been more at fault for the team's 1-6 record
More often than not it's been the defense that's let this team down. If this team's defense was playing like it was last year, statistically, they'd probably be 4-3 or 3-4. Unfortunately, as the Bengals are seeing, last year was a statistical anomaly, the defense wasn't that good, and faced a lot of really weak QB's. -

Now this I could buy into. At some point they will need a guy to groom to be Weeden's replacement. I doubt that guy will be McCoy.lhslep134;1301112 wrote:This would be a great year to take a QB in round 3 or 4 as a backup to Weeden who has more upside than Colt. The defense isn't that far away though. We need about 3-4 players to be a good d. A pass rusher a very good lb a corner and a safety. I'd like to get te'o or Jarvis jones with our first rounder this year. -
BR1986FB
I agree here too. They need an impact DE to take some of the focus off of Sheard. A corner opposite of Haden, another safety (a ball hawker) and a badass LB. Agree completely. Guys like Sheldon Brown (although he's played well recently) & Skrine shouldn't be on the field.Crimson streak;1301121 wrote:The defense isn't that far away though. Their lack of pass rush is a killer. If the Browns had a pass rush like the (usual) Giants front 4 or the Steelers (when they are good) pass rush today, Luck would've been pissing his pants. He had way too much time to throw. -

All six of Josh Cooper's receptions this season have gone for a first down.

I'd like te'o and then go into free agency and get a corner/safety. Then the following year go pass rushing de -

The Browns have more sacks than Pittsburgh and NYG this season. Lets not let stats get in the way of our biased argument though!BR1986FB;1301123 wrote:I agree here too. How early do we think Te'o will go? I like the kid, not sure he is worth a top 3 pick though.Crimson streak;1301128 wrote:I'd like te'o and then go into free agency and get a corner/safety. Then the following year go pass rushing de -

i don't think he will be either. maybe 10 15 range? but we can trade rape like the rams did last year to a spot of OUR choice and take either Jones, or Te'o. this offense has a lot of potential to lethal.KR1245;1301136 wrote:How early do we think Te'o will go? I haven't looked at any mock drafts but I have heard top 5. Obviously if we have a top 2 pick I'd like to drop a few spots down and pick up either another first or a second. But if we can't then I look at Montgomery from lsu as our pass rushing de -

you can go back and look. i was at the eagles browns game and i completely blamed that loss on bradon weeden.SportsAndLady;1301058 wrote:No I agree..well sort of. Weeden looked okay, not good. You don't look good putting up 13 points. My point is that no one wants to blame Weeden, ever.
They just "forget" about the 1st game. Just throw it away. Forget that the defense actually played really well and Weeden blew a great opportunity. Wash their hands of that game. -

Reading's obviously not your strength. Read it again, Troy Aikman.Pick6;1301132 wrote:The Browns have more sacks than Pittsburgh and NYG this season. Lets not let stats get in the way of our biased argument though!
I said 'If the Browns had a pass rush like the (usual) Giants front 4 or the Steelers (when they are good)".... implying a fierce pass rush like the Giants and Steelers USUALLY have, which the Browns DON'T.
Frankly don't give a shit how many sacks they have. QB's still have way too much time to throw. Get in Luck's face, early & often today, (which they didn't) and perhaps the Colts aren't driving, leisurely up & down the field like they did in the first half today. Front four simply isn't harrassing QB's enough. -
Crimson streakJust looked at a few mock drafts and they have te'o from 10-20. So I was off lol they have Jarvis jones too 3 though. Ill take him in a heart beat. Him mingo or Montgomery

that would be top notch. even if we could grab another 1st or 2nd rounder or both. future is looking bright around here finally.Crimson streak;1301141 wrote:I haven't looked at any mock drafts but I have heard top 5. I'm skeptical that the "trade rape" is gonna happen this year. Usually that type of "take" comes from a trade up for what is perceived is a franchise QB. As previously mentioned, I don't think there's an RGIII in this draft. Someone may end of rising but I just don't think that elite talent is there now.shook_17;1301139 wrote:i don't think he will be either. maybe 10 15 range? but we can trade rape like the rams did last year to a spot of OUR choice and take either Jones, or Te'o. this offense has a lot of potential to lethal.
